An inspiring video of one girl defying all odds, and the 450 Chai Lifeline runners who cheered her on.

Peri Finkelstein is a 16-year-old girl from West Hempstead, NY who was born with a rare form of Muscular Dystrophy. At 6 months old, her parents were told that any form of therapy would be useless and that she would never walk. She is trached and on a ventilator 24/7. Chai Lifeline has always been a huge part of her life and has given both her and her family hope, support, love and courage. Team Peri was formed 7 years ago as a way to give back to Chai Lifeline, the organization that has always stood by Peri. On January 24, 2016, Peri defied all odds and walked over ONE THOUSAND STEPS to cross the finish line along with over 450 Team Lifeline runners at the Miami Marathon.

Peri has committed to walk the last mile in honor of all of friends of Chai Lifeline’s Camp Simcha. Her dream is to top last year’s fundraising goal of $62,000. Watch her amazing feat below.
