A Letter to the World from Jerusalem, 1969

The sentiments expressed here are utterly moving ; the stress of this being the focal point of our prayers is the key; We have been removed from this place before; but the only force that can cause our removal is the will of Hashem; while all our efforts must be put forth, If we ever think that our remaining there is based on our own strength, w/o will of Heaven, we're lost.

I've seen this letter before and it is an excellent expression of one who lives in Jerusalem. The problem was that he spoke too fast and thus there wasn't enough time to allow the listener to absorb so many of the important points to be told. Suggestion: Do this again with an eloquent speaker who will slower thus more effective. Also, have it published so people can read and reread it at their own pace. I love the letter but not the presentation. It's such a great letter that it bears being redone.

I understand that it seems fast. The older we get the faster youth seems to go. I can hardly understand peiople sometimes and have to ask them to slow down, on the phone in particular.

This is tottaly true-we wont give any more "pieces of land" to them again, Israel belongs to the jews, and we will keep it that way!Surprisingly, i wonder why people actualy bother these days, or therse generations to fight with jews because no matter what will happen, we will always still exsist-and that is even a promise from G-d...

Please whatever you do, keep your Holy City. It was the highlight of my visit to your country in October 2009.

I sent this to my mixed - E-Mail list of Jewish and for the benefit - of my NON-Jewish friends. I was sent this letter below - which I got - from a Sephardic Jewry site. I thought I'd share it. As it is poignant - for the Israeli 62nd Anniversary. It is taught that - G-D's word - NEVER - goes - unfulfilled. As we celebrate - Israeli Independence Day - next week. We are reminded - by this letter - written a few years ago. That - What the Nation of Israel has known - for centuries. That G-D's Word - does not go - unfulfilled. For - once again - the whole of the Land of Israel - is being reclaimed - for the Jewish Nation/People - as G-D promised - in His Torah. ** BTW -This would/could include - those non-Jews - who choose - to accept/follow - G-D's Torah Covenant and Laws. He promised - that though we would be exiled - to the other nations of the world - because of our sins. HE - G-D - would NOT - abandon - nor forsake us. HE - would bring us back - from those nations - even from the ends of the heavens - to the Land - HE - gave to Avraham - Yitzchaq - and Israel - FOREVER. So - WE can inherit it, and HE - will increase our numbers - even more than - our forefathers. A promise - HE - made - forever.

And all i can say is WOW! Beautiful!!

Enjoyed this passionate clip. Of course we will never leave, with G-d's help. But when we say "next year in Jerusalem", when we currently are in Jerusalem, we are really referring to the REBUILT Jerusalem in all its glory when Moshiach /the Messiah comes, with the Holy Temple restored for eternity. Only then will it be completely in our hands forever with no one trying to fight us. We can bring this time closer by working on improving our love for fellow Jews and commitment to G-d and performing His mitzvot.

I have a copy of this on my Zune along with other pro-Israel films that show the hypocrisy that the world has shown us for thousands of years. I am adding that collection to the "Over the Line" by the University of Jerusalem. I love the looks of the British and French when they realize that there was a time when their precious cities were NOTHING while we based in intelligence and the progression of civilization. I live in Texas in which the Super Right Wing Christians are waving their ignorance with pride. To them, the experts know nothing and the separation of church and state have led them to ignore Thomas Jefferson. They are ignoring the Constitution of the United States, they are trying to convert all to their filthy brand of religion...just close your eyes, cover your ears and keep your mouth shut. Sounds like Nazi Germany all over again, but this time it is coming from the Lone Star State. Know where your enemies stand and you will know what to do.

My heart swells as the tears well in my eyes. Maybe, next year in Jerusalem is always said and sometimes cried. I also felt a sense of pride at survival against all odds and pride in knowing all the studying and living the life and loving all the Holy Days perhaps at some time... in Jerusalem... in Jerusalem. Its soo strange how the nations of this world make silly choices, especially the soo called civilised, when they keep silent, or indifferent about the troubles of israel-jerusalem. Its easier for them to take a stand for terrorists, injustice and uncivilisation... and make unfair demands on israel- the worlds one hope for justice, freedom and righteousness. May all africa stand by israel. May Israel not give up its right to rebuild and reposses Jerusalem and the temple completely. JUST IGNORE THE WORLD, they will soon get over it! Hashem can not be killed or his covenant changed. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Just because some religious org. moves into Israel, doesn't make them a part of the covenant. If you want what us Jews have had to go through, we'll pass the buck, however, we still have the covenant and always will, that's why others hate us. Is that being prideful? No! We just know our G-d is faithful and he can not be moved by threats from the enemy, his enemies!
