Only one outcome.
It does not matter if we sign your petition to the UN or not. They do not care what the average US citizen thinks. It may make you feel better, but it is a waste of time. Sooner or later Israel will have to fight another war-Palestinian state or no Palestinian state. Sooner or later young Israeli solders will have to risk their lives to recapture the ground that their fathers captured in the previous war. Land that was foolishly given back by the government. If a unilateral Palestinian state is declared there will be war. If not, Iran will not stop arming Hamas until full fledged war breaks out. The results will be the same and we Jews had better face this reality and prepare.

No "palestinian" state
I agree with you but I don't think you went far enough. There are NO "palestinian" leaders who are "moderates." There are no Arab "peace partners" and that includes Jordan and Egypt. The "two-state solution" is a fantasy because ANY recognized country called Palestine will have as its aim the destruction of Israel. The "refugees" are the problem of the Arab countries, not Israel. Jerusalem is not up for discussion; all of Jerusalem must remain in Israel. So, I agree that the petition will not work because Israel can not make peace with terrorists and that is what the "palestinians" are...all of them.

"Successful Egyptian Peace Treaty"?
Is this video simply outdated, or hasn't anyone there been watching what's happened in Egypt with Morsi and the Muslim Brotherhood taking over? The only peace treaties Muslim's make are ones that serve their ultimate aim of subjugation and domination, which it's no secret is their goal for Israel.
Forget the "two state" dream of delusion. There is only one state of Israel to the west of the Jordan River.

Remember your school history!!!
The US unilaterally declared its independence and then fought and talked - about the Canadian border till after the 1812 war.
Distinguish between the declaration of a Pal state and the conduct of itself and its non -state actors.
If the Pals did get their declaration then withthe package they are saddled with state responsibility to deal with their neighbours and to deliver their population in any deal about borders or trade and social intercourse - connubium et commercium in the formula of Roman foreign policy - and nobody denies they were experts in law and war.
If the total incompetents who run Palestine Arab policy have a state it of itself does not make peace, and does not make the borders they want, if they do not have the signatures of their neighbours. Just look at Germany, Poland and France in WW II. All three existed but the borders changed twice with France and three times with Poland. Further if the Pal Arabs claim a state and a war then Israel is entitled to clobber them for warlike misbehaviour and it is the responsibility of the Pal State to steward its population through that strife - not an obligation of Israel to feed them and wipe their backsides.
One reason for the prolongation of the Arab War on Israel's independence is that the Arabs have not as yet had to take the full consequences of their belligerence. A Pal State declaring and waging war is in sin as a state and as such will be in Mr Bush's phrase, "In deep doodoo."

"If Palestine would put down their guns, there would be no war...if Israel put down their guns, there would be no Israel."
October 4, 2011 4:33 AM
Dangerous, but not funny.
This is supposed to be funny? The Arabs (Jordanians, Egyptians, Syrians, etc. - definitely never 'palestinians' ) have shown they won't keep any agreements except as it benefits them, but more importantly , hurts Israel. They state clearly that deception is a tool they use, especially for war, to get their way. Knowing this, we are still saying we believe in a two state solution. We are not guaranteed to win any war with these evil barbarians and we are going to negotiate a solution which nearly cuts Israel in two and cede them the high ground wit a part of Jerusalem for their next staging ground. This is Dangerous and stupid, but it certainly is not funny.

Isrealis are the true friends of the US and they will destroy the palestines in a war.
The combined middle east Muslim population will lose a war with Isreal which the Muslims will force on Isreal if the UN grants statehood to Palestine.

Thanks Peter for the comment, I agree with you 100%. Why cant these people understand that Israel is so small compared to all the nations around it , why do they want land from a nation that is small. Why dont they take or ask for land from a nation that is way bigger than Israel, They figure since Israel is so small that they can bully them but they are in for a big surprise says the Lord, he will destroy all of Israels enemies, he will put hooks in their jaws and destroy them. Let them come they will learn the hard way . God Bless, Bill,R

At all times we must stress The West Bank is Judea and Samaria
The world hears West Bank and Occupied Territory. We must always use the correct biblical name in speech. In maps use bolder font and in smaller font strike out the names given by the UN, EU and others for the world to see what is true and what is false

