Dear Lori,

My husband and I download your stream every week. We find you videos to be inspirational and therapeutic.

Having both been raised in secular families, we find so much truth in what you say. Now that we are becoming more observant, we only wish our families would start asking more questions and stop making us feel like there is something wrong with being more observant. I guess, with patience and time, they will come to understand.

Anyway, I hope this email finds you and your family in good health and we look forward to many more "Lori Almost Live".

Believing & Knowing
It is one thing to believe, but that isn't always a substitute for knowing how the world works. One either perceives that the world either makes sense or is in hopeless chaos. However, Judaism can understandably bridge the gap between belief and knowledge in G-d and how the world works. Given that we as the Jewish people are still around today is a fine example of a bridged gap, because as we define ourselves as Jews, we are just about the same as we were as our ancestors entering the land of Israel and receiving the 10 Commandments directly from G-d witnessed by up to 2 million Jews. It gives hope and reason to believe and know that G-d exists. For the rest, the Torah considers commentary - go and learn.
