Crossing the Line: The Intifada Comes to Campus

This item saddened me to the point of silence, which then caused me to realize that these Palestinian students were doing something and the Jewish students were doing nothing except talking. Is this a flash back to 1936? What is the action plan? Where is the film clip offering the guidance to what action needs to be taken?

Our universities are as racist and intolerent as any institution in the western world because of liberal facilty and administration. Funny how speach codes never apply to folks spouting certain types of hate. To paraphrase Rev. Wright, "The results of Jewish liberalism have come home to roost". To whine about this sort of garbage is sad and pathetic since the protester's actions get the OK from the Jewish "Intellectuals" who teach and run these schools. People to whom Chomsky was a hero. There were no concerns in the movie about protests about the war in Iraq. Sounds like the movie makers approved of protests concerning the liberation of Iraq. If Saddam was not a Amalakite, I don't know who is. Until we Jews can figure out who the bad guys are this movie will continue and continue and continue. Maybe it's time to put the Che tee shirt away.

The proper word for what is and has been going on for the pasts few thousand years is Jew-hate. Anti-Semitism is a “nicer” term for a terrible disease. Having said that, however, I think that I may have stumbled on the reason for Jew-hate; it is a tool that Hashem uses to keep us together. No, that is not blasphemy, just follow my line of reasoning for a moment. How long as Jew-hate been around? From the very beginning when Abraham made the earth shattering conclusion that there is only ONE G-d and that that G-d is invisible. Nu? Go fight that. The first to hate Abraham were the idol shop owners followed closely by their customers who were used to have their little gods made by order. They could SEE their idols and now this fool is asking Abraham to repent? Follow this closely, please. Diamonds are created by pressure from all sides. The pressure is constant and unrelenting until someone comes along and digs it out of the ground. Hashem dug us out of Egypt where we had pressure constantly applied on all sides. Off we go for a little schlep through the water and wind up at Mt. Sinai. There an eternal covenant was forged, we became the apple of Hashem’s eye and he became our one and only G-d. Then all hell broke out! With our miraculous escape from Egypt the pressure on all of us increased with incredible speed. Where are the people who fought us? Where are the people who said that they would knock our lights out? They’re all gone! We ALONE have continued to live; the rest have gone back to the earth from whence they came. Ask a Jew-hater exactly what it is that they do not like about us and they will drag out garbage bags full of excuses, but never, NEVER will one give an answer; they can’t. The one and only authentic answer for Jew-hate is that HaShem has used Jew-haters to pressure us to stick together like super glue. Jew-haters are the reason we still know who we are and, HaShem willing, will always know who we are and why we are WHO we are.

I am a staunch supporter of Israel through and through. I supported it in the wars in Lebanon and in Gaza. I support the security barrier and I support a continued occupation until there is any assurance of security. And as far as university campuses go, I think that the violence and stifling of free-speech that we have seen from the Anti-Israel camp has been nothing short of despicable and is a genuine problem. However, nothing in this video points to anti-Semitism and we do not win the PR war by claiming that it is. Too often I hear a response to anti-Israel comments as either "You are anti-Semitic" or "But Israel has invented so many great things". People who support Israel need to start arguing on the facts - on Israel's legitimate security concerns and it's legitimate human rights record. Calling it Anti-Semitism is seen as a simple cop-out to avoid debate. Let's go through the three D's. Delegitimize. What makes the delegitimization of Israel Anti-Semitic rather than Anti-Israel? Nobody is saying that Jews have no right to live ANYWHERE. Double Standard. This argument tends to imply that no one can speak out on a given issue until every worse issue has been taken care of or unless every other similar issue is mentioned within the same breath. Again, this is not inherently Anti-Semitic. And finally Demonize. People always demonize the side that they are against, but that doesn't mean that that demonization spreads to the entire Jewish faith/community. I love Israel and I stand firmly behind it, but arguing in its favor gets increasingly difficult when others on my side are using flimsy accusations that make others less likely to listen. Is anti-semitism a factor? Very likely, but this accusation is hard to prove and is certainly not proven by the items in this video. In the meantime, use real facts to argue for Israel on an issue-by-issue basis. They exist, they are on our side, and they avoid the semblance of deaf paranoia.

I live in Israel and I saw a Palestinian gunman shoot a Palestinian boy in the back. The boy - maybe his son, maybe a neighbor's child - ran in front of the gunman to throw a rock at the Israeli soldiers. The gunman swung his gun down, shot the boy, then swung his gun back up to shoot again at the Israelis. This actually happened. I never saw an Israeli soldier shoot anyone in the back.

