Pure Gratitude

I cannot express my graitude towards the young men and women known who have, are, or will be a member of the IDF. Here in America, aside from the south, it's not very well respect to be a part of the US Army--it's more known as you have failed out of school and have nowhere else to go. I came to Israel in 2007 for the first time, to a place that I was not expecting. Soldiers lined across street corners to protect the civilans, and soldiers off to protect Hashem's land. So much bravery and heart is needed to be part of the IDF, and I give all of my heart, respect, and soul towards the brothers and sisters.

I recently re-found my love of Judaism after too many years of 'just being American'. I did this through learning Torah, The same Torah my grandfather taught me while in Cheder. I am blessed to have even an iota of understanding of the laws. But, I practice it in the sense that the Great Rev Hillel quoted to a non-believer..."To do to others as you would like them to do unto you." I say this in the sense that Israel MUST continue to not only exist, but prosper amidst the horrors undeservingly cast upon us by the enemy. As an American Jewish woman, almost old (59) my heart goes out to all the Israeli soldiers for their unwavering bravery. It cannot be easy to live under constant attack and at times, have to hold back. May you all eventually achieve all your goals in life and live happily and healthy with your families. My husband is in the Israely army, I dont want to take credit away from the care packages- it is very special- but the soldiars are very far from getting real thanks and are risiking their lives for nothing. Its the Israeli government that needs to show more thanks. Day in and day out they send soldiars risking their lives to capture murderers ,who are to be let out the next day in the name of peace.

What would happen in my country if there was a terrorist group just across the border in PNG backed by PNG firing rockets on a daily basis into the towns on Saibai as well as Thursday Island ? No doubt the Australians would respond ..even if it meant invading southern PNG to do it . Israel has major cities as close to enemy territory as Australias Torres strait . Israel made one huge mistake ... Allowing the PLO into Gaza to start with .

I recently heard a detailed teaching on the meaning of justice. It is not vengence, however, it is to appeal to Hashem to restore to His children what has been taken away. Restoration comes after a repentent heart full of mercy and forgiveness toward the perpetrator. Then Hashem will move in our behalf and restore in ways we cannot imagine. So may Hashem serve justice to your families, communities, schools, government and yes, your beliefs all that has caused doubts, fears, and even giving up. The battle is Hashem's. I am Australian and not Jewish but I fully support Israel and admire the quality of the Israeli soldier. I know that everywhere in the world that abuts Islam, in all Muslim countries and everywhere with a growing Muslim population, there is blood. As Huntington (Clash of Civilisations) said -all Islam's borders and innards are bloody and that Islam gets along with no-one. Israel is right at the worst spot for this struggle against this vicious totaliatarian ideology. Your struggle has nothing to do with a land dispute. The people of Gaza have had the chance to govern themselves and use the endless donations to build a decent society--they don't, they want to kill Jews instead and happily train their children as martyrs! You cannot deal rationally with such people or make any truce (truces in Islam are just for the Muslims to rearm until they can kill again and eventually win). Israel must do all it needs to to protect its people and not care about warped public opinion--particularly in Europe which will soon and in places already has similar battles on its streets! Israel needs to be as self-sufficient as possible, particularly in food and weapons. Do what is best for Israel. Don't give up anything more--it has never helped Israel and is seen as weakness. Please make more effort to inform the world of the suffering of Israelis and the great contribution to the civilised modern world made by Jews. Please expose the staged nature of 'Palestinian reports/film.' Don't let Obama push you around--who can know what his real beliefs and aganda are. There are many who support you and who know that this is a war with an insane death loving enemy and that being nice is a recipe for your own destruction. Well done.

