Amazing story!
Wow! What an amazing story. I myself is a Russian Jew who immigrated to US back in the early 90s. We went through our share of hardship and like you said cultural shock was almost overwhelming. But I don't thing we went through nearly as much danger and hardship as you did. I don't say this often but God bless you! And God Bless Israel!
These videos are absolutly wonderful this is what we are missing in the western world, honour, love, respect, courage Bless you for showing the world
amaizing story!
I also immigrated from Tigray region, in the early 1980 Although we faced death and many other freighting situations, we didn't face with such things: lions, snakes and tigers. Wow! what an amaizing story. I didn’t know as well that Africa has tigers at all; accept the tigrayan people in northern Ethiopia! Wow! he has such a nice his-story!
So amazed at your courage and your faith!
As an American Jew and an immigrant and survivor from Nazi Germany, I am so proud of your faith and courage! For sure what binds all of us proud Jews and Zionists, is our inner belief that cannot Israel is here to stay forever and ever! May the Jews of the diasporah not forget their origins! May the leaders of the world not abandon us with their lofty, naive concepts that endangers our very existance as well as the future of our world! God bless you! Sincerely, Rita Grunberg
Very Inspiring Story !
Since the time of Solomon

This is a very touching story.
Todah!
Amazing story! Thanks so much for sharing it!
From Ethiopia to Israel's Knesset
Inspiring
When I look around me in the Jewish communities in the USA and find so little love and concern left for Israel, for our future as a people. It is heart wrenching and scary. This man epitomizes the love for the meaning of Eretz Israel, remaining loyal Jews to our heritage. Israel is our most sacred and cherished gift. Worth protecting with our lives every minute of everyday till eternity. This incredible man walked to the ends of the earth and thru hell to reach Israel. What more can anyone say or do, to match his loyalty, his total commitment.
You bring joy to Israel!
We were part of this!
My mother and I worked for HIAS at that time. I was in medical school! HIAS helped in theproject of migrationand settlement. It was a miracle and still is! People who in the lapse of 4 hours were brought through millenniaa of historical changes and are wonderfully contributing to Jewsih contiuned surivival!
Yetzias Mitzrayim!
Definately a unique human being. Thanks for sharing your God given gifts May the Almighty continue to strenghen you elbows as you endevour to assist others. As an Afro-Isreali orignally from Ghana I can relate to what you are talking about. It is my prayer that we all find semblance not alowing xenophobia to cause mankind to back slide but rather promote more educational awareness and encouragement for the for those in our generation as well as the next struggling fiscally and unable to find a balance due to thier crid. For the embetterment of our National and societies which we live in. Shlomo God bless Your Faithfully, Kenneth Mercer-Wood

Shalom!! Very inspirational and beautiful story. LOVE your site!!
Dear Friends at AISH, Shalom from NYC! I am an unashamed Zionist, and so is my wife of 22 years. Our children are grown, and out of three, one lives in the Promised Land. Health circumstances prevent me from joining him there, but I've spent many years in Israel. You folks have a wonderful, inspirational web-site, and believe me, I'm gong to do everything I can to make sure my friends see it, G-d willing. I wish everyone reading this to have a wonderful day, and pray for Israel's security. She needs it. REJOICE in G-d's promise to gather us from Diaspora is fulfilled! LONG LIVE ISRAEL, BEAUTIFUL JEWEL IN A DESERT. I REJOICE when and grandchildren rejoice at good news from Israel, and equally weeps with the people of Israel in solidarity during times of tragedy.
A beautiful story

There is still inspiration in the world today.
very inspirational story. I got chills. People don't realize what kind of honor it is to live in Israel and how special it is. People dream of being in this land and people walked by foot from their original countries because they feel in their hearts that it is their place to be, it is home. Kol a kaod laem!!! am yisrael hai, medinat yisrael hai!
I was born in Washington, D.C. and am happy to see other Jews coming here.
Only took....

Journey from Ethiopia
Shlomo, thank you for sharing your story, everyone possible should see it. I cried and then laughed when you talked about the elevator. I was reminded when we emigrated from Europe, arrived in Quebec and could not get my mother on the escalator to disembark. We never saw one before. I am a holocaust survivor and in my testimony to students I always talk about Israel including the Ethiopians there. G-d bless you and your family.

For us American Jews, who only know the trials the survivors of the Holocaust, Arab persecution and the thousands who risk their lives to resurrect Yisrael,by second or third person, or read about their courage, we would be greatful to HaShem and to them and complain less and help more. I can only hope I can one day thank some of them, in Yisrael.

