Shimon Peres Launches Facebook Page

Israeli President Shimon Peres has launched a Facebook page - and got Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg to be his first "friend." Zuckerberg told Peres: "I would love to visit Israel and be your guest."
Peres also met with the COO of Facebook, Sheryl Sandberg, and for 40 minutes answered questions of surfers from around the world and also from Facebook employees. Watch here.
Peres' page features a video of Peres in mashup mode, dancing with robots and surfing an iPad, calling on citizens of the world to unite for world peace. Peres says he hopes the message will reach "citizens of Iran, Syria and the Arab world."
Shimon Peres may be 88 years old, but he continues to reinvent himself in the modern world. He is well-known to have encouraged Shai Agassi to start the Better Place electric car company.
