USA under God, not Hammas
I apologize to the Israel people/nation for the unprofessional coverage of what took place on the Flatilla.
As "journalist" from the USA they are properly paid, but I believe not proper trained to report accurate events. Either lack of resources and/or support, they still have to report something, not taking in consideration the destruction that can cause us or anyone else. I pray for forgiveness of our country and false reports our media has portrayed on this tragic day.

Preaching to the choir
I am quite disturbed by this video, as I am by all information that shows the warped view of the Israeli-Arab conflict that the media reports around the world. In addition to sharing this type of reporting with people like me who follow Aish and are likely to have a pro Israel opinion already, it needs to be broadcast to the people who are being bombarded with mis-information and drawing the wrong conclusions from it.

Traditionally Turkey is strongly tied with Israel. We have in common so many things. The current government of Turkey is deliberately pro-Hamas. However I have been happily surprised to see that there are many, not most but many, people in Turkey who are aware of the true point behind the flotilla action. Many educated people know what drove the flotilla action , who were behind it, and what purpose it served. That was a relief when all , really all, media was united in an anti-Israeli discourse. All media, TV, newspapers from left and right, from extreme islamists to so-called "moderns" where ,for once, united. This was alarming.... I want all readers of this page know that, although Turkey is pushed towards Islamist life-style and Iran there are many people like me, who still believe, and want to believe that this otherwise beautiful country, with naive, influenced but not utterly violent people is not deeply anti-semitic as many Europeans. The bottom line is that this government in Turkey is a strong and deep threat for peace in middle-East. We hope that it will be wiped soon. Shalom!

The Western media isn't "fooled"
Overall, a good analysis of the immediate agenda of the Bloatilla activists.
However, the Western media didn't *fall for* their antics, it deliberately promoted them and gave them cover. I've noticed that many people who can see through "Pallywood" often go on to say that Pallywood fools the Western media.
This is an absurd notion! The Western media is a sophisticated propaganda machine. It is utterly foolish to think that it is repeatedly tricked by the frankly crude antics of Pallywood producers or that a few internet bloggers have some great insight which it lacks.
When Jewish patriots and those who stand with them realise that the Western media is deliberately promoting antisemitism *and confront it with that in mind, and put it on the defensive*, then Pallywood and similar phenomena such as this bloatilla spectacle will disappear into the dustbin of history where they belong.

PEACE MUST REIGN
Why are those accusing Israel not using the united Nations?
We want peace between palestians and Israel but to say israel is attacking from Internation water they too are forgetting that they are using international water to provoke Isarel.
Two wrongs do not make a right.
We are praying that peace reigns between the two brothers.
Jewish nation is big spiritual sign from God for all nations.
Abraham is the father of all nations therefore let us use peace without provocation.

Israel has a right and an obligation to do all it can to protect its citizens. When you are in effect, at war, with another power you cut off their ability to acquire weapons that they will use against you. Israel very comendably did not resort to force until it was used against them and then they inspected the cargo, removed the weaons they found and forwarded the cargo on to Gaza. You can't get any better than that. And for those reading this who think I am just another Israeli following the party line, wrong, I am not Israeli and I am not Jewish. I just know that if I was in their shoes I would be doing the same thing. I admire them for their restaint.

some good refutations of my comments as well as a couple blind faith ones that use the same language the jihadists use i.e. the "we are God's chosen ones". My response to that would just make you all angry as I am a devout atheist. Be that as it may, I was unaware of the intricacies of international water designations. Very informative. As to the other more substantive responses, I'm still not swayed. Israel is as Hell-bent on the destruction of the Palestinian state as those who are hell-bent on the destruction of Israel. Both sides are WRONG. Were the activists trying to make an international incident? Of course! That's why they were "armed" though not with guns and materiele. If they were armed with real weapons that could supply Hamas, then the actions of the Israeli gov't would have been more justified. Why is Israel allowed to provoke Palestine by continuing to build settlements in disputed territory but the supporters of the plight of the Palestinians are totally wrong when they act similarly? The fact is BOTH sides are wrong. A few stories about how fabulous the Israelis are to save dying Palestinians is anecdotal and more a testament to how good the people of Israel are not their gov't. My concerns are with how war-mongering the governments of both sides are. ALL of the material on the ships turned out to be humanitarian and was delivered. If it was turned away, perhaps it was so the Israeli gov't couldn't say "see how nice we are? We gave you the materials."

National Palestinian Radio (NPRP
KERA-FM in Dallas, TX broadcasts the BBC all night long, they spend a part of each night's broadcast damning Israel. I REFUSE to give one penny to any "public radio" or TV that lies about our homeland.
The British lost their empire during WWII because they broke their word to Israel. I've had rabbis who have scoffed at that statement, but the went from an empire where the sun never set to a relatively small island off the coast of France.
Helen Thomas shot off her mouth this week telling us to get "the hell out of Palestine and go home" to Poland and Germany. That's odd, my Torah says that Hashem gave us the land that the Romans renamed Palestine after the Philistines.
I urge all readers to go to www.wiesenthal.com/tenbiglies and download a wonderful brochure that tells the truth.
Can you imagine Isiah preaching in the streets of Warsaw? How about Jeremiah speaking in Berlin?
Torah says that Abraham was promised the land of Israel to us. He repeated the offer to Isaac and at last Judah renamed Israel. We were never told we'd be fishing on the Rhine.

The Media needs to start telling the Truth in their Reporting, or be Fired!!!
I who know better; believed from the Media Reporting, that Israel was pulling some bully tactics on an innocent humanitarian ship..
Quite the opposite, I now see... Lying Media Reporters need to be standing in the unemployment line. No other workers in any other job can keep their employ, without doing their job honorably!!! Why should the media be able to get away with continually lying on their jobs, and still keep their employ? The More Honest a Report, the More Favorable should be their Employers!!! Media Owners and Bosses who are found out to allow lying in their reports, are going to be dismissed by the Public, of those who read the news for the truth!!! That is Waaay more people than they think; and they therefore will loose their Media Fortunes, and Businesses, if they don't turn their tactics around!!! Be Careful Media, Your sin is finding you out!!!

June 8, 2010 9:38 PM
answer to Anonymous (182)
As they were knowingly trying to break a blockade, they knew they would be stopped and their aim was to provoke Israel. Israel publicized before the flotilla set sail, that under international law, they were allowed to stop it in international waters to prevent it from breaking the blockade. They were within legal limits. They tried to take it peacefully to steer the boat toIsrael to unload civilian aid to Gaza which would then be sent over land to Gaza as it does every day! The prupose of the blockade is to prevent weapons going through the port to Hamas which has declared its intention to destroy Israel and continues to fire upon it daily. This is war, whether you like it or not. Hamas has declared it is opposed to peace and will not recognize Israel's right to exist. Hamas took over when Israel pulled out of Gaza and gave it away! The organizers of the flotilla are known to have terrorist ties and were not out for peace, but war. In fact, Hamas has refused the aid that was on the boats! This is trying to tell the side of the story that the biased mainstream media won't report!
The terrorists on the boats were beating, slashing and attempting to kill the soldiers. They only acted in self defense. The other boats in the flotilla went peacefully to Israel and had their shipments unloaded to send to Gaza. Trying to break a lawful blockade is an act of war!

