Thank you!

Amazing insight! It makes you wonder about what things we still try to do to get closer to HaShem, things which we are not commanded to do...All the while missing out on the intimacy achieved by simply obeying Him!

Thank you!

Dear Rabbi Fohrman, My chevrusa here in Portland, OR sent me a link to your insightful video. We can't thank you enough for shedding light on this eternally puzzling portion. I loved the animation, too.

Also, what do we gain?

In the story of the forbidden fruit, we got something; we know good and evil. True it doesn't make us godlike, but it left us with something. What did we gain, if this is a parallel?

Perhaps the story details a further distancing of Creator from creation, rather than being merely parallels. The story is told in the same order, not in reverse order as in the case of the atbash discussed earlier. I am curious to discover whether there is a further atbash connecting these two passages.

TRY WAIT- Lesson for True Holiness and Long Life

I saw a car license plate: TRY WAIT, near my house and near our Yeshiva, in Rochester NY. It is a saying used in Hawaii, to suggest that people slow down, and be patient. Shemini suggests an impatience to reach holiness. But life is spread out in time. Perhaps it is not meant for us to CRAM things in, but to spread them out......By spreading out we may hopefully increase our joy, or SIMCHA and add meaning over the span of our lives... THANKS