we don't seem to get it
Cute video but it's sad to see we just don't seem to get it. This is all our fault for being peace-loving and generous. The moment we say we "support a Palestinian State" we are doomed because we give up our most compelling argument: The fact that Palestinian Arabs were given a state by the UN in 1946, it is called Jordan. The proposed new Palestinian State is nothing more than the Arab rejection of the Jewish right to live in Israel and only the first step in their aspirations to take Jerusalem, Eilat and Tel Aviv. As for the 700K Palestinian refugees who lived in present-day Israel, they had an option: become peaceful full citizens of Israel with more civil rights than ANY Arabs in the Middle East or move to Jordan or other Arab countries (if the other Arabs would only accept them). As for the 800K Jewish refugees of Arab countries who were either slaughtered or expelled in 1948: Nobody talks about them because (A) they are only Jews, their blood is cheap, and they already cry about the Holocaust so why add another few hundred thousand deaths to their toll and (B) because Jews just don't do refugee camps - Jews expelled from Arab countries who survived 1948 didn't wine about being expelled (how about their right of return to Bhadad and Teheran!) and simply got right back to work and became scientists, farmers and builders of Israel, that blessed most successful, inovative, moral, just, benevolent, democratic, and peaceful country in the world. DO NOT GIVE AN INCH! Apeacement NEVER works. Today's events are no different than apeacing Hitler when he took over Checkoslovakia or Poland. The world is simply exchanging Arab oil for Jewish blood.

declaration of palistinian state a selfish agender
the time has come for the isrealite people to stand up and defend their land, l will want a palistenian state but not with their selfish agender that the have benn preaching that the peace with isreal is a temporary one until the wiped all the jews. UN should take note, not to do something that wiil undermine the world body.

This proposal is as reasonable as an indeppendant Palestinian State. UN should deal with other issues like syria, kurdistan, turkish human rights violations, North Korea, & keep a real neutrality in dealing with Mid-East.

No need to mention two-state
I appreciated the clip, but was disappointed by the twice mentioned "two state" idea. If the religious people in Israel - Aish in the heart of Jerusalem - cave in to the notion of two states, who will uphold the prophetic dream of One Jewish state, under G-d?
September 21, 2011 6:25 PM
2nd half ok, lose the jokes!
I would not forward this on, because the jokes were, no offense, lame. and not funny. and i believe will do nothing to stimulate thought among those on the fence. and it made it unnecessarily long. Lose the joke, go into the sincere aspect.

No Palistianian state
I think a really good case can be made for this is the time G-d is restoring the land, as it says in the prophets. Backing away from possessing what G-d is restoring is the ultimate unworthiness.
September 21, 2011 5:43 PM
why there will never be peace
There will never be peace because as long as Israelis and Palestinians are living side-by-side, the Israelis will always be more economically successful. Sad fact, maybe, but true. Jews are and have always been hustlers, hard workers, and people who can adapt to any situation. The Arabs, not so much. It's their wounded pride that ever has and ever will make them hate us.
September 21, 2011 5:30 PM
The pen is mightier than the sword
As long as Hamas has political power Israel will be in their cross hairs. When these morons teach their children to dress and think their ideology from an early age, generation after generation, nothing wil change.
Israel has produced many Nobel prize scholars, that has improved humanity immensly, the PA received one by default the terrorist Yassar Arafat, who did nothing except become a friend of Jimmy Carter another enemy of Israel....
September 21, 2011 4:58 PM
I agree 100% with this video
Until Israel is acceptd by the Arab nations as a rightful State, peace will NEVER be obtained.
September 21, 2011 4:21 PM
Peace is supposed to be mutual
Arabs live in all parts of Eretz Yisrael. Are Jews allowed to live in Arab countries? Will Jews be allowed to live in any future "Palestinian" state? Were Jews allowed access to Kever Rachel, Ma'arat Ha'machpela, Kotel before the Six-Day War? I think that this movie is simplistic - NO, we don't want to give away any parts of Eretz Yisrael, even if the answers to any of these questions was yes - Hashem gave sovereignty to the Jews over parts of Israel - why would we give any of it away???
September 21, 2011 3:58 PM
All correct except kicking UNO as such
This whole production is OK, even the explanations of the No 1 reason, "That the UN proposed it." However that titular kick at the UN on principle is very wrong because the USA created the UN and the League before it as a method of (a) parliamentarising World politics instead of a power free for all. In this the UN actually is a very useful clearing house to all while the score of rich kids have their own "Paris Club" in the OECD (b) because the USA expected to run its affairs in the world its way, more easily through such a system. At the time that meant subverting the Empires of the European powers not without some pomposity in lending Uncle Sam's right arm to little powers against the then still rivals of the US ambitions. Mind, as China and India return to their relative positions in the planet's power stakes the USA may still need UNO for its original purposes.
Finally if you want to guy the UN it makes more sense to get at its multitude of tiddling states: 25 of the 183 or is it 194? are under a million population (including 16 island and coastal enclave members under 100 000) which would all have been better left under the jurisdictions of their former empires Including Yap and Palau under the US and are currently so many buyable votes as in 18th century Poland or medieval bishops councils. The median of the membership is the small group including Israel and Switzerland of states of 7 million; and the mean average is the group of states of 30 millions population. Uncle Sam might yet need all these votes so do not kick the dog mess.

