Interesting. His father did not have a beard.. And in the old pictures of Chasidim from the 50s - 60s we can see that not everyone had a beard, dressed in a dark suits or wore a black oddly-shaped hats. It seems there have been a large change since not just based on appearance but in other forms as well.