Israel transfers thousands of tons of humanitarian aid to Gaza each week
When reading comment #182, I realized that this is the perfect example of the result of a biased media. "Anonymous" wrote, "I can't help but think that if Israel would allow humanitarian materials into Gaza, I wouldn't be writing this right now. Lets try to remain objective." It is clear from the comment that the writer read a good deal of biased information. What the writer DID NOT read was the weekly summary of the humanitarian aid that Israel sends to Gaza EACH WEEK (this can be seen on the following website: http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/news.aspx/137502. See bottom of article for links to previous weeks' summaries). It is all too sad that the international media picks up on everything that Israel seemingly does "wrong" (in this case, preventing militants enter Gaza with warfare to be used against Israelis), whereas the unbelievable "chessed" that Israel does with the Palestinians and Arabs goes unreported. Did the writer of the comment read about the fact that Hamas rejected the humanitarian supplies when the boat finally arrived in Gaza? Just today I read an article in Hebrew on Yediot Achronot's website (a major Israeli newspaper) about how an Arab woman and her baby were saved at an Israeli hospital after life threatening labor complications that usually result in the mother's death. Why doesn't the international media pick up a nice story like this? Does anyone think that an Israeli in the same situation in Gaza would be provided with the same services?

Israel has a right to defend
The Turks are no better than their Islamic Jihadists all over the world... look what they did to the Armenians and to 1000's of Christians all over the world. The flotilla carried hundreds of boxes of weapons, most likely from the US (based on the writing on the crates)... this was a deliberate and calculated act of terrorism, drawing out the Israeli forces - forcing their hand in order to then cry out to the world how rotten the Turks are being treated while trying to Air Gaza - the people would kill their mothers if it meant making a point. The Western world is blind and too afraid of Islamic threats to think clrearly. Look at what London has become - a crippled city soon overrun by Muslims. Israel is right in it's behaviour.

to the author of "Not really balanced"
Your question is a valid one but please read the follwoing
Under the U.N. Convention of the Law of the Sea a coastal state has a "territorial sea" of 12 nautical miles from the coast over which it is sovereign. Ships of other states are allowed "innocent passage" through such waters.
There is a further 12 nautical mile zone called the "contiguous zone" over which a state may take action to protect itself or its laws.
"However, strictly beyond the 12 nautical miles limit the seas are the "high seas" or international waters," Roche said.
The Israeli navy said on Monday the Gaza bound flotilla was intercepted 120 km (75 miles) west of Israel. The Turkish captain of one of the vessels told an Istanbul news conference after returning home from Israeli detention they were 68 miles outside Israeli territorial waters.
Under the law of a blockade, intercepting a vessel could apply globally so long as a ship is bound for a "belligerent" territory, legal experts say.
June 8, 2010 2:17 PM
Not really balanced
This misses an important point. The Israelis were unwelcome boarders of a boat in international waters. If it were Turks boarding an Israeli boat, I'm confident the Israelis would have used more than clubs and knives. Why is it OK for the Israelis to defend themselves but not the Turks trying to deliver building materials to Gaza. Perhaps the reason why the Israelis are cast in a bad light by the media is because their gov't seems to take every opportunity to show the world they are not interested in peace with Palestine. Israel is making the same mistakes with the Palestinian conflict that the US has with the entire middle east. I can't help but think that if Israel would allow humanitarian materials into Gaza, I wouldn't be writing this right now. Lets try to remain objective.

Airports and Metal detectors
My Rabbi had a brilliant analogy last Shabbos.Assume a group of vocal peaceniks were coming through JFK airport. They had flowers and signs announcing that peace and love was their aim and they were boarding a plane for Switzerland to proclaim the end of war. They reach the metal detectors in front of Swiss Air but refuse to go through because it was unnecessary and peace was their goal. How far do you think TSA would let them go before they were stopped and/or arrested?
A nation has a right to protect itself and its citizens.Israel did no less and no more than any other nation would have done.
June 8, 2010 1:16 PM
Israel shall prevail
This whole flotilla fiasco merely emphasizes one fact: the State of Israel shall prevail and shall not bend the knee to any power bent on its annihilation. It has the moral authority to impose that maritime blockade and adopt any other measures to protect its citizens and territorial integrity. Those militants and their fellow travellers challenge the Israeli armed forces at their peril. Let the world howl its head off: Israel shall prevail!

Its in their DNA - Correction
In Darfur 600 were killed last month, not 6,000 (which I typed in error). But the message is the same.
June 8, 2010 12:42 AM
Its in their DNA
Last month alone Islamists killed more than 6,000 defenceless people in Darfur. It is just a statistic and a minor news item on the BBC. Turks killed 37,000 Kurds in 1980... No problem, no outcry (I am not even referring to 1.5m Armenians massacred by Turkey (and denied by them). In the past approx 4 years Turks killed some 5,500 Kurds. Still no problem...no outcry... no UN or Human Rights investigatios. But 9 violent Islamists killed in self defence.... there is widespread hysteria all over Europe. Why is everyone so surprised? Ever since Rome converted to Christianity, about 1,700 years ago, the Jews were blamed for it. Roman brutal rule of their conquered populations was such that no Jew would have had the slightest chance of any decision on life and death. Besides, crucifiction was a Roman method of execution - not Jewish! But a conveient story was staged. One can only conclude that over the centuries this hatred is now in their DNA.

Western "media" did not "fell" for anything, they know very well what they do - they are an anti-Israeli and/or anti-American propaganda outlet for any suicidal maniac that comes along.
That's it that simple.

June 7, 2010 7:08 AM
this report clearly tells the truth.
However, my question is: what is the right tactic to respond? if the fight is for public international image, what is the answer? What would have happened if the response had been sending 50 small boats with descendants of the hollocaust standing in front of the Gaza activist, with signs saying: "live my people alone" "we have been killed for 2000 years" "we are the survivors of the hollocaust, you go home, go back to Europe" " we are the survivors of inquisition, you go home, go back to Spain"......
This is a fight that has many fronts, military is one, international image is another front, economic is another front....Each front is different...

Two shocking points:
Shocking that the anti-Israel - pro PLO organizations would have the world believe that the passengers on the ship were "intellectuals" etc!!!
Shocking that the press has left out that the number of crew members needed on a cargo ship is about 12 or so!!!!

the term "activist" is misleading -
The term "activists" connotes practitioners of non-violence like those who peacefully demonstrated against racial segregation in the 1960's. Those on the Gaza flotilla need a different descriptive term that connotes violence. "Militants" might be better.
June 6, 2010 10:40 PM
Truth speaks out!
That's what their lying god allah teaches them, lies lies and more lies. The truth will prevail and so will we Jews and Israel.
June 6, 2010 10:04 PM
One good thing...
One good thing to come out of this horrible fiasco: Now more than virtually EVER BEFORE, the israelis (read that the JEWS) know very clearly who their friends are and who their enemies are! That's whether we're talking about individals, groups/organizations, movements, political entities, media sources, or entire naitons. Let no one again be naive. We have at our disposal almost anywhere on earth the capability to learn the absolute truth through truthful sources of information (I urge people to learn from media investigator Aaron Klein). Anyone arguing with fabricated pieces of evidence and contrived words of hateful propaganda are without a doubt WILLFULLY ignoring the truth, derived from pure hatred, and the support for the notion that Israeli (read that Jews once again), are out to hurt and kill palestinians and Arabs and have no right to a country, or even to exist. This applies to all those commentators here who I believe Aish did well to include despite their ignorant and hateful rhetoric, since we NEED TO KNOW who they are. And to all those kind people from the non-jewish nations and religions sincerely voicing their support, know that our Almighty Creator plans to reward you in big ways. Same with those L.A. policeman who amicably and determinedly protected that singular student, Daniel, during a scary demonstration in front of the Israeli Consulate a few days ago. The others frankly have no hope in the end. With people and entire nations worldwide being exposed currently as being either "all meritorious or all wicked" in this context, we can at least feel comfort in knowing it is a sign as from our prophets that Moshiach will appear soon and redeem G-d's people from any more of this horror.

