BBC: No Rockets from Gaza

by Rabbi Shraga Simmons; Mar 14, 2012 at 04:14:54 AM

I just heard this BBC interview with Dr. Mona El-Farra, vice president of the Red Crescent in Gaza. The world’s largest broadcast corporation gave her a forum to spout the bald-faced lie that there have been no recent rocket attacks from Gaza:

“Let me tell you that for the last four months there were no rockets against Israel and Palestinians respected the cease-fire.”

Listen here (fast forward to 3:00)

For truth-seekers, here's the lowdown on rockets fired toward Israel from Gaza over the last four months:

  • December 2011 - 42 rockets
  • January 2012 - 18 rockets
  • February 2012 - 30 rockets
  • March 2012 - 200 rockets

The BBC are masters at aiding this duplicitous Palestinian cover-up game. A few years back, when Israeli soldiers searched Palestinian homes and found disturbing photos of children wielding machine guns and babies strapped with explosive belts, BBC quoted Palestinian spokesliar Yasser Abed Rabbo dismissing it as "cheap Israeli propaganda." In a later interview, BBC put this loaded question to an Israeli spokesman: "The Mossad has the most amazing forgery capabilities in the world. Why should we believe this is real?"

It also reminds me of the time that Palestinians claimed the Israeli Mossad had set up a fake al-Qaeda cell in Gaza. Israeli spokesmen dismissed it as sheer nonsense, but BBC’s headline trumpeted the Palestinian accusation as if it were undisputed fact: “Israel ‘Faked al-Qaeda Presence.’”

Which raises a serious question: If Palestinians repeatedly use the media to promote outright lies, why do journalists continue to take them seriously? In dealing with totalitarian regimes, Western journalists know to treat spokesmen with due skepticism. (Think of the Iraqi Minister of Information, whom the media dubbed Comical Ali, announcing from Baghdad that hundreds of American troops were committing suicide at the city's gates.) So why are corrupt Palestinian groups not held to those same standards? Even more, shouldn't there be a policy to blacklist those spokesmen who are caught lying?

simple answer to loaded questions

the simple answer to the loaded questions is to remind the media at every opportunity, of the doctrine of Al-taqqiya, a Muslim's "duty" of deception in the name of Jihad; The more the world at large is reminded of the deceptive nature of all radicals, the less credence they'll be given

The BBC is a disgrace to journalism.

The BBC is rapidly becoming a disgrace to the essential art of jounalism.Fair and unbiased reporting of world events is a basic requirement of a democracy. The BBC is a public owned corporation and should be reminded in no uncertain terms what it's job is.A survey into anti Israeli bias in the BBC was suppressed by the BBC when it was finished and they refused to explain why.Lately the head of BBC has admitted bias in many areas but it does not seem to have changed the way they report. The BBC is stuffed with young, wealthy Marxist leaning politically correct heads of department and it is difficult for any reporter who does not share their views to get known. Many people now in Britain, myself included,do not trust BBC reporting. The BBC is now so far from the trusted and honorable news service that it once was that it might as well be sold off to private agencies.Although this will not guarantee fairness it would at least take away their bottomless pit of tax payers, money which is being used to further the agenda of it's lefty hierarchy.

Israel should close it's borders to all reporters from agencies that continually act as mouth pieces for the Arabs. Why help the enemy!?

Reporters who KNOW that what they are being fed is full of lies, they will write what they were told to do because if they do not do what their Arab masters tell them to do, they will die. They know that Israel will not kill them when they forward Arab lies to the rest of the world. The worst thing is that they will be kicked out of the country, but they don't have to fear for their lies. When I am confronted with the lies that Israel is an apartheid state, I ask them what they think that word means. Most of the time, they do not have the foggiest idea, all they know is that it is something bad. I then tell them that the word was invented by South Africa for the way they treated non-whites. Then I ask them "if a woman is denied the right to drive, if her family can kill her because somehow they think she has besmirched the family's "honor," if people of different races are legally discriminated by the state, would THAT be apartheid? When they agree, I then let them know that EVERY ARAB STATE IS BOTH APARTHEID AND JUDENFREI. Jews are not permitted to live in those countries. People hear about the "Nakba," when 500,000 Arabs deserted their property because the grand mufti told them that all Jews would be dead in just a few days. True, some were forced out of their homes and that is regrettable, but are you aware at all of the 850,000 to one million Jews were thrown out of countries in which they had lived for millennia before Islam was invented? The State of Israel absorbed each and every Jew and non-Jew who wanted the freedoms that ONLY Israel can give them. How can a country that flew into Ethiopia to save our black brethren from being killed in a civil war and made them citizens be apartheid? Israel took in Vietnam boat people when no other country would Israel is taking in refugees from Sudan when not a single Islamic country will accept their own religionists. So, is Israel apartheid or is every Arab nation apartheid? Most get the point. Am Yisrael Chai!

Way to go, Beverly!

Beverly, Thanks for contributing such a well-constructed, heart-felt message that really says it all. Sadly, there are so many ignorant people out there who believe the lies; the others just don't want to be confused with the facts.