A unilateral declaration of a Palestinian State is akin a DECLARATION OF WAR AGAINST ISRAEL
The solution is the annexation of Judea and Samaria/Shomron and give the local DISARMED Arabs self determination... They belong to same group of Arabs of Jordan that are 79% of Jordan Population.
These Arabs are the remnants of Arabs that the King of Jordan implanted on the ancestral Land of Jewish Patriarchs and Matriarch figuring he would rule it at perpetuity... Notwithstanding the King of Jordan negative declaration these people should be forced/persuaded to go to back to Jordan.
September 21, 2011 3:44 PM
State of Israel
Why do the Arabs not like Israel called the 'Jewish state of Israel', and why is it called as such instead of simply 'the state of Israel'?
September 21, 2011 3:42 PM
Negotiation is the wrong answer.
I'm really shocked that you're endorsing negotiations and a Palestinian state. If you say 'land for peace' long enough, you actually believe it. I don't. The answer to the 'peace process' comes from within ourselves and from the Torah. Within ourselves, we need to promote unity within the Jewish people. The Torah left us with a solution - to walk in G-d's ways. When we have unity and Torah, our enemies will crumble.
September 21, 2011 3:26 PM
Against Palestinian Nation
Impossible considering a nation of terrorist.
Is the world getting crazy?
September 21, 2011 3:25 PM
Its a mistake that arabs palestinians themselves will eventually pay dearly ...
September 21, 2011 3:19 PM
This is leftist nonsense!
There is no peace process, there is only the Arab hope for the destruction of Israel by all means at their disposal. The Two-State-Solution was put in place in 1922, its called Jordan! The Arabs got their state but refused to allow the Jews theirs. They still refuse to allow the Jews their state and plan for it ellimination.
The UN will be in breach of its charter (article 80) yet again if it allows a resolution on ceding land to the Arabs west of the Jordan river. Does international law and treaty mean nothing when it supports the Jews?
September 21, 2011 3:16 PM
Was the UN mandate in 1948 unilateral? Was a UN mandate OK then?
Why could the details not be worked out after the declaration?

What Arab "Spring"?
I agree with the one who said that all we are seeing in the so-called Arab spring is a changing of the old Islamists for a new and more dangerous variety.
Not only is the new guard dangerous but it is extremely smart. Look at how it has much of the Western media believing that it is favourable to the West and have the best interest of its own people at heart!
I challenge anyone to show me a Moslem country whose leaders have its people at heart, or that genuinely loves the West. The West and its media are in for a rude awakening, when the true beneficiaries of the "Arab Spring" emerges.
September 20, 2011 2:06 PM
Don't go against the Almighty
While you think you are smart by giving the impression that a PA state in the land of Israel if genuine peace would result. You are simply foolish. G-d swore this land to the Jewish people and to give the impression that you deny G-d's word is simply suicidal. Yom Kippur is coming, you can still do tshuva. (NO JOKE)
September 21, 2011 11:12 PM
I hate to say this, but your comment is a rather foolish one. I am thoroughly zionist and believe in everything you have said, as a matter of fact, I resent the partition idea because it seems to me that Eretz Israel was always meant to be Jewish homeland. However, we must not blind ourselves with G-d's promises so as to forget his commands, and G-d commands us to create peace on Earth. And if dividing Eretz Israel is what it takes to give our People complete peace, finally, then I am all for it.
September 15, 2011 10:20 PM
Why does the "Palestinians" want to be a state. They already are. They are called Arabs.
September 11, 2011 2:24 PM
It looks like the "Arab Spring" is going to become a long ,cold, bleak winter as far as Egypt is concerned;Libya will go the same way.Basically one gang of thugs has replaced the old gang of thugs. As far as the "rebels" are concerned the former rulers, detestable as they were, were not moslem enough. All that excited ,juvenile ranting by the lefty liberals of the BBC about democracy in these countries just shows how little they know about these people,or want to know. The old saying about better the devil you know comes to mind.
September 11, 2011 6:13 AM
Maybe edit this movie
How can you call the "peace" treaty with Egypt as successful. Read today's papers. The Egyptians attached the Israeli Embassy in Cairo. Only a desperate call from Obama (who was responsible for kicking out Mubarack and putting these Islamic terrorists in power in the first place) averted a blood bath.
September 21, 2011 3:05 PM
You are mistaken
It was not the egyptian government who attacked the embassy, it was a rioting mob. The government went in and rescued the security guards. The question is what the government will do, will they support/create terrorism or work with Israel to thwart it.
September 10, 2011 3:08 PM
Please pray for the peace of Jerusalem.
September 9, 2011 7:06 PM
Palestine is really a district that latterly was part of syria;before that ,amoungst others,it was a part of the Byzantineb EmpireJews have always lived there. It subsequently became part of the Ottarman Empire.when that collapsed after the first wold war,it fell to the British ti administer this area which was declared to be no longer under Turkish sovereignty. In 1918 the Balfour declaration for the Jewish homeland in a part of the palestinian area.in 1923 75% of the districxt was set aside for Arabs, this became Trans-Jordan.In 1948 the Arabs of trans-Jordan occupied the West bank, becoming Jordan and possessing 80% of the land. The idea that "palestine was ever a separate sovereign state is a myth.It had statehood but wanted the Jews off the land totally. It refused to accept it's own statehood unless the Jews were removed.Originally of course, way back, the area was part of Judea and Jews lived there. The only obstacle to peace are the anti Jewish Arabs.
September 9, 2011 10:39 AM
Why is the US wimping out?
In 2000, Hillary Clinton declared: “It must be clear that any unilateral declaration of Palestinian statehood would be entirely unacceptable and should be met with a cutoff of United States assistance.”
September 8, 2011 3:24 AM
Has anyone thought of the king of Jordan taking
the Palestinians in or near Jordan. Originally they
were auspices of Jordan. Israel should not have to
bear the brunt of the "poor Palestinians."