Us Jews and our beloved land of Israel are far too legitimate, far too rational and far too reasonable to negotiate with barbarians. Palestinians and their supporters are unwilling now or ever to hear the truth, so what is the point in even trying to hold disucussions with them? They dont want to hear what the reality is. Israel will always be the whipping boy and I hope that our leaders will finally learn to give the world the finger and do what is right and good for Israel and the Jewish people.

Where are they getting their funding? Are the police being called? - Some of these students definetly look like they are on the verge of violence. College authorities should stop the hate filled insanity the moment the Muslim groups abuse standard civil academic freedeom (which looks like from the beginning). The Muslims have studied hard the protests of the 1960's which helped to sway America to pull out of Viet Nam. Totalitariism always acts this way. I used to be active in an anti-Israel group called Jewish Witnesses for Peace and Friends, in Ann Arbor MI. I left under pressure from my dad & stepmom, but after I left I realized it was basically a cult and I had been brainwashed.

We need to write to college chancellors and presidents suggesting guidlines for proper debate behavior and penalties of expusion for those students who violate. (fWe must enourage the enactment of protected open dialogue )

All Jews should make Aliyah now. GET THE MESSAGE. They don't want us here. LEAVE OF FACE THE CONSEQUENCES. There is NO IDF for JEWS IN AMERICA. START PACKING.

This only goes to show how Islamic is trying to take over other countries, all countries. It is a reminder why we are in this war now, why we have soldiers in the Arab countries, fighting for our freedom, to keep our freedom and our heritage in the United States. Islamic does not come under our laws of Religious freedom, when that law was put it place, there was not Islamic's in the United States. If any country lets this goes on, it leads the country into proverty. It is totally against our forefathers. The spiritual heritage of the United States is Judo-Christian. The puritans were very much Pro-Israel. Our U.S. Goverment was based off of the Torah. The puritans practice more of the Jewish Religion than Christian in there faith beliefs. Were they Jews? I'm sure some were. Us Jews in the United States repect the Christian religion. It doesn't mean we agree with all they teach, but we do repect Christianity here in the United States. We also know Jewish beliefs, is the Spiritual Heritage also. Israel's spiritual heritage is Judaism, or the Jewish faith, not Islamic. Islamic's are crossing a line when they go into other countries and come against that countries spiritual heritage. It must be stopped! We have already seen some of the damage here, with the Economy the way it is now, if this continues at our Universities the Economy is only going to get worse. Everyone needs to respect there countries Spiritual Heritage, whether they are religious or not, because they are benefiting from it. These speeches are Anti-United States!!!!

Much more effort needs to be placed on the history of the crisis in the Middle East, how Jews were exiled from Arab States long before Israel was in existence and how the "Palestinians" came to live in refuge camps. There are those who live in Iraq, and other Arab nations who know and are willing to speak the truth. Walid Shoebat is a perfect example. It wasn't that long ago when he was one day a Jordanian and the next day became a Palestinian.. This has been the biggest historical fact that is NEVER discussed and it needs to become THE topic of conversation. No longer can the lie be tolerated.

The harm starts within us. Our own people and especially the young need to be taught the history of the Jewish land, the facts. I have come across many young Jews who do not know there were Jews in the land prior 1948! and many eyebrows are raised when I describe my family history who emigrated there in the early 18th century. Then provide them with the arguments so they can fight back. PR essential though overlooked by Israel.

Thanks for posting that very telling 6-min. video on college campuses exaggerating the situation in Israel and Gaza. All too often, such situations like these have a lot of passion and rhetoric, but lack the truth, even though it is claimed to be presented as the truth. I don't know if such "passionate" Palestinian activists can really be reasoned with. At any rate, they need to realize the myth and facts of the situation going on over there. Such Palestinian activists need to realize that there is no "occupation/genocide in Palestine" and that peace will come through reconciliation for Israel's right to exist - not by eliminating Zionism - Zionism is probably the most misunderstood word that such Palestinian activists will twist around as "racism". So, how could peace really be achieved if there is such hateful, passionate rhetoric, lacking actual truth (but presented as that), on college campuses that accuse Israel of "apartheid", et al.? And, is it possible that these anti-Israel activists on college campuses and elsewhere really have no case against Israel, despite their overwhelming passion and rhetoric?

I have found that the most harm comes from Jewish students who "understand" the "plight" of Palestinians (who remembers that there were no palestine ever!) how do we teach Jews to see the truth, how do we show them the harm they are bringing. how do we start make journalists accountable for lies they spread??????????????? something should be done - after all there is no real freedom of speech when it comes to Israel - one allowed to criticize it, but nothing else. it is like nothing good is happening there. sad to see and hard to understand.........