Good fences make good neighbors.
I suggest you follow the advice of the late Rabbi Kahane, who knew very early just who and what we were fighting. The moment we try to engage these thugs and criminals in any "meaningful" negotiations, we've already lost. They don't want to deal. They want to kill.

A misunderstanding of Isael in thewesteren media
There is a great variance between what is reported in the western media and what Israel reports as their side of the
on going Gaza conflict.
June 6, 2010 7:59 PM
Understanding vs Fear
I received answers to my questions over these distressing events in beloved Israel. The first answer was: What does the media gain by portraying Israel as such a villain. It should have been an easy answer, but I am a trusting soul. Of course, it sells! Anti-semitism sadly, draws more attention, and scape-goating Jews for every ill distracts attention, and creates a downtrodden victim.
Secondly, I understand now why Turkey is whipping up the masses using the Gaza blockade.
The world will find that sacrificing the Jews does not stop tyrants, and a world that allows it, is not a world worth living in.
I will pray to Hashem for help, because 'all else' is failing and I fear another Holocaust is unfolding.
June 6, 2010 7:08 PM
How stupid do the Hamas think the world is? The bottom line is that Flotilla was trying to start an International Incident. If not, then all they had to do was to allow the inspection of the ships and allow Israel to distribute the aid. As a US citizen, please let me take this opportunity to apologize to Israel for Mr. Obama as well as his czars? I ask that you not judge all of the US citizens because of the dangerous man that is now in our White House and trying his best to take down our country. Please hold us up in prayer, that he does not succeed.

Eric gets a gold star for accurately portraying both Israel and the Jews for what we have always been... the whipping-boy for world-opinion whenever they need one. We should have learned long-ago that what the world thinks of us does not matter; what Hashem thinks of us DOES! When we as a nation AND its people learn this once and for all, we shall have security AND peace. But worrying what leaders around the globe think of us rather than worrying about our soldiers, sailors, airmen and citizens will only continue more of what we have gotten to this point... namely condemnation, death of innocents and destruction. Has modern-day history not taught us ANYTHING as a people? The only reason the U.N. recognised our need to return to our homeland 63 years ago is because they did not want us in their lands. Now, they do not want us to have our own land. Just listen to what anti-Semites like Helen Thomas said about us as a people last week! (It's all over u-tube) It's time we stopped worrying about what the world thinks of us, and did what was right for our people both in and outside of Israel. It is time to unite as Jews (and Gentiles) who support Israel. That means doing whatever it takes to protect our people; for no one else (other than Hashem) will! When we learn this, practice what is written in the Talmud and follow what Hashem commands us to do, then and only then will Moshiach lead us to peace of man!

true or distorted
Thank you for the ballanced commentary. It shows what I have pointed out on at least 2 occasions before. The press and media in general do not give Israeli actions any credit in the fight against terrorism..
Maybe BBC and the Times should investigate the facts a bit more rather than attempt to sell sensational coverages

The Truth In The Corridors Of Love Will Free Us When
The Truth In The Corridors Of Love Will Free Us When
By D.K. Milgrim-Heath©2009-2010
The truth in the corridors of love will free us when-
When all world hatred's abolished by all men.
Walking down the corridors of love-
I think of thoughts that I should think of.
In my lifetime can world ever peace be?
Can existing boundaries of love destroy evil to be?
Where everyone can have a truthful education-
No matter wherever is that that nation!
Where everyone’s free to walk-
Expressing themselves when they talk.
These are the corridors of love-
When abundant peace will give its feel of!

I had already found and posted this
On my website, The Vail Spot. I am a strong supporter of Eretz Yisroel. I just wish that the Isreali government was a little more savy on media relations.
June 6, 2010 1:16 PM
Not only does the US side with the terrorist who seek to destroy Israel, the actually play both sides for the sole purpose to keep instability bween those nations so that they (the US) can continue to occupy those countries and drain them of their oil. Now they are siding with those on the Flotilla so that they have them as allies but this will change when it needs to. Why does the Israel Government still keep friendly with the US? I don't know, it is far to dangerous to do so. Maybe it is time Israel distance themselves from such an evil nation.
June 6, 2010 1:09 PM
This is our lot
If history is a clear lens , we must put up with this until Mosiach comes . It doesn't matter the cause . The world will blame and hate the Jew for ; fill in the blank . Life is a struggle . Hopefully for a true and meaningful cause .

An Iranian Mediterranean Port
Good video. However, you missed a crucial point. This was not about aid to people in Gaza but about breaking the blockade. There is nothing to prevent such aid from coming in overland from International relief organizations from either Egypt or Israel. Hamas also refused to accept the aid from these ships when it was brought overland. Once the blockade was broken by these “peace activists,” the next ships would be filled with arms. BTW – The Karine A had more than 50 tons of weaponry on it! The collapse of the blockade would serve Hamas’ interests in collecting weapons for the next round in their oft stated goal of destroying Israel. Much of the weaponry and money would come from Iran. The lifting of the blockade would in a de facto sense give the Iranians a Mediterranean port. The entire incident also served the Iranians in that it diverted attention, particularly that of the media and the US administration from the ongoing effort by the Iranians to become nuclear. There is so much at stake here. Keep up with your fine work!

International social networks
International there is a social netwerk that is being polluted by (amongst others) the media. Who believes the lie of the Koerdish murderer - they are convicting themselves - and who still believes in the lies of the humanright killer hamas? What are the facts? Mr. Simmons have put it is so utterly right in your video. I take a stand for Israel and more people are. I will "Never be silent!" and tell all my friends and family - my church and all I know about what is happening here in Israel and they will see the lie of the murderers, but they will also see the noble way Israel is handling. I do apoligize for what is done to your nation and I ask forgiveness for the acts done against your nation in Holland NOW and during the WW II. I pray more people will stand up and open their mouth to support Israel and it's people. May God bless you and keep you.

think the Jews got unfair media coverage
I don't like all the biased news media on the part of the Arabs.
Still know over 60 percent of Americans support Israel.
My sister had DNA testing for parkinson's and found out my Swedish grandmother's mother was from Finland and Jewish.
This DNA thing is really helping people find their roots.
I don't care what people say that you have to be raised Jewish to be Jewish. Because I find that I am discovering myself through this knowledge.
I look just like my Swedish grandmother, but every Jew I have met told me I'm Jewish. Our personalities still show up after several generations. I'm a fighter.
I don't like blatent injustice. A Palestinian saved my life in Lybia years ago, so I don't hate them. I just hate all the violence.
The Jewish people have a right to have a country.