Why the uniteral declaration from the independence od Palestian State
First of all the palestinian must recognice the State of Israel. Second: the palestinian must sitt in negociation with Israel for determinat the bothers of their States....
It is more important, UNA can't proclamed or reconognice
a palestinian state without Israel determinated their bothers...Ana Raquel Nuta

The US constitution does not apply abroad
Elia and others should note that the US Constitution caused scandal and remained so as the only form of government till very recently without "an establishment of religion." The point was not to tolerate Jews and Moslems but to stop Christian sects fighting. It was only early in the 20th century that Emile Combes in France systematically separated Church and State to stop Papal interference. Probably all other states till 1945 including the USSR anti -religious clauses, had religious clauses or practice in government. The Irish certainly considered themselves a Roman Catholic state and people, and the clause had to be withdrawn as part of the "Good Friday Agreement". All Arab states except Lebanon have a Moslem identity clause. This is precisely the spanner in the works of peacemaking the Arab and Moslem Worlds are outraged that a non Moslem - a kaffir - state has succeeded in wrenching back some of the Moslem and Arab outrageously imperialist conquests - and do not think they have forgotten Spain. One of the bin liner's last releases was outrage at the loss of Spain and a jihad call to re-take it. Just in case anybody is wondering given teh Colonists rebelled for their rights as Englishmen, the UK still has an official religion. The Queen is head of the Church of England which only tolerated non-Anglican [Episcopalian] from the Toleration Act 1689 till all religious restrictions were withdrawn with Catholic Emancipation in 1829 but Roman Catholics still had to sign a loyalty pledge to H M's Government to hold public office till Baldwin's Catholic relief Act in the 1920's.
September 10, 2011 8:51 PM
the Western attitude amazes me
The more I see of the vicious ,hate-filled rantings of the moslem world against Israel, and then read the remarks ,and witness the behaviour of the self styled liberal elite with their determination to isolate and then destroy Israel, the more amazed I become that the Western powers can not see the shere wickedness of what they are engaged in.These Moslems are submerged in the soul destroyng hatreds that manifests themselves primarily in the irrational and disgusting anti semitism every bit as potent and fanatical as the insanity that gripped Germany .That madness and dance with evil led to suffering, misery and death to millions of Jews and catastrophe and shame and the burden of guilt for Germany.Yet the "liberal" bourgeois left do not seem to be able to recognise the same thing happening all over again. Is the tragedy to repeat itself? We must pray not.Israel is strong, her people free and courageous, but I fear for them if the West abandons them because it is in thrall to the moslem world. The history of Islam is dark indeed, drenched as it is in blood and steeped in the misery and suffering of it's millions of victims. If the moslems take or are allowed to take the land known as Palestine I fear that Israel will be in grave peril.Never give in!,never surrender! Put your trust in God and in His providence. The main part of the puzzle is America. How will she act?Surely she will be guided into the right path.Israel must not be abandoned!
September 7, 2011 4:02 PM
It is not a laughing matter. Your ending comments were more on the mark> you might also emphasize that Israel is only ninemiles wide at its narrowest point. Also, who are these "moderates"?In the "arab spring', those so called voices for democracy are being drowned out by the Islamic fundamentalist masses. I haven't heard from too many "moderates" in Israel, either. I think that by holding out this idea that the moderates can make a difference, we are ignoring the reality that they hate us, and that in the end of days, the ultimate conflict is between th e A rabs and the jewish people. If we do teshuva, we can avoid a confrontation, nor by relying on "moderate" Arabs.
September 21, 2011 3:11 PM
I'm not laughing either. The whole idea of a comedy intro on this topic is tasteless and diminishes the real information that follows.

