Good Grief

This sounds like a feminist read Dr. Laura's book, "The Proper Care and Feeding of Husbands" and spun it to their ideology. Any woman that wants a husband that is her Prince and who is wrapped around her finger should read the above referenced book. I know from first hand experience that my wife got everything she wanted from me and more once she read and applied what she read there. Ironically, I didn't even know it was happening while it was happening. I didn't know she had read the book until months later. How can anyone who look at the Talmud and draw the conclusion that "everything that a wife does for her husband is above and beyond the call of duty"? Did he not say she is his helper? Should the husband not die for his wife? Should the wife not live for her husband?

It is two Sided!!!

Lori, I agree with you that a man has to do everything to make his wife happy but I believe it works both ways. A wife has a responsibility to make her husband happy too!! Otherwise, the husband will be depleted of his energy for her. He needs to see that his wife appreciated what he does for her. A wife needs to express her gratitude when he does the right thing. It's a two way street.

My husband didn't have to see this to do what you suggested.

My husband goes above and beyond for me. While I was recently ill, my husband didn't care if he had to rummage through the clean laundry to find a pair of socks or undershirt. He did not prepare gourmet meals, but what he managed to get onto the table was just satisfactory with me and our girls. The love and attention he shows me on a daily basis is exemplary. He's not always the romantic nature, but I do know he loves me dearly. I love him for his aidelkeit from the first time we had met. Just keep it up.

If you are appreciative it normally works..

Thanks for this timely reminder Lori! If you are appreciative it normally works. My wife would also say a bit of money spent on new clothes to show your appeciativeness also can't hurt!
