MY CHILDREN'S TATTOOS
They didn't want me to see them. They knew how I felt about JEWS and Tattoos. However, when I was very ill in the hospital and they had all come to see me, they were very worried. The doctors were now saying that I was out of danger. So since I was very tired I asked them to spend some time together away from that dreary room. They were gone for hours. When they returned they were acting strange. So, I did what any smart Jewish mother would. I nagged them to tell me what was up! Eventually, they came clean. One by one they showed me their tattoos. What could I say? They had, all four of them gone to a tattoo parlor and in honor of my survival, they had "CHAI" put on their skin. They were showing their Love for me and their Love of Judaism! I was very proud of my children! Listening to the young man recite from his heart made me think that what they had done was to express their JEWISH-ness in a way that was meaningful to them. I thank them in my heart every time I see them. I also want to thank ANDREW LUSTIG for his deep and meaningful words.

Where is God and the Torah?
This atttempt at cultural judaism is pretty interesting. No matter how hard you try it's hard to have Judaism without God and the study of torah. And does he wear tefillin and daven every day and does he belong to a synagogue or any jewish community orgnaztion?

One of the points of this fine video is that judaism can be experienced in many different forms and that it is essential to still feel connected in some way(s). My plea would be be more bold in living your religion, make it count for something. Too many Jews don't know what their beliefs are, don't care, and have nothing to hand down to their children. What is the essence of your judaism? Live it. Don't be so vague and non-commital other than to say,"I am Jewish because I have Jewish blood.". Stand for something.