Israel, Take Back Gaza - It's always Been Yours
For the first time in Australian history an anti-Israel protest march of 4000 walked the streets of Sydney. A day later a tornado hit the north coast flattening homes and throwing cars. Wake up Australia and stop buying into the media lies.
Aish.com supporters, please forgive Australia for this horrific event. Please pray that Australia will continue to support Israel.

OK ,, you tell a great story ..
But what is the end of this? for how long you think you can jail a whole city and deprive them from all the basics? I am a big supporter of Israel but I am clearly struggling with non sense and the policies of the fundamentalists and right wings on both sides ..

Israel should return in kind
Israel should return in kind what is and has been done to her. We can not forget that the Arab culture and religious leaders teach that this life is nothing and the afterlife is all. You can't reason with a people who don't value this life.
June 6, 2010 12:28 AM
Israel should use a sonar bomb for the next "peacefighters" coming with other boats. Then transform them into small plastic boats and sink their big one. Let them be there with no water and food. Maybe they will give up.
June 5, 2010 11:43 PM
Activists cameras were confiscated
I find the 'look at the IDF videos' its proof line to be pathetic. The activists cameras were confiscated, they cant show their side of the story!... According to many of them, ISrael fired before they boarded. I read a activists video was smuggled out in their underwear, i look forward to that coming out.
June 5, 2010 10:58 PM
Israel has always made a lousy work with the media
I agree. No matter how unfair Israel feels the world view. Israel has in fact a daunting task, and that is to work everday and step by step to learn to deal with international media. Anti-israeli press bias has shown to be far more powerful than the Israel Army and the Mossad working together, And this is not because of the recent event of the flotilla, it is dating from far time ago
June 5, 2010 9:39 PM
Reply to 'Destroy our enemies' - Binyomin,
'If the Israeli Navy was allowed to do its job properly and sink all vessels of the flotiila sending all 700 terrorists to the bottom of Davey Jone's locker'
So the definition of 'terrorism' now includes people delivering aid to Gaza? What is the matter with you?
June 5, 2010 9:34 PM
I support Israel.
It was obvious the people on the flotilla attacked the Soldiers. And they admitted they wanted to force their way into Israeli waters. You don't attack soldiers and expect them to do nothing. I believe and support Israel!!!
June 5, 2010 7:59 PM
Israel must and shall prevail.
No matter what the facts are and what the video shows there will always be those who refuse to see the truth. The truth is that had Arafat wanted peace and a country for his fellow Palestinians he could have had it when it was offered. Instead, he as well as later Palestinian leaders chose to fight.
Why? It is simply not in their interest to have peace because then they would be forced to answer to their people's demands for schools and for jobs. It is always easier to blame someone else for your laziness and selfishness. The Palestinian people have been and continue to be fooled and martyred by their leaders, so that a few on the top can live lives of luxury in their villas. If they are so loved by their people why do they walk around with the most abominable looking body guards? It amazed me how quickly the whole world stampeded to accuse Israel without knowing the full facts of the people on board. The unconditional justifications of these demented activists for the actions of Palestinians against Israel is abhorrent. There is no God that condones suicide under any condition. A mother sending her son/daughter to commit suicide and giving her blessing? That explains why they are in the quagmire and will remain in it, as long as they continue to fight for Israel's destruction. Israel must and shall prevail.
June 5, 2010 5:13 PM
I live in South America, here the media gave us a different story about these events, I think Israel should send this video all around the world including South America because we have a wrong information about the recently events. Now I am happy to know the truth, because I always like Israeli people and their history.
June 5, 2010 5:07 PM
It is much easier to fight and kill your self, than to work hard and adapt, than to look for peace and reconciliation. I don’t know how media doesn’t get board with reporting half truth and blame on Israel. Average American and European citizen really copes and struggles with every day life, how to send kids in school, earn to pay mortgage and rest, really people don’t care for Palestininas, it would be good for them to seek to be friends with Israel , instead of revenging and playing, if they don’t like it there, why they don’t emigrate? Moslems from another countries don’t care for them, don’t take them into their land…how they don’t get tired of this. From the Western point of thinking, and living here in Balkans, in Sarajevo, it is all stupid what are they are doing. If they don’t like it leave the place.. why waste life on changing something you haven’t produced, just leave the place, and come there some day as tourist. Change tactics, leave or negotiate. Killing, and terrorism have never given fruit of peace and freedom, only cycle of violence. Israel will forever defend it self and that is clear as day, world will never have intervention there, because they operate on Intelligence information and fact, not on media articles, how stupid from these journalists. Peace and blessing to Israel and all it citizens! For sure, if there is God, He loves them all!

A win-win situation on the high seas
What a difference between this morning's peaceful encounter and that of May 31. "[Violence] is not part of the game," former U.N. Assistant Secretary-General Denis Halliday told Al Jazeera on Friday from the Rachel Corrie. "The Turkish peace [activists] broke the rules. If you do that, you lose control, and you get panic and chaos and death. We are not going to do that."

Israel defends an illegal occupation
The roots of the problem lie in the Israeli occupation of Palestinian lands seized in the 1967 war. Israel rightly withdrew from the Gaza strip but maintains a military and economic blockade of the territory. Until this problem is resolved Palestinians will have a genuine grievance. Their cause is therefore supported not only by some moslems but also by many Western intellectuals and diplomats. Concentrating attention on a violent minority may be clever PR but it doesn't resolve the underlying injustice. Nor does it answert the fact that these people, unsavoury as they may appear on your video, were civilians defending a cargo ship from attack by hostile naval and air forces in international waters.

Mass Mailing the Truth to the Poeple of the World
As a Chinese, I feel it’s a great pity that the world has been confused by some politicians without basic conscience and sense of justice.
Nowadays, the world has double standards or color glasses to judge and comment something happened with Israel.
Palestinian President could term what Israeli soldiers killed anti-Israel activists as a "massacre" and inflame anti-Israel sentiment in the world. However, why did he not care of the Israeli civilians when they were attacked by rocket storms from his Gaza or by his Palestinian terrorists?
The Earth belongs to all the people of the world and everyone has the equal right. Israel is set up by the General Assembly Resolution and a legal member of the United Nations.
By the Charter and Resolution 181 (II), Israel is equal to other member states, but it was invaded just after its establishment and has been discriminated since.
We should let the people know there’re universal criteria for judgment and justice in the world. These are the UN Charter and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which are verified by the representatives of all member states.
June 5, 2010 5:12 AM
This video should be shown worldwide
Thank you Rabbi for showing the truth- how true that the so called 'peace activists' were nothing but and the media was dead set wrong in failing to report the facts that this was far from a peaceful demonstration and but another plot by Hamas and the terroists to wage their war on innocent Israelis.... Israel did not attack, the soilders were provoked and as always trying to minimize the amt of casulaties while defending themselves. Really the media is sickening, and sometimes I feel the whole world besides the Jews and friends will always seek Israel's destruction. If we must stand alone, we must, but we should never allow the world to spread falsities about us
June 5, 2010 3:52 AM