Answer to Anonymous Sept. 6.
The reason why the USA is a Christian nation is because it was founded by Christians & Christian principles, and the reason Israel is a Jewish nation is because it was founded by Jews on Jewish principles - Judaism. The same reason why Saudi Arabia or any other Arab country is an Islamic nation - because they were founded on Islamic principles. In Christian nations, and in the one Jewish nation of Israel, those of other religions are not second nor third rate citizens. They have equal rights. Such is not the case in nations which were founded, and are run by the Islamic religion. Your argument is not based on fact. If "Palestinians" (Arabs, really) do not and will not accept living in a nation which is founded on Jewish or Christian principles or their religon, it is because their religion of Islam is intolerant of all religions outside of Islam, and penalizes Muslims who accept any other religion. The problem, then, is not with "others" i.e. Jewish or Christian nation, but with them - the Islamic religion. It is they who need to ask themselves what is wrong with their character development that keeps them from adapting or accepting differences in religions in other nations - whether they live in them or not.

Palestine was not a Moslem state
I agree with your posting but Islam is an interloper in the Middle Eastern countries.Arabia, where Muhammad first started his Allah based religion was pagan, worshipping many gods, associated with the moon and stars, allah was(and is)a pagan deity elevated to parity with God by Muhammmed. The Arab tribes, including thev Quaraysh, muhammeds own people, were converted by slaughter and pain of death as was all Arabia. The "Cube" in Mecca where the pagan idols were kept was appropriated by Muhammed for the purpose of worshipping allah alone. On his death-bed Muhammad commanded his followers to drive Jews and Christians from Arabia, which they did. Then they proceeded to subjugate by slaughter and fear and slavery all the surronding lands which were practically all Christian and Jewish, except Persia which was mainly Zoroastrian. The existing cultures were eradicated as is the instructions of islam and most of the populations killed, forced to "revert"(as Islam has it) or reduced to dhimmitude. The Arabs actually have no right to any of those countries.Islamic Imperialism is the only imperialism that does not give independence to it's colonies-ever.What it takes it owns for ever.Of course any form of revision of Islam is forbidden and treated as apostasy,so it is very hard for it to ever evolve it's thinking. In fact Islam does not think,it obeys.Like an expert who no longer thinks,he knows.

No real other options
Palistinians wont accept Netanyahu's sticking insistance on recognition of Israel as a JEWISH state. I am opposed as I would be to the US as a Christian state or Maylaysia as a Moslem state. Such actions makes non-Jews, Chreistians, moslems etc into third class citizens or perhaps not even citizens.
September 9, 2011 6:20 PM
I think that is nonsense
There is absolutely no evidence or reason to think that such a thing would happen.Israel has moslems,Christians ,atheists etc living happily in Isael;they are not treated as third class citizens.Israel is a democratic country with free and independent law courts;such discrimination would be challenged.Anyway there is nothing in Judaism that advocates treating non-jews as inferior. This business about opposing a "jewish" state is a red herring.Any state that had Jews running it would be opposed by the Palestinian leadership.Actually Malaysia is a Moslem state, ask the Christians how they are treated there by the moslems,or any of the other beliefs. They ARE second class citizens. If Israel was opposed to non Jews in Israel they would have driven out the other religions long ago. They don't think like that or behave like that.I think you are confusing Israel with all the other countries in the area;they DO discriminate against other religions.

why I signed the petition
I believe we're all running in CIRCLES. I honestly do. I actually do not feel more negotiations are going to bring about concensus in this everlasting issue, because nobody is really on the same page, meaning co-existence, and statehood. It's more about "in" fighting, as to who gets what.
For me, for the longest time, having spent time reading so many books, about whose lemon trees, and about the history of the Middle East from both sides, and in listening hard to both sides, I do deeply feel a TWO STATE SOLUTION is actually not the answer. Call me a HERE E TIC, because I see, deeply see, that we are all in this together. I see a ONE STATE SOLUTION.
OK. How does this ever happen? Given terrorism, given hatred, given wounds that keep on getting worse. Are we all not bleeding enough?
We have a small country, a postage stamp, really, and a country that is felt to be Promised, Sacred Land, to the Jews, and yet this story has another part, and that has to do with others, who are also, brothers. Yes, really, that OLD story.
So.. we must resolve this by expanding out on what we call borders, and making the desert bloom, and this means bringing the Egyptians and other Arab States into the conflict, and into a new kind of resolve, that has to do with a different kind of Solution.
I see it. I work with words. The solution just might, be, Solution, namely the greening of the desert. I have seen the desert in bloom. It can be, Paradise.
So yes, consider me totally "off the wall". I have been to the wall, to Jerusalem, to the wailing wall, enough times, in my waking and sleeping hours. Words deconstruct for me. There is a story, a back story, that just might, bring us all HOME and to the negotiating table, if anyone ever takes the time to read what I am saying or to look at my diary at Brown University.

