The nitty gritty
It has nothing to do with borders or human rights. The issue is the inability of Muslims to accept Jewish hegemony over "sacred Muslim land" or over any Muslims. If Israel were just another Arab country, there would be no controversy. Of course, if Israel were just another Arab country, it would have achieved nothing over the past 64 years, except for a thriving tourist trade.

We're going to be neighbors for several lifetimes
I doubt the geography on the ground will change too radically through the next few generations. The palestinians have been living in metropolitan clusters for generations. Israel has managed to fill-in the void between these islands of humanity. Israel and the West bank have been cooperating for years. Israel still supply Hamas with basic necessities. The only missing ingredient is a mean to save face for the Palestinians, so that they feel they achieved something. Take an example from Egypt. They did not win the last war, but they were given a good scenario to sell their people, saying that they won. The result was the peace accord.

They Say One Thing, Then Do Another
What is so ironic about Hamas is that they recognize the pre-1967 borders. Borders with who? China? People in Gaza are treated at Israeli hospitals too. Why not these cowards just recognize the State of Israel, while they are at it. Because not doing so, just leads to massive Israeli aerial bombardments, after they fire rockets into Israel. Egypt does not like it either, because they keep intercepting them going into Gaza. President Mohammed Morsi says he will continue to honor the 1979 peace accords with Israel, and called upon Hamas to follow it as a role model for coexistence. Hamas is a part of the Muslim Brotherhood, so really they are the odd man out. But unfortunately, they are putting the 1.5 million citizens of Gaza out too.

Hitler only used negotiations and dialogue to achieve his goal of domination. Only in the final instance did war break out as a result of the invasion of Poland. The Islamic fundamentalists have no desire to negotiate or compromise. It's only their way or death, even to other Muslims who don't submit to or join their way. Israel has a right to defend itself from such malicious and aggressive people and their goals.
Talk with any Muslim who doesn't live in a Muslim country today and they will tell you that a democratic Islamic government leads to a fundamentalist Islamic government. I have spoken with Muslims from Egypt, Morrocco, Turkey, Iraq and Iran and they've all told me the same thing. They don't believe in an Arab Spring, they believe it's the road to disaster.

You cannot talk "Peace" to people who preach "Hate"
When you have generations of a people being taught to hate from the age of 3 or 4 years old, how can one expect to be able to negotiate a "Peace Settlement" with them. Hamas, BDS, and other Muslim organisations have won the media war. It is time that the leaders of Israel realise that kowtowing to the UN, and other so called "Politically Correct" organisations is just a waste of time. We need to take a far stronger stance like the the PM Netanyahu took by allowing the building of another 3000 homes. This is our country we need to do what is right for us, and not bow to international pressure.