NGOs and Civilian Groups Must Get Involved
Israel and all fair-minded media audience must do something about the constant and prevalent unfair reporting of media. This video by Rabbi Shraga Simmons must be presented to the media, particularly to The New york Times and the BBC. These media entities must be made accountable for the irresponsibility of their reporting. They must be made to publicly admit their mistakes and correct such with the same prominence in their paper or programming as their incorrect reporting. But it is better that the ones who would call the attention of the media to this are media NGOs or civilian groups who has not taken side in the Israeli-Arab conflict. This is because the media already have formed their singular agenda in this conflict and would instantly dismiss Israel and the protectors and supporters of its peaceful cause.
June 5, 2010 1:55 AM
Why do Israel keep apologising to the antisemetic ignorant.
Let them all carry on.
We will never change there perspective.
We Jews need to stand strong and united.
Eventually the truth will be revealed when the very people attacking us will turn on them.
And then lets see what happens.
June 5, 2010 1:30 AM
The facts are that by condemning Israel,as in the world media coverage, this condemnation somehow is believed as a way to absolve their own guilt for all that is wrong in the world, politically, socially, morally or personally,if you have a problem blame it on somebody else,it is time that the media blame the real culprits for all that is evil.
Better yet to quit the blame game and fix the situation.
June 5, 2010 1:29 AM
Truly, even when faced with incontrovertible truth the will not see.
These people have embellished facts, imagined new history for the region and spewed hate for so long they cannot see or is that admit? the truth.
Mostly they cannot admit when they are wrong.Anymore than they could admit the truth of Israel's legal and long standing right to the land and to protect thier land and people!
June 5, 2010 1:20 AM

Finally, a clear view of the situation.
Congratulations to you, Shraga Simmons, and to Aish.com for this excellent, informative and well documented observation. If only there was some way to disseminate this over the main-stream media . . .
While supporting Israel may be a thankless task, I wish you the very best, and send you my support and thanks.
June 4, 2010 11:16 PM
I am really disgusted that all the newspapers and articles this week show Israel as the initiator of these attacks. Israel was set up this time and the activists were looking for a confrontation and started the attack - Israel defended itself and as usual is made to see the bad one! Israel has the right to inspect the goods on the flotilla because of all the weapons always smuggled into Gaza.
June 4, 2010 11:00 PM
The first casualty of war is the truth
As a non Jewish Australian, it is difficult to get a balanced view of the situation when our local Australian Media is irrationally biassed towards fighting the popular cause of 'Palestinian injustices' imposed by Israel. The west needs more narrative such as this to be pushed into the mainstream media so that we may at least have two sides to a story. Our local regional paper not only produces anti Israel editorial on middle east events (presumably without understanding and certainly without relevance to a small seaside community half a world away) but has also 'alarmingly' not censored anti semite commentary in its letters to the editor.
June 4, 2010 10:35 PM
The Muslim radio station in Cape Town South Africa has declared ELECTRONIC JIHAD against Israel. It is relentless in it's broadcasts. They are like Goliath. But all it took, was one stone in a sling in a small young man's hands, and his G-d. When all seems to be lost, then is the time to rejoice.
June 4, 2010 10:09 PM
I strongly support the right of israel to protect their and its people
I pastor a christian church in Orlando, Florida USA, and I would like to express my support and prayers to our Jewish brothers and sisters in Israel. Israel has the right to protect and defend their homeland, and after watching the video there is no doubt that Israel acted in self-defense. The church I pastor supports you and love you Israel and we know the desire of the Jewish people is to live in peace. Shalom.

June 4, 2010 9:29 PM
Yes, I believe you're right. Now that there is a wall between Israël and the palastinians, and much damage is done to the tunnels from where out weapens were transported to Hamas, the new tactic is "peaceflotillas".
June 4, 2010 9:05 PM
All, absolutely all of my friends and colleagues are against Israel.
Why?? Hammas got exactly what they planned. It was a suicide attack. no doubts about it. And the mass media of course was there, waiting to unconditionally supports Hammas. People should remember Sept 11th, the bombins in madrid and London and then they ould understand why israel must keeping defendin it citizens.
June 4, 2010 8:55 PM
the press must share blame
If the world's (especially the west) media would apply the same standards to a story when Israel is involved as they do to every other story they cover, then we wouldn't get all of this one-sided clap trap. Instead they report the propaganda and ignore any logical analysis of events even when there is contrary evidence available. Therefore we must assume that there is something else at play. How about anti-Semitism.
As long as this bias exists, i for one must blame the media for the deaths of these people, past and present.

