Isn't the "Mixes Multitude" an excuse?

When I look at myself, I would be able to do anything wrong, depending on the circumstances I was put in. And those people, who had been slaves all their life, then felt lost and unsecure - and 40 days is a long time... a whole month and a whole week and three other days, while they made a mistake in counting too, and being familiar with handmade gods, I cant not be sure of myself, if I perhaps would forget freedom and a dry sea and God speaking to me, and say to myself *A sparrow in my hand is better than a dove on the roof* and I would be glad to have at least a golden calf. I mean I hope I would not do such a thing, but sure I am not.

Reminds me of your brief talks between the aliyot back at the old Aish Center. Classic Shraga.

You brought down half of the commentaries I learned in Chumash this semester and put them all together. Beautiful Job!
