Our Jewish Hero

Help Lori win $25,000 to inspire Jewish women.

by readers know Lori Palatnik for her popular weekly video blog.

What many don’t know is that Lori is the founder and director of the Jewish Women's Renaissance Project, which brings hundreds of women from all over the world to Israel, with one goal in mind: to inspire them to raise Jewish families.

What you may also not know is that Lori is one of the leading nominees for the Jewish Federation’s “Jewish Community Heroes” campaign – which comes with a prize of $25,000 to further the winner’s communal activities.

More about the Jewish Women's Renaissance Project

JWRP’s "Birthright for Women" trip to Israel is highly subsidized so women (and their husbands) can't say no. In 2010, hundreds of women paid just $699, including airfare from New York, for 10 days of study, touring, bonding and spiritual renaissance.

Ninety percent of participants have children at home, so the impact spreads to the whole family. Based on follow-up surveys, JWRP alumni have started celebrating Shabbat on a regular basis, put their kids in Jewish Day Schools, are more active in other Jewish organizations (Federation, synagogues), have a deeper connection to Israel, and an overall deeper commitment to raising their family in a Jewish environment.

Now that’s a Jewish hero.

A REAL person touching a world

Thank you Lori as you are a true inspiration to me living in Europe now. I grew up in America and only found my Jewish roots in the last several years. I am now living a German speaking area and I only speak English . I am learning so much about being Jewish (Alot from Aish) and I am celebrating what I learn as it is becoming my life-style. Many mornings your articles give me the strength I need for the day. One morning I simply wept as I was listening to you, I said L-rd, I dont know this lady ,but I would like to be more like her as she is a inspiritation to me. You are a REAL person who is making a difference in the world. Thank you so much. Sarah Tonja

Lori, you're a tribute to EYAHT and Aish HaTorah!

As an alumna of EYAHT as well, I am inspired by all that you have done to have a lasting and deep effect on hundreds, if not thousands, of Jewish women and their families around the world!