The most reasoned and rational explanation of the "humanitarian" flotilla event I've seen. By and large, the media, have become the weapon of choice against Israel. If war, terrorism, economic sanctions, and political means don't work, let's let the BBC show us how to do it.
June 4, 2010 7:23 PM
As long as the Hamas and Palestinians teach their children to hate the Jews these incidents will always happen. The day they teach their children in school the right way to live, this anti-semitism will start to dissipate.
June 4, 2010 7:20 PM
You are absolutely right! And being "right" a few more times like this and the State of Isreal will cease to exist.
June 4, 2010 7:08 PM
I am ashamed to be an American Jew this week and see American media so misinterpret the assault on Israeli soldiers of so-called "activists." Even in this piece, Rabbi Simmons uses that term. These were not "activists," they were people willing to lose their lives in an effort to harm Israelis. That they did it by bringing some goods for beleaguered Gaza citizens is secondary, a means to the end of harming Israel. It is time for the world to let Israel live in peace. Israel is amazingly restrained in its response to the provocation of rockets, suicide bombers and now slingshots and knives. It is appalling to see the media turn David into Goliath and Goliath into David.
June 4, 2010 7:06 PM
He forgot to mention
Islam's goal is not just to delegitimize Israel. Delegitimization is a tool to win approval and complicity from the rest of the world in the destruction of Israel and the murder of all the Jews. They'll get to the Christians, Hindus, etc. soon enough. People need to realize that we're all in Islam's gunsights.
June 4, 2010 6:45 PM
Yes!! It's about time we heard Israel's point of view
I want IBC on my sky box, to counter the BBC's view.
Anyway.. A very good film thank you very much.
I think now you could do another film like this one which explains why Israel can't pull out of the Gaza strip all together. Probably you and most people may take it as read, however I'm nearly as ignorant as the rest of the world.
June 4, 2010 6:42 PM
Israel and Media
All Israel can do is to publish the facts widely. Then take the Media to court if it give the lie to the facts; suit them very heavily. We will continue to pray for Israel. The God of heaven see what is going on and will act to justify Israel for David's sake according to the promises.
June 4, 2010 6:34 PM
The Flotilla activists were nothing but a group of terrorists and anti-semitic politicians abetted by disgruntled Turkey trying to break the blockade with the sole intention of embarrassing Israel and setting a precedence to enable the free flow of arms and ammunition to their comrades, the Hamas. Like Turkey you now have the Irish trying to pick up a fight with Israel by encouraging the terrorists to use their vessel. I wonder whether the EU and the US are taking note of this provocation. Instead of upbraiding Israel they should not only caution Turkey and Ireland to avoid breaking International Law but should sternly warn them that, as member and associate member of the European Union and NATO, such provocative behavior will not be tolerated But, then again, the old antisemitism is reawakening in Europe whilst the Americans are left high and dry with a President that has Muslim background with pro-Islamic leanings. Israel and the Jewish Diaspora need to arouse themselves from slumber and rise to the occasion. Treat every opponent with utmost suspicion. Peace Activists act peaceably and within the law. Any law breaker should be considered armed and dangerous. The peace activist on board the flotilla were anything but that. They broke international law and were armed with weapons and gas masks. In short they were terrorist paid by Turkey and other nations to defy Israel's blockade of the Hamas governed Gaza.
June 4, 2010 6:29 PM
Amazingly Accurate and Insightful
Thank you so much, for exposing the truth. I couldn't have put into better words myself what you said. Let us just pray now that some can open their eyes as to what you are saying.
June 4, 2010 6:26 PM
No more lies about Israel
Everyone is quick to condemn Israel without understanding the entire story. Israel is justified by its actions.
June 4, 2010 6:13 PM
Cry the beloved world
Rabbi Simmons has given a cogent explanation. Truth appears to be easily moulded by individual perception and interpretation, but FACTS are, surely, immutable! When political agendas produce concealing or distortion of facts and use the mass media for disseminating warped information, then surely the mass media become powerful weapons of mass destruction. The masses are perfect material to manipulate; and the media are perfect tools to do this - by spreading bias and propoganda to a world which has been prepared throughout history to make a scape-goat of the Children of Israel. The facts seem clear: Hamas and its fellow organizations want to wipe Israel off the map. Israel, a tiny country, posed no threat to its overwhelmingly outnumbering, surrounding neighbours. Since its inception, it has been exposed to continuous attacks which have forced it to develop strong defence measures. Wars are not a happy game nor enjoyed by any side. Wars are not caused by angels - nor do they turn soldiers into angels. Ugly things happen. Fighting and killing are not the way to Heaven. But who can hear the voice of little Israel amidst the overwhelming clamour of the masses who, having been nourished on sifted and one-sided information, seem to feel more comfortable by seeing Israel as the victimizer rather than as the victim? Clearly, in this whole tragic sequence of events, the bringing of aid supplies to the poor residents of Gaza was not the main agenda. Israel has every right to screen incoming cargos for weapons and, had the ship followed reasonable requests to go through Ashdod, the whole sorry business would never have happened and the aid supplies would have been delivered to Gaza through the proper channels. But then, we must consider, the real agenda behind the whole flotilla mission would not have been realized!
June 4, 2010 6:10 PM
It amazes me that the world believes every country has the right to protect itself except for Israel. Since when do ships for humanitarian aide purposes come fully stocked with street warfare weaponry? One day the world will realize that G-D meant what HE said and said what HE meant when He told Abraham, " I will bless those who bless you and curse those who curse you." The L-RD stands and will always stand for Israel!
June 4, 2010 6:07 PM
Israel will stand!
Israel be strong! There are much bigger battles to come, but you are the apple of God's eye-----His name and His reputation are tied up in you. Remember His promises to you----every single one will stand! The nations will come to realise that all who come against you do so to their own harm.
June 4, 2010 6:01 PM
Thanks for hearing from "the other side2
June 4, 2010 5:45 PM
Woe to him/they that come against Israel!!!
Any person who is fair can see this with the truth. Israel defended itself. God is with the Jews. They will always be protected because of who is behind them. The terrorists can't lie and be believed as victims. Woe to him that goes against Israel/Jews!!!!

Blaming the Victim
In Judaism, women are allowed to bring charges of rape, including her husband---in this day and age, the majority of organized religions "own" their women--if a woman is raped--she is blamed for luring the rapist. It is no wonder that people that have little regard for their own women, children and potential grandchildren, will use people as terrorists so they can stay comfortably in their glass houses built on the funds that never went to their own poor & need a scapegoat to remain as billionaires to avoid becoming a target and have to give up lavish lifestyle.

I read in Mishpacha (from mid May) a Rabbis editoral that "Obama is getting it right" and thought WHAT??? As I read the article the Rabbi went on to say that this administration and now the rest of the media is hastening the coming of the Messiah.
Now that I have Trust in Hashem I can see his point. Not saying I agree but interesting way to look at it.
I was at a dinner last night and Senator John McCann was one of the guest of honor. He spoke about how Israel has the right to defend herself and that everybody else is wrong to not understand. I could go on but will stop here.
June 4, 2010 5:13 PM
disgusted by the dutch news, often anti Israel, ashamed that dutch people were on board. Please know that many, many people overhere are pro Israel, the news is mostly crawling to the other side.I am proud of you, that you dare to do something against terrorists .Got the Israeli flag in my halway, next to the flag of the Netherlands.Shalom Israel, may God be with you always.

