Speech had humbled me.
As an American who love and support Israel, I am so greatful to hear this Democrat explain with clarity the war Israel is fighting and Hamas/PLA has started. This speech should be played on all news channels and social medias!!

The US should make it their responsibility for getting the Gazan civilians out of Gaza. The US is responsible for the elections that established Hamas in charge in Gaza and now it's up to Israeli soldiers to go in on foot to clear out the mess? Without civilians present, Israel would be able to use full force to eradicate those ruthless terrorists that terrorize both Israeli and their own civilians. Let the Senator pressure his own State Dept. to force Egypt to open it's borders that the Gazan civilians can flee and Israeli soldiers can be at lesser risk when they enter to wipe out those gangsters. It is self evident that Israel is not only being ethical in this op but ethical to the point of selfless in their dedication to avoid civilian casualties. Israel needs the outside world to tell them to do "whatever it takes," and those who want to appear "righteous" need to do more than state the obvious.

how soon we forget
Remember on 9/11 when the Palestinians where dancing in the streets! are these the people who the liberals have compassion for !

Kol Ha Kavod Senator Schumer
Kol HaKavod Senator Schumer for having the moral strength to stand up and speak the truth abt. the current situation between Israel and the Palestinians. We need more people in positions of power to do as you have done!
July 15, 2014 2:15 AM
Well said, but someone needs to tell the senator that the PA doesn't have a state
He seems a little unclear on this point. Otherwise very good.
July 15, 2014 12:51 AM
Thank You Senator Schumer
I applaud your courage to say what everyone should say, but few stand up to actually say it. G-d Bless You.
July 14, 2014 9:13 PM
Misisng the point
The truth has been revealed that the killer of the arab teenager was mentally unwell, he had tried to strangle his own daughter! In no way is it considered an act of terrorism towards the arabs. Not only is there no equivalence, the Jewish people have never acted in violence except in self defense.
July 14, 2014 10:35 AM
think about it
considering what Sen. Schumer is true. shouldnt the world realize that the palestinians are only a minority and fanatical. I condemn all fanatics but I dont think that the entire world condemn all of the terrorist's actions
July 14, 2014 3:16 AM
Amen Senator Schumer
Amen Senator Schumer. The world needs to hear your message. It is shocking how anyone could equivocate Hamas and the Palestinnians' countless aggression and terrosim against Israelis and Israel''s attempts to defend itself with causing as little harm to civilians as possible.. Israel spends milions in a war of self defense- imagine how much good Israel could do for the world if Israelis didn't have to spend so much effort worrying about security measures. We as Americans are blessed to live in a country where by and large we don't have the threat of terroism looming over us, whereas in Israel it is a daily threat... how dare anyone attack Israel for defending itself and citizens..

Missing the Point
Why are we Jews? Because we accepted the Torah. What was Hashem's promise for doing this? He would protect us. Do the majority of Jews keep the Torah, especially in the Holy Land of Israel? No. Israel is controlled by blood thirsty zionists who murdered JEWS to get that state. Read about how the zionists sold their brothers for power in the world. They just HAD TO HAVE THAT STATE. Hashem is completely in charge of everything, including all the turmoil going on in Israel. We need to stop being victims and turning to the outside nations for help. Cry out to Hashem for help, instead of crying out to the crooked politicians.
July 14, 2014 11:18 AM
Yes. Thank you for your penetrating truth! It is not the IDF that will save us - how about remembering that G-d doesn't need our assistance to protect His people?
July 14, 2014 4:00 PM
You'd better check what Torah and Sages say
As a person is a closed system, all around him should be seen as the influence of the Creator, and so be it worker or a general from IDF, they are all the means the Creator uses for His interaction with the world. Torah states that the punishment of spies for telling a Bad Tongue on the Land of Israel came from their unwillingness to come to the terms that we have to come to the Land of Israel and to work and to protect it as all the other nations do. Yes, the Creator promises us His Blessing for our following the bestowing way of Life, but there is not a place in the Torah or Sages, where it is written that we shouldn't do anything on our own. Just bring to your mind the episode with the splitting of the Sea, it isn't the prayers that helped, it was a bold action of entering the Sea by Faith above the Knowledge. The Creator doesn't wish us to be dependent, He wishes us to be His co-creators and independent in our understanding of the Purpose of the Creation and our active participation of bringing the World to the Bestowing Level of Existence.Unity is not finding the faults with each other, Unity is the combination of our efforts, no matter that there are still some differences in our understanding of the world around.

You lack basic Jewish knowledge, so wake up too.
While I agree with the first part of your comment, but I may not help noticing that you contradict yourself in your Faith in One G-d, because, if you think that "Israel is controlled by blood thirsty Zionists" without G-d's permission on it, you create at least two powers: G-d and Zionits. I would like to notice as well, that many of those in the Land of Israel who study Torah and keep Mitzvot are still quite far from doing it leShma and have a lot to learn about the Spiritual Wisdom for them not to fall into your mistakes.

