an important message that too many of us secular folks forget
Good marketing would suggest a stronger call to action at the end. What do we want people to do? If it's daven, then include information on davening or a link to a resource...BTW aish.com has been doing an amazing job. I loved loved loved the Exodus/social media video, and the Rosh Hashanah breakdancing one was pretty cute too. Keep it up!

Put is into perspective
I was just laid off from my job. A job I love. I have been upset and crying (yes crying). I don't have children to support. I don't have massive debt. I don't have house payments. Still, I felt like a failure. G-d words in mysterious ways. Yes, I have lost my job and I am grumbling but I never had to spend a day in a concentration camp. I have no disease such as cancer. I can see and I can hear. I may have problems and I may be out work and jobs are hard to come by but I have a roof over my head and I still have friends. Seeing this video today made me G-d is there and is telling me its ok to grumble but keep it in perspective. Life is not over. A new chapter is just beginning. If suvivors can be released from concentration camps and survive....then I can survive a job loss in the United States. It might not keep me from shedding a tear or two about my own plight but it will perhaps keep those tears at one or two and not a flood. The pity party I have been having for myself will probably not be a pity moment. Thank you Aish. Thank you G-d. I needed to see this today...right now and here it was. Ari

frustration does not equal lack of gratitude
Personally, I dislike messages like this. I hear the message as, don't complain, at least you have a house, job, kids, etc... Just because I grumble about my job, doesn't mean I don't appreciate the fact that I *have* one. I'm not allowed to have moments of frustration, because at least I have what someone else doesn't? The message should be to keep it in perspective. Just because my kids didn't listen to me for the 500th time today doesn't mean they'll NEVER listen to me.I don't love my kids because someone else doesn't have children or doesn't get to see their children. I'm not going to appreciate my job just because someone else doesn't have one. I'm going to appreciate my job because it fulfills me, or puts food on the table, pays for my kids' education. And if I'm frustrated and want to complain about something, I should make sure my complaint isn't empty, find a solution, ensure that my complaint doesn't turn into something bigger than it really is. I shouldn't have to worry about whether or not I can even be frustrated because someone else doesn't have a job to be frustrated about. I can feel for others, feel gratitude for the gifts that I have AND still have moments where I feel frustrated and want to gripe.

Don't get lost in the difficult moments
You're right, people do have the right to have moments when they feel overwhelmed and frustrated. The point is, unless there is something overwhelmingly wrong or difficult, they should just be moments, not the basis for your life. Moments of frustration or difficulty are often what make us stronger and more determined to go on. They build us into better human beings. It's when you let your difficulties define you or your life that you lose perspective, and the understanding of the value of life, and miss out on the truly beautiful moments that make life worthwhile.

Gratefulness

Thank you for this beautiful reminder...I truly needed to see these words and be reminded of all the blessings that we have recei ved of late. The love of my life, David, had a heart attack a few days ago, he is now fighting for his life. Last night I suppose the enormity of our situation and that of our families, hit me like a wall of darkness and I felt so very down and scared and...overwhelmed. All I did was wander about our home and cry. Feeling guilty for feeling that way and thinking the thoughts that were tumbling through my head, while he is lying there in his hospital bed. I have always been one to say "it could always be worse", when confronted with any situation...for a moment, it seems, I had forgotten my own words. Thank you for reminding me that G-d is with us in the darkness and in the light and that it could definitely always be worse!
