That video was so inspirational!!!It so clearly depicted all of Jewish history! It reminded me of the famous story (.. they even made a song out of it http://grooveshark.com/s/The Man From Vilna/4wllto?src=5) about how after the Holocaust a few Jews gathered to dance on Simchas torah in a destroyed synagogue hoping to find a Sefer Torah only to discover there where none...until someone picked up a Child and danced with the child - The Jewish Nation WILL live on ....Ah freilichen Chanukah,

What about the Macabees????
Yes, of course the miracle of the oil is significant, however, what about the Macabees? They did not want to assimilate like so many other Jews at that time. For so few, they took a stand, not to give up and not to assimilate. They fought and they won. They are the true miracle. We should hear more about them and not just about the oil in the Temple.. Just saying......

Yes, the Macabees victory is the true miracle, but because it is hard to see God's miracles in the actions of man, the miracle of the oil was sent to help people see both.

What a blessing to have this reminder brought back to the forefront...one of my favorite quotes is from Winston Churchill..the version I know is..."Never give up, never give up...never, ever give up!"....how very appropriate at this time in all our lives. Thank you for reminding me of this, Aish! Happy Hanukkah!

We were all truly blessed.
You are welcome! Of course, I should very much say thank you to you all...for blessing the world with such a man. His wisdom, along with so many others at that time in our world, got us through one of the darkest times in our history. Would that he were with us now...we could certainly use his wisdom and inspiration! G-d bless!

Brings the story of Chanuka alive!!!
Thank you for bringing me right to the doors of the Bais Hamikdash! I could almost feel the devastation as the Maccabim saw the destruction, and the hope when they discovered that tiny pach shemen. What a great reminder of HKBH's great love for His children!