A big yasher koach to Charles Schumer!! He he has said everything I feel.
July 13, 2014 7:54 PM
If I could miraculously put myself in the place of speaker after Senator Charles Schumer, I would say:The Senator's speech is based on the assumption that life is a supreme value and that people are accountable for their actions. These assumptions are not necessarily true, unless we make them so. Thus we come to a crux, for it is now up to each of us - every nation, and every individual of every nation - to decide if we agree with these assumptions, or not. Do we value life, or death? Those who value life will stand with Israel. Those who value death will stand against Israel. But it is not for Israel's sake that each must decide, but for their own. Therefore choose life.

Schumer for president!
What a better country the United States would be if Sen. Schumer were president instead of B.O.
July 13, 2014 6:22 PM
In Wholehearted Agreement
This is the first time I have agreed with this Senator. I am very pleased he spoke up regarding how Israel is treated so unfairly in the press. I am shocked by the reporting I read but I continue to dig into the reports and review this site for the truth. I am praying for you, Israel.
July 13, 2014 6:02 PM
And just what have Schumer's party members said?Obama/Kery. A request to Israel to maintain restraint. That moslem from Michigan? Nada, rien, nichevoh, Nothing! Will the USA stop funding Hamas and the Palestinean Authority? Do not hold ypur breath waiting. Will Schumer even propose such action? Hardly.

I am a New Yorker. Charles Schumer is my Senator. I am proud to have such Senator! have
I completely agree! The people of the World are brainwashed and blinded with propaganda. The "Palestinian People" do not exist and has never existed. They were INVENTED by the Soviet KGB in the early 70s for the same purpose as other enclaves such as annexed territories Abkhasia, South Ossetia, "Dniester Republic", Crimea Peninsula and now Donetsk and Luhansk regions of Ukraine being created. I know, I grew up there (In Ukraine) and lived in Russia for many years before I emigrated to the USA. The "Palestinian People" are part of Arabic people who happened to live in the place that belongs to the Jewish People. You may not know, but infamous Yassir Arafat spoke Russian. Too many horrible things in the World were originated in Kremlin.
July 13, 2014 9:42 PM
I lived in Ukraine for 30 years! I was born in Lviv. I firmly stand with the Russian Government. Crimea was always Russian land and only Russians live there, even now. It was annexed by Hruschev, a UKRAINIAN. Besides Ukraine regards the Crimean's as outsiders and does't give attention but Russia does because Crimea is there people. Besides Ukraine was always split into two sides, even in the USSR, East, where everyone talked Russian and West were everyone talked Ukrainian. Therefore Donetsk and Lugansk and purely Russian. Besides Ukrainian's and Russian's are both of Slavic culture.

Contest of Senator's speech
It would be helpful if you would, in your accompanying text, to tell us where and when Senator Schumer gave this speech.
July 13, 2014 7:12 PM
Ditto - yes - where was this speech made?
We need more brave US politicians to speak this truth in support of the tiny democracy in the Middle East.
July 13, 2014 3:54 PM
TY Sem Schumer!
Our leaders all need to hear more of this!!!!
July 13, 2014 3:00 PM
I am not Jewish but I stand with Israel. Every voice counts. Shalom
July 13, 2014 2:49 PM
Schumer ditance yourself from Obama
I wish to request Chuck Schumer to desist from financially supporting Obama The latter is one who propounds this moral equivalence Schumer is thus in a contradictory position: on the one hand he opposes this moral equivalence and on the other he enables it Chuck, get this straight :Obama is bad news It is time you realize this Your proximity to Obama is washing off on to you
July 13, 2014 2:24 PM
He's right, of course. Even a broken clock is right twice a day.
July 13, 2014 6:54 AM
Hopefully it's the first, but not the last lesson.
Thank you to Senator Charles Schumer for speaking our loud in defense of the Israeli Path, but it sounds as a drop in the ocean of the differences there are between the group of people from the Gaza Strip including Hamas and the People of Israel. There is hardly a point of comparing a brilliant to a glass, because for those capable of seeing the difference it is too evident to make it the topic for the discussion, for those who may not tell any difference it is too difficult to explain the properties of brilliant and glass, but by Faith about the Knowledge, I do believe, that it should be started from a first lesson, which is given by the Senator to the UN President and the world. But as bold as this first lesson may seem to be, the real courage and dedication is cored in the permanent education of the world, presidents and nations on what the People of Israel were chosen for and what they have been standing up for more than 3300 years: the possibility of the willing overcome of the egoistic nature and showing the world the bestowing ability of existence. The Sages state that if they say that there is a Wisdom in the other nations, do believe it, but if they say that there is the Spiritual Wisdom in other nations do not believe it. We have to continue learning This Wisdom ourselves, we have to teach this Wisdom to the others. G-d Bless the People of Israel and Help them bring the world to the Purpose of the Creation.
