Hmm, maybe we should call the capital of England Belfast or Edinburgh.......and insist it's called that way!

The author's last comment is highly improper and could cause offense to people who hold the belief that London is the capitalif Britain.

Capital of Palestine

Are you serious??? London is no longer the capital of Britain or England ... it is clearly the capital of Palestine! Antisemites should never be heard from again!

UK's occupation of 6 counties in Ireland

I think we should make a point of referring to "Northern Ireland" as "the six Irish counties still occupied by Britain."

And the world stands by.... The outright disrespect. If the world does not recognize Jerusalem for what she is then what else can we expect????

Capital of Palestine?

I continues to confound me as to how palestine, which is NOT a legitimate country, could be listed as having "East Jerusalem" as its capital. And yet Israel IS a legitmate country but has no capital. Go figure.

the aleph BET

Bet is for house. Bet Israel, for House of Israel. We KNOW this. We also know that in English we often find ourselves the "bait", an aural cognate, for hatred, for denial of all kinds in the news of the kind you have reported in this article. There is a nail in denial and we've experienced a lot of this. But so have others, like the Armenians, as in, a massacre that never happened? We know it did and we know what Hitler said about this, with reference to what he did to us, the Jews. There is a lot of let's pretend in life. A kind of children's "fairy" tale that is Grim, as in, the name of The Brothers Grimm. I would say the ultimate "ferry tale" is going to take us all to a far far better place and that what is so obviously egregiously left out, will be filled in, as the pages of history and herstory move us forward. Jerusalem holds a very sacred place in the hearts of many, Jews and non Jews, and the endless wars that have been fought over this place that is known to be of God! Just maybe we can all convene together in spirit at The Wailing Wall and request a new chapter in a story that feels to me, like it's got to resolve in a Promise that was made, a Divine Promise, a long long time ago. And maybe for the Family of Man there will be a resolution, a sort of One Size Fits ALL coming together. We say mankind, so I think it's a very Jewish thing, a Jew Wish, for the KIND to be put back again, into mankind, around the world. So we can hold hands together and change the story. I "bet" it's going to happen.

Why is Israel honoring the Olympics with their presence? Boycott the Olympics, that refuse to acknowledge the barbarism committed against us 40 years ago. this would be a louder message than the one moment of silence.

Jerusalem is the capitolof Israel

I am not Jewish, I am just a Brit who loves, and stands firm for Israel. Jerusalem is the one and only Eternal capitol of Israel. I must apologise for our ignorant press who state that it is not the capitol of Israel. I pray nightly for the safety and security of all Israel and her citizens. My God always watch over you all and keep you safe from the enemies who surround you.

Sarah, July 27, 2012 1:55 PM

Thank you

... for your support and kind words. No one can control the media, but we can all control our own trusts and beliefs. If you really want to see the truth, you will find it even despite raging lies.

Surely not a new idea, but why not build a fabulous new temple to honor this most sacred site in Jerusalem? Use the old wall as the front interior wall of the Jewish peoples most holy of holies. Make the statement to the world...."We Will Endure"

Rachel, July 25, 2012 3:39 PM

Because we can't

Leaving aside the Jewish theological issue (that the Temple will be rebuilt only when Moshiach, the Messiah, comes) -- the entire Temple Mount is where the Temple is supposed to be, not just abutting the Kotel, or "old wall" as you call it. Furthermore, it would cause riots and terrorism (and possible military action by Arab and Muslim states) in Israel and against Jewish sites worldwide, as well as against Israel's allies, that would make the last 70 years (including the 3 "official" wars, numerous terror attacks in Israel, 9/11, etc) look like child's play.

It's amazing how helpless you feel when you see something like this. I just saw on Mapquest today that The map of Israel does not have Jerusalem on it by name! The brazeness is unreal...

Michael Fox, July 24, 2012 5:09 PM

When i did a Mapquest search for Israel, you are correct but as i scrolled around, Syria's capital is not identified and in Jordan, not a single location is identified. Seems a bit random. On their Israel homepage, you can click on JERUSALEM ISRAEL.