To the best of my knowledge, the UN declared the Palestinian State in 1948. Is there going to be a duplication?
September 11, 2011 2:09 PM
Let's hope not,one is enough!
September 5, 2011 6:21 PM
no to another Arab State
The comments here are ridiculous.
Why does there have to bbe another Arab state. There are already 22. I say declare all of the areas won from Arab agression with the help of You Know Who to be integral parts of Israel. Somebody will be upset too bad.
Afraid of war? This is the only way peace will finally reign.
September 5, 2011 6:12 PM
Give It To Them
I say let the Palestinians have their state. Close off all borders with Israel. Stop providing them with aid from Israel or from the US. And let them try it on their own. See if they can control their own population. Build their own economy. Provide food, medicine, electricity, clean water, and jobs for their own people. It is time for Israel to stop giving them Palestinians all this charity while they constantly attack the hand that feeds them.
September 6, 2011 2:37 PM
This was done in Gaza and see what happened
Lyone, in August 2005, Israel forcibly removed all the Israeli residents of Gush Katif (Gaza) for the exact experiment you propose above. Since then, Gaza has armed to the hilt, fired many thousands of rockets into Israeli towns, continued with terrorist actions killing and maiming Israelis and kidnapped a soldier, Gilad Shalit. This is not the sort of "control" over its own population that Israel can ever tolerate, so let's not be flippant about letting Palestinians "try it on their own" at our expense.

No to Unilateral Decision
A unilateral decision will not bring peace for many reasons. Some of them are:
-There is so much proof worldwide that Muslims will always take lands that they will justify as ancestral domain. This doesn't matter if there are other ethnic groups in the area much less respect the same "ancestral domain rights" that others have.
-Weren't the Arabs in Palestine given a state west of the Jordan already, a state which they failed to govern? Why insist for
for more again?
-Once a Muslim land, it is regarded as Muslim-land-for-Allah in perpetuity, a big disgrace if the same land is occupied by other ethnic groups that does not have the same ethnicity that they have. If Sunnis cannot stand Shia etc., how can it stand other groups especially non Muslims? Muslims living side by side with another non-Muslim group will not bring peace. A pretext will always be found to justify another claim for more.
- A unilateral decision will be welcomed by the Muslims/Palestinians but will not be respected for long. Muslims will only respect affairs conducted according to Sharia. Anything outside of that is regarded as foreign-influenced on them and therefore is only temporary.
-Let them negotiate on the table with the Israelis for additional domain. Their direct participation on the table may do them better and hold agreements stronger. Better yet, give them back part of the Jordan that was originally drawn out as land for the Palestinians.

Enough is enough; No second Palestinian State desired
Enough is enough ; the Arab population was officially given a state by the UN in 1948, namely the land east of the river Jordan and the Jews the land west of the river Jordan; result 6 armies tried to throw the Jews into the sea; the Arabs cannot make their occupation of Shomron and Judea legal by proclaming a second Palestinian state now; when Arabs living west of the Jordan river want to rule themselves let them do so from Jordania; lately Israel withdrew from Gaza for peace and what did it bring no peace at all only rockets and murder of Israeli civilians

there is no such thing as a moderate Islam. You will never find the moderates voicing their opinion or demonstrating against the actions of the so called radicals. There actions show that they are all the same!
September 5, 2011 4:43 AM
Israel was given all the land
It is insane to set up a terrorist PLO state in Israel.
September 5, 2011 4:20 AM
Both Israelis and Palestinians are out to get as possible through any means possible. There is no issue of morality here; Its catch as catch can and Israel is in the driver's seat. If we accept the above than there's no need to justify Israel's call for an unending Negotiated Settlement all the while dispossessing Palestinians in the West Bank.
September 5, 2011 6:09 PM
Review the Facts
Your comment shows an ignorance of the plain facts. In fact Israelis have always shown great restraint, have provided food and medicine to the Palestinians, have withdrawn when they could have advanced in several battles--all in order to preserve Palestinian life and land. OTOH, Palestinians have never willingly restrained themselves from violence against Israel--or even against other Arabs who they thought were collaborators.
September 5, 2011 3:45 AM
REJECT a unilateral declaration for a Palestinian state.. SEP 2011
A unilateral declaration of a Palestinian state will not bring peace. The palestinians and Israelis share areas of land in the Mi-East, not the UNO, the EU nor the USA. If the proper agreement is not reached by parties directly, it will mean more bloodshed, suffering and anguish for the people of the region. The Palestinians should remember to have their own Tunisian style reform and thus force their politicians to face reality; it is the only future for the young, and there are many of them that oujtnumber their own politicians of all stripes. ONLY thus will they make it palatable to the Israelis as well to really consider peace. It should not be from a position of strength but humbly or with humility. Give a little and convince the Israelis that you are not out there for a continuous war of attrition or their perpetual annihilation. Maybe then there will be a long lasting peace that both sides will be able to profit from. SHOW the world that half brothers within the house of Abraham can live alongside each other and prosper!

why not a Palestinian state...Exodus 23:31...
31.I will set your borders from the Red Sea to the Philistine Sea, and from the desert to the [Euphrates] river, for I will deliver into your hands all the inhabitants of the land, and you will drive them away before you. 32. Do not make a pact with them or with their gods. 33: Do not allow them to live in your land, since they may cause you to sin to Me; that you [might] worship their gods, and this would be a [fatal] trap to you.