Hi Rabbi Simmons,
Excellent information on the flotilla spectacle: concise and well supported argumants. Wish the media was as informed! I still remember the days you used to teach us in Orange County, CA. :-) Take-care!!
June 4, 2010 5:11 PM
What Netanyahu said during a press conference, I couldn't have said it better myself: Everyone in the world says that of course Israel has the right to defend itself. But every time Israel exercises that right, the entire international community pounces and condemns Israel from every direction. What's the point of having a right you can't make use of? And, when it comes to Israel, there's a double standard. Whenever there's any incident, Israel is 'guilty until proven guilty', and the Palestinian (terrorists) are always the "victim".
On another note, I'll add (a bit proudly) that throughout his almost-10-minute speech, Netanyahu didn't apologize once for the actions Israel took. He strongly defended what they did, while condemning the international community for their response. It's a nice change, having an Israeli leader who isn't trying to appease to the U.N. with apologies and admissions of guilt, someone who isn't afraid to stand up for his country.
June 4, 2010 4:59 PM
what's wronge with making sure that the ship carries only peasful matirals
Keep up the goog work.
June 4, 2010 4:52 PM
A beautiful exposition, showing the terrorists' motives perfectly.
Absolutely right; what happened to the other ships? Perfectly in accord with international practice, and the (local) law; nobody hurt. The scenes of beating of the soldiers is just fantastic; that some videos had been prepared before the paratroops arrived clinches the argument.
June 4, 2010 4:49 PM
those who live by the sword, shall die by the sword!!! i didn't like to see the commando getting thrown overboard. his heart must not have been in it. otherwise a job well done.
June 4, 2010 4:39 PM
Israel, be of strong heart in this mad world
The world is going crazy. How to confront this mania and collusion to demonize Israel is a serious task and I suggest the cleverest minds in mass psychology need to get to work. The scapegoating of Israel is now at a crisis point and must be reversed. Clever thinking is needed, as the world is being swept along with emotions. The most important issue is that Israel must NOT bend to demands, but must keep its position to defend itself, no matter how must it is goaded or threatened. It must not yield even one inch of its position, as it will make no difference at all, and will weaken its land and its people.
June 4, 2010 4:34 PM
a video that the world should see........
Show it all over........
June 4, 2010 4:25 PM
You're missing a few points...
That's a very well put together report. However, my questions are:
1. WHY is Israeli military boarding a ship in international waters?? They have no jurisdiction there.
2. If Israel can bring in an unlimited amount of weaponry, why can't gaza bring in sling shots, knives, pipes, etc.?
3. How does the Israeli military explain the fact that they SHOT AND KILLED several people on the flotilla? I believe that is what the world is referring to as a disproportionate aggressive response.
4. When is the Israeli military going to realize that killing people is not going to solve anything, but is merely adding fuel to the fire?
My point is, violence is not the answer (from any side). Be strategic, not aggressive.
June 4, 2010 4:19 PM
The media, so much of the time, wants to self promote as we saw in Haiti and LINK TV told the truth about it. The Israelis were the ones who first reached, set up and helped people. This is forgotten when once again the terrorists use the media to do great harm through them. Israel is always being attacked by the media where no even handed portrayal of the truth is presented. Where was the media in 1953 when the U.S. CIA put the Shah in Iran when the Iranian people wanted a democracy? They were not to be bothered or concerned, that's where. I can and we can hope and pray for the day that real peace is attained and promoted by all instead of the false "peace" flotilla that was obviously sent there to start a big fight and get the press willing to believe that Israel has no right to defend itself. Obviously armed to start something with all the armaments found on the flotilla and that, dear friends, is what happened. We must join with each other in prayer and determination to stop the onslaught and work toward peace in the Middle East for all of us, and I mean that for all the countries and people in Israel and surrounding countries. G-d wants us to live in peace and harmony with our human brothers and sisters no matter where they live and there has been too much loss of humanity when the terrorists get their way. The media should seek truth and verify it, not just headlines for their egos and shows on TV! G-d willing people will be able to figure out the difference. Bless you for telling the truth.
June 4, 2010 4:14 PM
Truth be known
Why does Obama praise and wallows in the aura of the people who hate us like Saudi Arabia, Iran, and all of the Islamic Countries, but turns his back and condemnsn the only Democracy in the middle east Israel. What is happening to American values
June 4, 2010 3:58 PM
Truth needs to be known by all
Is it possible to get a written version of this video? My dear friend is deaf, and he is a great supporter of Israel, but he would not be able to hear this, And I think he must - along with many seniors who are also hard of hearing. Can it be done?
June 4, 2010 3:55 PM
Israel needs to get better P R
When is Israel going to realize that in times like these you have to put together a professional PR dept. that speaks with one voice. After watching Michael Oren on CNN being torn apart I was in absolute tears. This cannot go on. Israel is loosing the media war and whatever steps it takes to defend itself isn't going to amount to anything if it looses the big one!!! THE MEDIA WAR!!!!! Israel is always a day late and then it doesn't count. The enemy has learned its media lesson well.Don't let them win the MEDIA WAR!!!!
June 4, 2010 3:29 PM
If Israel will be condemned no matter what then perhaps Israel should respond appropriately. The Turkish ship should have been disabled at sea while the other 6 ships taken to Ashdod. Lets be honest: Turkey is at fault and Netanyahu should be saying so loud and clear. Forget politics. He should be point the finger of blame where it belongs: at Turkey.
June 4, 2010 3:29 PM
Thank you for this video.
I am very shocked by this event, the hatred of Jews is increasing.
Israel must protect its citizens and country. But the world is blind.
June 4, 2010 3:26 PM
The stupid block against Israels more and more idols imopsing them on simple semi illitrate Moslems to worship. This is one of them. All the issue is political and pro Hamas. Israel has a full right to defend its civilians in all means. Those who cannot challenge Israel in the battlefeild send human shields to fight Israel from behind.
June 4, 2010 3:25 PM
the real jihad
The jihad being waged against the entire world is coming at dear Israel from all sides. TV news, the stupid American newspapers, who have long ago left true reporting. Obama and this terrible 111th Congress is in this jihad as well. He is MUSLIM, and will support his brothers. Israel, FIGHT, be strong and courageous, for the Lord your God goes before you. He is your strong tower!
June 4, 2010 3:13 PM
not only media is biased against Israel
important western media (CNN, BBC and CBC among others) report events based on opinions, not based on fact and use terms conducive to blame Israel; the reporters do not have neither the imparciality and in adition are poorly equiped to comments on legal aspects; is just plain ignorance, lack of profesionalism or bias? probably a combination of the above; what really shameful is that they ignore evidence that clearly shows that the so called "aid flotilla" had one goal: violence , planned by terrorist who use some "high profile" westerners too naive to realize what is behind all of this.
June 4, 2010 3:05 PM
This Canadian can see the truth
I can certainly see through the propoganda which is shown by American TV. I am shocked that Israel still sides with the US which is blatently against Israel and sides with the Flotilla
June 4, 2010 3:02 PM
two state solution for hamas= dead and deader
Keep up the good work
June 4, 2010 3:01 PM
Self defense yes, stupid excesses no
There should be no question that Israel has the right to self defense but the Torah makes it clear that even in war you are obliged to show restraint. Israel's invasion of Gaza and the way it has conducted the blockade, in my opinion has gone way beyond what was necessary. Turning a blind eye to these excesses only builds more support for Hamas and Hezbollah. Israel has substantially lost the moral high road and handed it over to terrorists. A more adroit Israeli leadership is needed to avoid unnecessary death and destruction. Anything else threatens the long term survival of the Jewish state.
June 4, 2010 3:00 PM
Isn't this enough violence? How much can we take?
I love Israel, being Jewish and would love to live in a Peaceful, Quiet and loving true blue JEWISH STATE, but I am always terrified to even step foot in Israel. My husband is from Israel and we both are very proud, but there is way too much violence. I don't like their LAW OF ATTRACTION out there.
My dream of a Jewish State is to be happy, peaceful, and love all the Jewish people there and around the world. It seems like ISRAEL is nothing but a wonderful place of VIOLENCE. It just saddens my heart and soul. I have always dreamed of going to Israel. I guess these are the reasons why I keep away from there.
I can only hope and wish for PEACE for all of the Jewish people over there. May Hashem bless all of us!
June 4, 2010 2:54 PM
I cannot listen to the B.S. at the BBC and all the other pro-terrorist jew-hating media, they just make my blood boil. It's a lot healthier getting my info from aish.com and Israel National Radio. G-D bless Israel and keep the truth coming.
June 4, 2010 2:45 PM
Why is the media so biased
What does the media gain from mis-reporting the plight of Israel? Do they believe the world will be a safer place after the terrorist succeed in destroying Israel with suicide martydom tactics?
June 4, 2010 2:45 PM
A little reality from the good side.
June 4, 2010 2:44 PM
Don't hold your breath.
The sad fact is, the media knows they are on the side of evil. Expecting them to change, is like expecting Hamas to wake up one morning and really want peace. It's never going to happen. You're going to have to do whatever you need to do, regardless of what the news media tells the people. Good bye and good luck.

I would pointedly like to ask the Turkish government that If the sovereignty of Turkey was being threatened and they had their soldiers come under a life threatening situation, how would they have acted different?

