Who is Guilty of War Crimes in the Gaza War?

Israel is accused of a disproportionate response to Hamas rocket attacks. Is this accusation true? How does Israel compare to other military forces fighting asymmetrical wars?

same old, same old...

We've been having this insane argument with the world for years already. It's the same pattern that keeps repeating itself: Israel is attacked, Israel goes in to destroy the launchers, making every effort to avoid civilian casualties. Hamas puts its citizens in the line of fire and cries in front of the cameras and the UN. And Israel gets the flack. They're making plans for another round, with newly built tunnels made with cement that could have been used to build up their own resources (apparently the 'occupiers' don't allow any aid into Gaza. Somehow they have enough money and material to build tunnels and weapons to be used against Israel!) G-D is keeping score. They'll get what's coming to them one day. May that day be soon!

Thank you

Dear Aish.com, Thank you so much for posting this concise video clip that underlines Israel's consideration for human life while Gaza was attacking last summer. I support the Israel Defense Forces unconditionally. I think its up to all of us, especially for those of us in the Diaspora to stay much better informed about our Eretz Israel.

A simple (if cruel) solution

Since biblical times, enemy territory - be it cities or fortifications -

were besieged and food (and water) cut off, until the enemy surrendered, with no precondiitions. Since Israel is blamed for every evil under the sun, what is there to lose? Let the bleeding hearts scream their heads off, and "the world" continue to condemn Israel (which they'll do no matter what). There is no other solution.

disproportionate response

The response WAS disproportionate. It was too mild a response. Obviously it didn't teach the Arabs a lesson not to lob 3000 rockets into Israel because they are ready to do it again. When IS the response going to be big and hard enough to finally end it all? The IDF must go in and kill the leaders of of HAMAS once and for all. Stop being concerned about the "bleeding hearts" who think ti is possible to make friends with someone who wants you dead. It's time to join Egypt and wipe out the Hamas. The people in GAZA will thank you.

No violence, no response!

This has got to be the most idiotic discussion I've read and heard about for some time. Here's a clue people....

If nobody attempts to fire missiles into Israel then they never fire back in response in the first place. The international community is made up of racists and bigots, and a lot of them are located in the UN.

It's called COMMON SENSE for a reason despite it so uncommon.

Would they want a "proportionate" response?

Those who insist that Israel should only mount a proportionate response to missile attacks haven't thought it through all the way. Such a response would mean firing an equal number of badly-guided and inaccurate missiles toward population centers in Gaza, the West Bank and Lebanon with no warning and no concern about where they landed. Would that really be a good thing for them? It would certainly be far less expensive for Israel and a lot easier, but I don't think anyone would be happy with the outcome.