The Palastinans should never been given the West Bank
Gaza or any land controlled by Israel in the first place.
Send them back to Jordan

Create a P-state threat around the world.
If the politically correct Jews against Israel, what can we expect from others? Jews do not want to remember the Holocaust, the destruction and expulsion of Jews from all Arab countries. Prior to the establishment of Israel Jews in the Middle East were called Palestinians. Now the haters of Israel want to create, a Palestinian, Arab States on the territory of Eretz Isroel. This leads to the destruction of Israel.
September 4, 2011 7:46 PM
There is no reason why Jews should be barred from buying land or building on unowned land outside Israel. If a Palestinian State is established which includes the settlement, they can live there the same way that Arabs live in Israel But previous posters are right Jordan IS Palestine.

A divided house will not stand.
As a minister, I have compassion for the people in the Gaza Strip and/or the West Bank, for they are victimized by their own people "Hamas."
But as I told an Israeli military in my last visit to Israel, there is a need for a leader who will cry "A divided house will not stand." There are many Arabs living in Israel, working in the Government; some have bussiness; and other are in Christian Churches in Israel normally funtioning without killing each other.
So, some sort of accord could be reached.

PA becoming a new state recognized
no i dont think PA should allowed any access to anything, they need to be barred from UN and taken to criminal court for charges of attacking israel and killing jews and also they need to be charged in being involved with Hamas in Gaza, i know that the UN is so bad now they just dont care about earth's people or lives of those who are innocent and those who suffer they dont care about anything except what they want and how they get it,.well thats sickening because they need to be blasted for this, and americans need to stand up and get a grip and speak out against UN and say NO to PA statehood NO more terrorism the arabs just want to turn israel into arab country to turn it into a terrorist breeding grounds, and worship allah in islamic ways its not allowed, Israel is 100% jewish for the last several thousand years they deny that they are lying to people and twisting people with lies and deceit, i am so tired of it, they need to grow up and say no more, israel is a jewish country and leave it alone. i think its time we get to gather americans and jews togather to new york city to UN and congress and wash DC to speak out against it and save israel and jerusalem and judaea and samaria, these arabs want to kill all the jews to take jerusalem, they dare to think they can they are crazy they cant touch jerusalem, they should know that. i dont trust any american leader in congress and in the white house with Obama he is not to be trusted. and also United nations.is to turn palestinians away. and say NO!!!! to abbas and NO to all arabs they cannot live in israel thats a jewish land and a jewish nation. i will only support Israel and i will only stand with the jews and israel as well that is my ultimate goal, i wont tolerate Ban ki moon's actions he knows he cannot be trust let us all stand in support of israel and her people more now than ever. may israel always exist as it has the right to exist there,

NO to a Palestinian state
Jordan was created as a home for the Palestinians; that is their state. In addition, there are loads of Muslim countries (22) they should move to, while there is just one tiny Israel. Israel is the homeland of the Jews!
September 4, 2011 8:23 PM
I agree. why more arab states?
one more arab state - one more voicesin UN against Israel. Gaza should be connected with Egypt, all "palestinians" in the West Bank should join Jordan
September 4, 2011 5:58 PM
Go United Nations or, to be more explicit, GO FAR FAR AWAY
I truly doubt if the UN has ever had Israel's welfare (with the accent on WELL) at heart. How can they when they are run by the Arab states?

