A good way to look at it.
I like the way the story about the American homes was used to start the conversation. So true. The bus story to helped me to think about my distractions and motivations. Why should I pay $100 for a steak dinner just because my friends do it? Can it be that good or do they feel good to brag about it?

something to envy
Clever and illuminating. Never realized that about American homes. Here in Israel, few have a spare room not in use. I've always thought a home shouldn't look too good from the outside because you don't want the burglars to be too impressed. What was really impressive about this family was the honesty and communication level between son and parents. They may suffer from envy but look how well they communicate! Now that's really enviable.

I didn't watch this but I was caught by the title, because I just wrote ENVY on line, on FaceBook and that this kind of green seems to cover the world. I will watch this. I will come back when I have time. The synchronicity that dominates every move I make, is so powerful, it brings me, to my knees.

The comment the father made about the couple walking off into the sunset reminded me of something a good friend of mine once mentioned. She said she could never understand why love stories end right before they get married. What a shame, because after marriage is when all of the really interesting stuff happens!

Wonderul, Humorous, Highly Instructive
I learn so much from Hanan's videos - Repair, Landlord, Fear and Ilusion, Gratitude...I return to them for the wonderful wisdom they contain. Now, Envy - caused me to reflect honestly.- and I loved the message to look inside for what is unresolved rather than looking into other peoples windows. One could make so many comments on the wonderful and deep insights contained in this video. The humor, animation, voices, all so enjoyable.. Thank you so much Hanan. I look forward to the next one.

I Know the Feeling.
I had a girl who I liked a lot (we did not date). In the end, she married my ex-best friend, who knew well that I liked her.C'est la vie.

I was a bit surprised that the mother spoke of her envy of her friend's son in such a manner in front of her son. Envy to improve oneself is a good envy. Envy of what another person has and making then comparisons is, in my mind, lashon hara.
