This was a great definition of what it means to be a leader. There is however, something I would add to it. Nobody can do everything but everybody can do something. Being a leader means doing what needs to be done, however YOU define what that something is.

I Have Done as You Say.
Hi Lori........ I've seen a need and done what was necessary to fill that need. I've raised a family, painted the house, run a business, been independent, I can find a way to get a job done and, certainly, here on Aish.com I have been outspoken in my opinions. ~~~~~~~~ However, I am not and doubt I ever could be a good leader. I'm a great helper, but the thought of ever working with a committee again gives me cold chills. COLD chills forever and ever Amen.

i don't agree
good morning, i just listened to your video, and i have to tell you that i love all your videos, and i think you are a smart, extremly likable and charismatic human being. but this is the first time i don't "see eye to eye" with you. my fiance passed away, at 38. we had (he had) many, many friends (every single shabbath we had at least 20 friends around our table, and when he was in the hospital he constantly had a line of friends waiting all the way in the hallway to see him, and pray for him), and everybody who needed help of any kind will come to lior. i have to tell you, that now, all his friends are still my friends. if i need anything they all jump to help me, and we are just that: friends. i am friends with them, i am friends with their wives and their little kids. and that is that. i guess it is the way you carry yourself that "invites" people to think of you in a certain way or another.

If only . . .
If only it were that easy. There are people (and I'm one of them) that no matter how clear their vision, no matter how responsible they are, and no matter how much they care. When they call people to action, the reaction is: "Hmm, well, I'd love to but . . ." There are others who are may or may not have the above traits who when they merely suggest something, people line up to do it. There is something to be said for charisma.

What are the things you want to see done? Maybe you can think of ideas and then someone else can get some other people on board. Don't give up.
