Feeling important vs. being important...
I am a scientist and have no comment on how 'good' or not that I am in my profession, however I have found in my many years working in labs and universities, that those who are truly great at their work are usually the most approachable and the most humble about 'tooting their horn'. It seems that who need to let people know how important they are, are usually not... The truly great don't feel the need to expose themselves. On Shabbos, I am much happier if I can fit in and just be a person instead of dwelling on what I do the rest of the week. After all, it is all a gift from Hashem, and for us to take credit, seems arrogant...

A great reminder
I think that sometimes Jews put more emphasis on their jobs than non-Jews do - "the doctor", "the lawyer", "the accountant". I absolutely love Shabbat as a guilt-free break from the rest of the week. I truly believes it keeps me alive.
