I support a Palestinian state in Iraq or even Afghanistan but certainly not on historic Jewish land. The Arab and Muslim countries have huge uninhabited tracts of land. Surely they can spare some for their wonderful "brothers"?

It is for that reason that any Palestinian request for recoginition as a sovereign nation must be rejected without any further discussion. According to international law Arab East Jerusalem is Occupied Territory designated so by the United Nations. Israel's past concessions (withdrawal from Gaza and Lebanon etc.) have not been met in kind by the Palestinians. Now that Mubarak has been overthrown, it appears that the Egyptians will support the Palestinians with weapons and will not honor their treaties with Israel.

Israel never took any land by force. They liberated land stolen by Jordan in 1948. Jordan occupied by force this land until 1967, when the Arabs launched another deadly offensive, while trying to steal more land. Do you even know that Judea is Jewish land. Hence the name!

There are several cities and areas in Europe where the Muslim population has become the majority. For the sake of argument let us take two of those countries: France and Sweden. Now, what is there to prevent the Muslim population in those countries from asking the UN to declare those parts a separate State? They are a majority. They can 'claim' that they are being oppressed and that they need self-governance. They can claim that they need their own place since they have their own religion, culture and laws (sharia). They can even claim that they have occupied that land for the last couple of generations and that the previous settlers abandoned it. It might be a dumb question, but other than power, what would prevent this from taking place?

If one follows soccer (football in Europe) one will know of a soccer club called FC Rosengard. It is a Swedish Club. Rosengard, Sweden has over 50% Muslim population. Will that qualify as a majority? How about a majority of 60% in Roubaix, France? Again, a majority. Where I live a certain political party won with 33% support. President Obama has already said he will veto a UN call for a Palestinian state. But he is pressuring Israel via the EU (France, England , Germany) to adopt Obamas pre-1967 line plan with "Mutually agreed upon swaps". And he repeated this and had his secretary of state repeat this in a tough tone publicly. When Abbas complained that Israeli police tried to stop Palestinians from stonging Jews at the Western Wall Obama did NOT act as angrily nor when Palestinians protested when Israel rebuilt a synogogue in the Jewish Quarter of the Old City that was Destroyed by Arabs in 1948. 5 Arab armies attacked the newborn State of Israel to try to abort it, but the UN did NOTHING to stop or even condemn them! So under that precedent, if UNGA votes for a Palestinian state, and if Israel invaded to crush it, they should consider their own precedent from 63 years ago! Neither the UN nor any country sent an army to protect the newborn Jewish state. So ISrael should remind the Palestinians of this fact before the vote goes forward. Experts on the Israeli/Palestinian conflict argue that a Palestinian state would really be illegal given that Hamas (and Fatah) would relentlessly fire rockets into Israeli cities, which would be much worse than the war between Israel and Hezbollah in 2006 as well as the ongoing assault of years of Hamas firing rockets into Israeli cities like Sderot....Furthermore, I'd like to see more action taken about spreading the truth faster than the lies spread about Palestinians starving in Gaza and being occupied by the IDF while it has been found that there isn't any humanitarian crisis in Gaza, as an official from the Red Cross has found.