For what it''s worth, I would like Israel and the Israeli army to know that the whole world is not against you. When the Gaza conflict was constantly in the news, I found myself strongly stirred in favour of the Israeli assault - I believe it was a good cause. Not only do you have a right to defend yourself against terrorism, but you have an obligation to your people to do so. I cannot understand the mentality of so-called world leaders. Israel has shown the world what to do, and put many nations to shame, as far as I''m concerned. To Israel's soldiers, sailors and airmen: When you went into Gaza, you witnessed with your own eyes the harshness of life under Hamas, the Gazans held hostage by terrorists who have absolutely no concern for their well-being. You found places of learning and medical care callously turned into ammo dumps and rocket launching pads. You saw people being told to stand on the roofs of their buildings to act as human shields for the cowards who lurked below, hiding among the women and children while telling them that what they are doing is honorable. You were provoked and shot at by Hamas fighters masquerading as civilians. You entered buildings wired to blow sky-high at your approach. You saw Hamas gloat at the terrible human suffering they caused among their own people and the innocent citizens of Southern Israel through their intractable hatred of Jews. Their hypocrisy is on view for all the world to see – even for those who would prefer to turn a blind eye to the truth of what monsters Hamas are. From all this, you came back in honor and with your humanity intact. Even as you fought the terrorists, you showed your legendary tzedakah by sending in tons of humanitarian aid to those in Gaza wounded by this war. Would any other army do this in the midst of battle? Would any Arab army show such mercy its enemies? From years of deadly erratic rocket fire from Gaza that had no purpose other than to kill innocent people, you exacted justice. The arm of Israel is slow to rise in anger, but its sword unsheathed shall never be vanquished by those who value death over life. The campaign in Gaza was necessary and just. No, Hamas is not yet completely gone, but the Israeli Defense Forces pulled out a lot of its teeth. Well done, defenders of Israel.

Hello defenders of freedom. I am an American who supports Israel and deeply appreciates Israel as a partner in the love of life and the principle of just and actionable retaliation when one is attacked. A great vision for SUPPORTING Israeli Soldiers

This is a wonderful idea, BRAVO. This must be a prolific movement. I just saw the movie "Beaufort" on my computer through Netflix. I so much want to put my arms around each and every soldier, men and women alike. They have had to give up so much, just to be citizens, while being soldiers, the sacrifices increase 100 fold. I love you all, and know how intrinsically valued you are to the life, and existence, of the state of ISRAEL. The entire world looks up to the Israeli soldier, whether it is respect, admiration, or fear, YOU RULE! I look forward to a time when each soldier can see their children playing, without worrying about their going to war. I went to Israel as a volunteer in Sherut La'Am in the first group of Americans to go right after the 1967 war. A year and a half after my one year service I made Aliyah. I lived in Israel for 8 more years but had to leave to get a divorce. My son was born in Tel-Ha Shomer right after the Yom Kippur War. My heart remains in Israel, with our land, and our people. The forefront of defending the Western civilization

Dear Israeli soldiers For me your battle against Hamas, Hizbollah, and other fundamentalist Islamic organizations, beyond constituting a straightforward struggle for your own existence as an independent country, it also represents part of the bigger war of tomorrow waged by the Western world against the dark forces of evil that stem from radical Islam. The problem is that the better part of the people who live in Western societies are too blind and naive to understand it. Therefore, sometimes when I get into a library or a theater here in Paris, or ride the metro, or go to a restaurant with my girlfriend, or listen to my favorite jazz tunes on the radio, I keep thinking that all of these values of freedom and culture we're accustomed to in the West are becoming seriously threatened by Iran, Hezbollah, Hamas, the Talliban, Londonistan, and their brethren, and as I live my free life here, there are soldiers out there in Afganistan and Irak upholding these values in attempt to keep in check the looming danger of backwradness and totalitarianism. I don't like wars and blood (especially not that of children), but in this dawning villainy of radical Islam, ISRAEL is the embodiment of the struggle for independence and freedom. Maybe my people will understand it in a generation or two, and I hope for the sake of my children that they be not too late in getting it. In conclusion, a big THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart to the IDF! I hail you and may Providence or God keep you all safe and sound! Christian Teszler Paris, France

Sh'lom Thank you, the heats of us all are with you.

Sh'lom Thank you, I believe that the hearts of us all are beating in unison, with yours, our brave boys and girls. Especialy when we actually understand the actions undertaken and why. The relevance to the lives of us around the world and actions of our Israeli soldiers impact more than just Israel, this battle is just as important to those in Europe and USA when we want peace and unity. Thankyou for fighting to end us of this terror, because it is all terroism and connected eventualy.

Israeli soldiers are my Heroes too!

As an American and mother of an American soldier, thank you for serving your country and thank you for defending freedom. You risk your life daily to keep terrorists away from your people. My son served in Iraq for 15 months, but your Army faces those threats every single day. For that, you should be thanked every day of the week.