If Jews and others can live in peace in Islamic countries.
If Jews and others can live in peace and cooperation in Islamic countries, why can't the Palestinians do the same in Israel?
Quite a few of my close relatives live in Indonesia for at least 3 generations and are mostly Chinese Christian. They have to take up Islamic names and family names. Yet they manage to work and be happy there
September 4, 2011 4:10 PM
can any one see what is happenong. the so called arab spring and with this arab state recognition with the un is just surounding israel and wanting the jew out. I hope the usa helps Israel at it's time of most need.. The profiecy of the whole world surounding Jerusalem seems to be coming quicker than we think.
September 4, 2011 3:38 PM
Why not agree to the unilateral declaration and then treat the Palestinian entity (it won't truely be a state) AS IF it WERE a true independent state: that is, no more free water, electricity, gas, health care, welfare, etc...to get those things they would need to sign a trade agreement; and to get the trade agreement they would need to make a real peace with Israel.
Re the rocket launchers, they are already in position and being used. But Israel would have a legitimate reason to stop supporting her enemies.
September 4, 2011 3:25 PM
Reaching a civil solution to Palestine-Israel is necessary.
Let's be clear, both sides have legitimate grievance with the other, and unless and until both can trust that the other is acting in good faith, no progress will be made.
The status quo is chaotic and dangerous. Poverty and hopelessness breed the worst forms of behaviour (within the Palestinian areas), and permanent repression is expensive monetarily and politically for Israel. There is also the question of what will emerge out of the "Arab Spring", and whether the new state of states will be more hazardous. One thing that the collapse of repressive states teaches is that people often have unrealistic expectations of what will result, and that disappointment can lead to aggressive behaviour in response to a new form of hopelessness.
Israel also has an internal problem with respect to demographics, and especially the difference in birth rates between jewish and non-jewish citizens. This is the problem of the slow loss of jewish citizens being the majority over time. The question then could become Israel can be a jewish state or a democratic state but not both.
For all of the above reasons, reaching a just and visibly fair solution which offers Palestinians real hope and visible improvement is essential. (A vested middle class with something to lose, and which is educated and employed is far less likely to risk losing what they have gained, whereas a lawless society with unemployed youth without hope can be explosive.)
September 4, 2011 3:11 PM
The existence of Israel is G-d's will for the sake of all mankind
Sadly the world does not yet understand that without Israel there will never be any Peace at all. The Palestinians sole goal is to destroy Israel.
September 4, 2011 3:07 PM
Rewarding terrorist aggression is ALWAYS a bad idea...
To grant the PLO/PA the status of UN-recognized statehood is to reward the evil of government-organized terrorism; a precedent that the world will pay dearly for in the future.
September 4, 2011 2:15 PM
Show your support for Israel
We must show our support for Israel as it seems that once again the survival of Israel is at stake. Creating a PA state without a peace treaty and no recognition of Israel as a Jewish Nation is a serious occurance. September 21 at 11am there will be a rally in support of Israel. Dag Hammerskold Plaza of the UN...be there.
September 4, 2011 1:50 PM
significant numbers of Arabs are opposed
Turning the PA into a UN member state pulls the rug under the PLO being sole representative of the Palestine People both in Gaza,Hebron and Nablus Districts and diaspora ie the notorious refugees lose their status as politcal excuse to maintain hostilities against Israel given that if Palestine is becomes a territorially limited state then the dispute with Israel is cut down to a mere border / frontier dispute and the refugees lose their position in the UN and other international bodies to the P State. This is already frightening several normally vociferous Arab columnists such as Karma Nabulsi in the London's Guardian and Mehdi Hassan in the New Statesman. It will be a backfire prank if the resolution passes and Israel then closes all transit in and out of "Palestine" saying tha t if P is a state it has to talk to us - Israel - as a fellow equal UN member state to open transit and establish a legal negotiated and agreed ratified frontier - not just a de facto border. Finally it is always funny to see US citizens fume about the UN as it was tha tpolitical Calvinist president Wilson who created it and FDR who foisted it for real on the World as a means ofextending the US DEclaration of Independence to European colonial empires to muscle in on trade and so exercise US hegemony.

Let them have their state, but somewhere else
Like other alien, evil nations, let the palestinians have their own state. They should be given notice to leave the Gaza strip, which should then be turned back into desert. They should be expelled from Israel, and our borders be announced and expanded to those of King David's time. Righteous Jews do not negotiate away land has given us.
September 4, 2011 3:22 PM
Biblical Borders-YES! Difficult to defend, but yes.
@Harry: Many loyal Israeli Arabs might want to stay- let 'em. But yes- our Biblical borders would be a great thing. The neighbors would complain to high heaven (and probably attack!!). But we should NOT give away another square centimeter of Israeli land. Sameria and Judea should be declared Israeli once and for all--Arabs who want to stay there should be vetted out the kazoo and/or shown the door, lest another family be murdered. We need to be more proactive. AND we need better PR worldwide!

No Unilateral - Also No Bilateral
It is time for the entire Jewish community to opose any form of Palestinian Statehood other than the states of Jordan, Lebanon, and Syria that already exist on Biblical Israel.
The Jewish Nation is entitled to live on its land without interference from enemies.
September 4, 2011 1:35 PM
Palestinian state? They want Israel to be called Palestine!
In the end there will only be unfortunately one solution! Leveling off Gaza and the West Bank because they don't want their own state. They want Israel! and survival rule teaches us kill the enemy before they kill you! now would the Palestinians think twice if it was them?? Absolutely not! They live to kill! So go Israel and do everything to protect your existence and your people,

THANK YOU ANONYMOUS, your comment is wonderful!I wrote several times in "Juif.org" that Israel should have nuked all these countries A LONG TIME AGO, and they're still in time to do it now. Other "bloggers" callad me irresponsible, crazy, nazi-oriented, and other names. IT IS OUR DUTY AND OBLIGATION TO DEFEND OUR COUNTRY AND OURSELVES AND ELIMINATE OUR ENNEMIES! Israel and Jerusalem are non-negotiable and NON-DISCUSSABLE, we shouldn't waste time trying to prove we're the rightful owners; the hell with these murdering terrorist moslems and their european supporters!
