So Very Nice

Listened 3 times.
When I go to Israel, it will be a one way ticket.
Next year in Jerusalem.

As a student who just left Yerushalayim, this video evokes a powerful response. The lyrics and views are beautiful and ever truthful. This city is our home.

(30) Mittie Watkins, June 6, 2013 1:50 PM

I am already there!

This song transforms me from my physical location and spiritually places me in the heart of the ancient city; it does something unexplainable to my soul!

A black ex- muslim that now LOVE his brothers.

I love this. NOW I understand, you love your grandpa also. I was born in Harlem in the USA and grew up around Black Muslims. BUT my grandfarther was jewish so the belirfs were hard for me.

I send my love out to you and my hope for "Next year in Yerushalayim".

Peace.......

Daivd Green, May 11, 2013 9:01 PM

wow.. thank you for your warm feedback

You should know that I couldn't have composed this album without the powerful influence of Stevie Wonder, Miles Davis and others of blended their souls together with my Jewish soul. Our pasts are a part of out future. enjoy the path that G-d is taking through. look forward to meeting you in the holy land. dovid

What a great albulm

Since I stopped listening to non-Jewish music, this is one of the first albums I've heard which I'm truly enjoying. Thank you! Looking forward to more.

(25) Joey, May 7, 2013 8:57 PM

I enjoyed this! Thanks and God bless!

(24) Saul Pillai, May 7, 2013 4:40 AM

Thank you - Keep it up

Thank you for sharing this song and the video.
Beautiful lyrics and meaning. I love the beautiful blend of violin with the oriental Middle Eastern style of the oud (gambus) and the flute especially reminded me of my Indian heritage…
Special thank you for sharing the clip at the graveyard. I was touched.

My only suggestion with the video is that I would have been happy with a portrayal of the human diversity within Yerushalayim – Arabic (Muslims & Christians), Ethiopinans etc.
All in all it is good…. keep it up and I look forward for more…

Beautiful, but still could not capture what it feels like to be there.

I thought I would visit again...before the 14 years that have passed since my last visit. This video captured something of what I felt, but I don't think the character/quality of Jerusalem (and Sefad, for me) can even be expressed by any of humanity. One can express what is in one's mind, and even what is in one's heart, but I think what the soul feels, cannot be put into words. We haven't the words...perhaps there are some Hebrew words more apt, but I don't think even in Hebrew there are words so precise, so etherial.

(22) Matty, May 6, 2013 10:46 PM

Thank you for the nice song!

May the temple be speedily rebuild in our days!

(21) Christopher, May 5, 2013 11:52 PM

(17) Steve David, May 5, 2013 2:46 PM

Nice Video, But . . .

Except for a quick view of the Light Rail line, your readers might be mistaken to think that Jerusalem is not also a modern city which many non-Observant Jews also call home.

Dovid, May 6, 2013 2:12 PM

secular musicians, mamila, jaffa street, mahane Yehudah, the arab shuck and beautiful scenery is pretty universal to me. Take another look and enjoy the unity of our people in the undivided city of Jerusalem. Have a great Yom Yerushalayim. Dovid

Awesome

This song expresses exactly how I felt when I went to Jerusalem last year. There is nowhere in the world like the eye of the universe. I pray that I return again. Thank you for writing this song

(9) Bonnie Cohen, May 21, 2012 1:32 AM

Exactly How I Feel

We have lived in Jerusalem since 1994 and every day I fall more in love with Jerusalem and the incredible life I merit to live in the center of the universe.

LET A COOPER, May 22, 2012 8:30 PM

THAT IS SO AWSOME.

WOULD LOVE TO DO WHAT YOU HAVE BEEN ABLE TO DO BUT I AM JUST NOT IN A PASSISSION TO DO WHAT YOU HAVE ACOMPLISHED. ENJOY YOUR SELF.

leta Cooper, May 23, 2012 8:09 AM

I just wanted to say every time I see the written or spoken word of the Jewishpeople it seems like music to my eyes and ears and heart.

(8) Nelson (Nosson) L. Campos, May 20, 2012 5:22 PM

Wonderful!

L'shana habaah b'yerushalayim בשנה הבאה בירושלים

(7) Ruth, May 20, 2012 6:31 AM

Thanks for putting my feelings into a song!

Every time I go visit another place, and I am on my way home (to Jerusalem), my soul literally sings as I enter the city limits. Late one night I was in a bus coming home, I had fallen asleep when my daughter woke me and said: "Mummy, do you know that you're humming?" Its a feeling I can't describe. There's no place like Jerusalem! The irony is its only a place that "feels" like this to the Jewish soul. An Arab bus driver asked me one day why I was going on the bus en-route to the Kotel. I said because its the best place to pray. And he said there was nothing special up there. Its just a place of some old stones.....I guess if their heart is set toward mecca, it is just a place of old stones, but to the Jewish soul, its home, with the holiest place on earth, and there is no place like it in all the earth!

Anonymous, May 22, 2012 8:34 PM

I AM NOT JEWISH BUT THAT IS EXACTLY HOW I FEEL, MAYBE MY SOLE IS JEWISH?

Clara-Donna Ezekiel, May 23, 2012 6:36 AM

My Soul Returns "Home"!

My sentiments exactly! When I first visited the Kotel earlier this year, I cried like I'd never cried before. It was tears of love, joy, sorrow, and every kind of emotion - the best way I can describe it is a feeling that my Neshama (Soul) had found Peace on finally returning to its home.

(6) Tammy Wellman, May 19, 2012 4:17 PM

So Beautiful

Your song touched my soul and made me cry. I want to see this city G d chose for his dwelling place.

(5) Lisa, May 18, 2012 9:55 AM

Almost like being there......

Now that we know what you look like...your next video can be more of the Holy City.......Yasher Koach!

You did a great job of explaining!

Great to hear and see you after all these years. Not surprised that you were able to give over such a rich tapestry of emotions and perspective. I will enjoy this many times. And pass it on. Thanks.