Live and Become
Mazal tov to this great man of a great people! I recently saw the moving film "Live and Become" about the Falashas making aliyah to Israel. I can highly recommend this film to everybody, as it gives a wonderful insight on their emotional but very difficult and suffered story. May God bless Israel and it's people always. You all are in my heart and prayers forever.

Jerusalem is our eternal source of energy
A wonderful story
Inspiring
His faith humbles me.
A True Achiever
We need to show to the world this and other great deeds in Israel.
We must bring the inspiring humanistic message of Israel and how no one remains, unlike our neighbors, a refugee in Israel desapite having left all their earthly belongings in the countries most had to leave. Put it all on Utube. We need to reach the world's youth who are being misinformed by their local media.
We all , survivers of the families face holocausts came from jewish heros
I have to congratulate another jewish hero! he is hero because other unknown heros lost their lie for jewish cause. let to bring our estim and remember love to them. We have not to forget other category of jewish heros, The Heros came from mixt families , also unknown heros, who bring a serious cotribution to the jewish existential life. let them to be our heros too.
inspiring
proof of what people have done to be Jewish.
Wish he would communicate his success to Muslims.
Ilove Israel
we need more jews!
This underscores that we need more Jews from whatever background they come. When someone wants to become Jewish we must work hard to welcome him or her into our family. Their degree of observance can be enhanced as they progress through their Jewish life. We must not keep people out because their level of observance at the entrance point is not that of a haredi. We must welcome them if we believe they are sincere in being Jewish. Orthodox observant Jews can then help them increase their observancy with honey not threats, but with loving guidance to whatever level the new Jew can achieve.
a refreshing breeze in this time of world turmoil

What happened to the rest of the story
I hung on every word and felt this person is out of the ordinary. We heard and observed on the video about a rmarkable event that took place in the past. It shows strength and perseverance even far back as a youth. But what was missing, it seems to me, was knowing about his life today, his work at the Knesset...no doubt he must be prowd to be serving as a member. Is it still possible to get this into the video? I hope so. .
HESED

What a awesome story.
I can't belive Shlomo made it to the knesset, kol hakavod!. We where studing together in Haifa. He was a good student and a sympatic person.I am not living in Israel now, but I am seeing this clip in Norway thru aish.com. webside. If you see this message Shlomo, take care and good luck from Norway! Warm greetings from Renée
What an inspiring story
This is an amazing and inspiring story. What a gift to the Jews of the world to have Israel, where we can be free to achieve all that we are able. I am especially touched that Jews from Ethopia and elsewhere give Jews and the Jewish message, Judiasm, a multi-ethnic and therefore universal aspect. I believe that Jews should welcome everyone who wishes to live, learn and teach the Torah. Shalom
Its inspiratioal
More and more so I realize, real life dramas are so far astonishing than any fiction. Even more so when someone overcomes impossible odds but only through the grace of the Eternal One. Even then, it is He who exceeds above and beyond any expectation, the Only One who can take perhaps one the most primitive uneducated people on earth and transform them to the level of one of the mosy advanced and unique nations on the planet. Moving, riveting and almost unbelievable.
Very impressive
tigers and leopards
Welcoming Cousins
Kol hakavod
A story of courage, hope, faith, tenacity
Clearly, from this we see that we can achieve so much... it does take hard work, but in america we have so much, so many resources, we only lack courage and faith. With courage and faith we can achieve so much for our fellow Jews, for ourselves, for Am Yisroel. Keep G-d at the center of all we do and we will succeed! May we all merit to come home to Israel soon. May we have shalom amongst all Jews, where ever we are in the World, may we always be unified as one People, under G-d!
There are tigers in Africa
Kol hakavod to Shlomo Mula
Important Lesson
Great story, but since when are tigers in Africa?
How the Soul Yearning to return home inspires.

the amazing journey!
What an incredible story of a journey, through hardship, through the desert, to a new land. I found this very inspiring. Sadly some did not make it. I saw a movie recently about Operation Solomon. We are all of us deeply connected to each other and here in this video that is so much a soul adventure is something of great wonder.
Fit for a great film

Hard start- beautiful ending!
This story is so very inspirational-Show,s you that this man,s will, was so very strong, and determined, that no matter, how tough his trials and tribulations,he made it to "the promised land!" He followed GOD,S map,and his heart,an amazingly courageos man. Would like to read more of a follow up,as to whether,he married, has children, and what his life is like presently... beautiful story!
Operation Solomon 1984
I was in Tzfat when Operation Solomon happened. People moved in right across the street from me. At the time Tzfat happened to have a lot of empty apartments. When the Russians came, they were sent to the South as appartments were available there at the time. It didn't take long for The Ethiopian Jews to acclimate and learn to maneuver in supermarkets, etc. They put on a lovely art show of things they had crafted. This is wonderful that progress continues and they are doing so well in Israel.
