Actions speak louder than words
T Sovrosky you actually believed that the UN was created to prevent atrocities. That may be what they told the people but Man is a being that does not tell the truth and in Man's hand Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. It was a deception just like the GATT, NAFTA and other treaties were suppose to build the economy they instead destroyed the economy.

Stay on the offensive.
I'm tired of videos and articles are always explaining and justifying Israel's position. We need to stay on the offensive and really go after the inexorable human rights abuses by so many countries in the middle east and africa. This film is a great start

It's a real disease
Fantastic movie! The way the media is obsessed with Israel really is a disease. It's a sickening disease that is slowly poisoning the minds of everyone around..

Have we learned nothing from the past?
The OCID drove a point that the world has failed to see for years now. The whole point of the UN was to establish a governing world body to prevent the attoricities in the holocaust. Since its creation, there have been genocides after genocides with very little media attention, while Israel had been held to such unfair standard compared to these countries. It's time the media engage in fair media coverage and start exposing the real tyrants of the world.

Great Short Movie
This movie is intriguing - the world is pretty much anti-semitic otherwise it would focus it's media attention on the large scale carnage illustrated in this movie – why else would the world be so interested in the demise of Israel? Love the title "OCID" !! Avraham - I too disagree with your comments - Are you thinking about what you are saying? This film is in perfect context!

I agree with Avraham
Avraham (in message #7) makes an excellent point. Readers may be inclined to think that the author feels Israelis are more noteworthy than their African neighbors because of their importance.
October 13, 2009 3:00 PM
I disagree with Avraham. The implication of this film is NOT that Israel has done something wrong. Israel gets blamed for everything and anything. While irrational hatred of Israel is being whipped up worldwide people like the poor child featured in this film are ignored and neglected.
Contratulations to the people who made this excellent film. It is thought provoking and deep. I would recommend that Avraham looks at it again..

Scary that the World is so willing to close its eyes to so much real evil
Great film. I am shocked at the figures and what is happening esp. to children. I can't believe what is done to them. They are so innocent and it is sickening. Why doesn't the UN care about them?
October 13, 2009 4:43 AM
While the facts shown in this video are tragic and unacceptable, are you going to blame all that also on Israel? And by the way, while the numbers are horrendous, I do question them to some degree - where do they come from? Because if they come from the UN, they are not exactly suffering from reliability, do they?
October 13, 2009 1:43 AM
I understand that the message of this video is “why is the spotlight on Israel? There are so many other newsworthy issues that the media is ignoring”. The implication, however, is that Israel has indeed done something wrong – but it is not as bad as the atrocities occurring in Darfur etc. I think the editors of this video need to be more careful about how people will interpret their message. Many people watching this video might have certain assumptions about Israel, Israeli’s, and Israeli policy; without providing any context this video allows critics of Israel to add even more fuel to their misinformed opinions.

a movie that could move hearts
That these atrocities are ongoing around the world is hard to comprehend and yet, it's true. I applaud Aish for airing this video and hope it opens hearts and minds, and makes people not only think but ACT with conscience.

October 12, 2009 9:31 AM
The UN and Media does overly obsess over Israel. I am sure if the UN was a truly just organisation, Darfur would have been sorted out by now.