Darkness will never shine in light but light replace darkness.
Cain hated his brother Abel and opened a door for Satan to use him against his brother. God does not seem to judge or blame Satan but Cain because of his brother Abel's blood. Where does hate come from and where will it end. The day humans will recognize the bad friend the wolf in sheep clothing. Cain and Abel were both sons of Adam having equal rights but the devil was not happy about it and therefore sowed lies, the lies of hate. What would one do with a face full of death steaming eyes. Let us look at it this way, we were all in a way created to glorify God and God to glorify us through Christ. How long would hate fight love without giving up. Toady I am Cain and you are Abel after all we are brothers, who is this between us? God help us to replace hate with love and grant us favor to forgive each other to receive your forgiveness because nobody can fight love for ever. Darkness will never shine in light but light replace darkness. For how long shall we be used against each other? God forbid.

What brought about the "free" world's outrage?
It was not the images of Jews being savagely clubbed that caused the outrage of the “free” world. For 2000 years, such images have been as generic and predictable as the sun rising at the east. The outrage was caused by the finale of the incident: Jews fighting back the savages and even killing them. Europe and the Muslim world found that too hard to stomach and caused them severe indigestion.

I totally agree with commentator # 19 and would add that not so long ago, South Africa was a friend of Israel. What a pity that in today's world friendship and alliance are burried by self-interest.

in the web of hatred
Israel is caught in the biblical web of hatred meant to bring us to our senses and return us to true self identity. As long as we don't know who we are, a people meant to stand alone and represent Hashem, the nations will force our hand and deny us membership in their societies. In this week of Parshat Shlach, let us never allow our fear to guide our actions. The last time we did that we inherited Tisha B'Av.
June 4, 2010 1:52 PM
Israel will never bedictated to
Israel will never be dictated to by an organisation that denies her right to exist. She will do whatever has to be done to protect her territorial integrity and the lives of her citizens. If that means maintaining a maritime blockade and using military force, so be it. Let the world first examine the rot that lies at the heart of Hamas's true intentions.
June 4, 2010 1:50 PM
The most unfortunate part is horrifying. Yesterday on several different national radio news shows, they were saying over and over that American Jewry as a whole has abandoned their fellow Jews in Israel, in favor of their own political ideas, and that American Jews have overall remained silent. If secular reporters are picking up on this . . . oy vey for us. We need to stay united and clarify the issues to other Jewish people. This exact Turkish group was legally named in U.S. policy as a "terrorist group" earlier THIS year, because they were tied to a failed terrorist attack on American soil! Did the media conveniently forget about that? If they were to send a ship to the American shoreline, we would blow them right out of the water, for the safety of America. We wouldn't warn them repeatedly to turn around as Israel did. We would put National Security first. To expect any less of any other country must mean that there is an alterior motive. One of the newscasters went on and on that this is anti-semitism plain and simple. He spelled out in detail what every Jew should already be aware of. It is a very scary thing when Jew is against Jew and it is even announced on public radio. The fate of Israel is in G-d's hands. Praying for their safety is more important than the public opinion of the entire world. Antisemitism is not new, it is a fact of history. What is an even bigger TRAGEDY than public opinion, is that our very own fellow American Jews are beleiving it on a large scale and siding with the Arab nations, against the Jewish people of Israel and against the basic facts of the matter. It is a huge mitzvah to publicize this video and other similar articles to as many other Jewish people as possible, in the hopes to bring the Jewish people together as a united front in support of the Nation of Israel.

ww2: enemy supply ships
In world war 2 Britain and Germany destroyed ships that delivered any supplies to their enemies even though those ships could be in international waters thousands of miles from land. Israel is at war with it's Arab neighbors since they attacked and in invaded Israel when Israel was proclaimed a nation by the United Nations. To this day the Arabs surrounding Israel and beyond state their intention to kill Jews and Israelis which is an act of war. Israel is only doing what any nation would do to protect themselves in war time.

It is madness to think a country cannot defend itself, it is also madness to think you have to give away half of your capital City but it has nothing to do with that. It has all to do with end times and biblical prophecy. I feel very sorry for those countries and leaders who are against Israel. The time will come when it is to late to repent and they will know what it means to suffer the rath of God!!
June 4, 2010 1:38 PM
We must stop explaining and/or apologizing for what we do. It falls on deaf ears. The Arabs, and the world in general, only understand action. Whether right or right Israel/Jews will always be wrong so drop the explanations. Israel/Jews need to just do what needs to be done. Yosher koach.
June 4, 2010 1:31 PM
the plain truth
Thanks for the plain facts Rabbi Simmons
The world has bought the lie .But there is still hope for Israel..with man it seems impossible..but with G-d all things are possible. Israel HAS TO TURN BACK to the G-d of their fathers. He is the One who has been fighting their battles for generations gone by and there is no other way.
June 4, 2010 1:27 PM
What is the truth?
Wikipedia defined Terrorism as the systematic use of Terror especially as a means of coercion. There is no universally agreed, legally binding, or criminal law definition. The Media reacted negatively to the death of 10 passengers, killed by Israeli soldiers.
The Prime Minister of Israel defended the action of the Israeli Navy, since the ship was determined to incite fighting by running the blockade. The passengers were prepared to fight with clubs, knives, fire bombs, etc., and overwhelmed Israelis who climbed down ropes from a helicopter. After serious injuries were sustained by the Israelis were they permitted to draw their pistols, and casualties resulted. The passengers claim they reacted to the oppressive behavior of the Israelis, who refused their attempt to bring humanitarian supplies to Gaza. 5 ships of the Humanitarian flotilla obeyed, and if no weapons are found, the goods will be sent to Gaza. If the Turkish ferry was determined to run the blockade, and the goal was to cause an international incident to defame Israel, it was successful.
Hamas has instituted a new form of warfare: a war of propaganda and distorting events. Israel must show the facts as depicted by films of the struggle, over and over to the world to demonstrate the truth.
The next ship to run the blockade is said to be delayed so that filming can be made of their attempt to run the blockade. Israel must plan for this attempt, since the Palestinians have demonstrated a willingness to doctor films to blame Israel for killing children, who only pretended to be dead.
June 4, 2010 1:26 PM
Thank you for an excellent report. I am so depressed at the wicked distortion of the facts in the Western media. I still can't understand why they do it, except that they are probably afraid of bombs in the streets of their capitals. If that is the case, then they are naîve, since the bombs will come anyway, in time. Like the appeasers at Munich, who opted for dishonour to avoid war, the West will eventually face both. Courage Israel! There are more people with you than you think. Unfortunately, most of us are pretty helpless to do anything;

"My Message to BBC News"
This message was sent to the BBC News Channel today.. Hopefully they will see the truth:............
"In order for the BBC to be completely unbiased referring to the so-called Gaza "aid" Flotilla, I ask you to have a look at this video from Aish.com in Jerusalem:
It seems obvious to me that the enemies of Israel are trying very hard indeed to alienate the world against Israel, trying to make out Israel to be the aggressor by very craftily using the general media. Don't be misled. This is their way of going on in 2010. Devious indeed. Israel is not perfect by any means, but "aggressor" - Certainly not. Hopefully you will see the truth here & report all of the true facts in future broadcasts.
June 4, 2010 1:15 PM
the Flotilla political stunt/flap
Since the Flotilla political stunt to "aid" Israel has gotten so much biased media attention and broad support for Hamas and the Palestinians, it bothers me when the media omits certain facts on what Israel cites such as the weaponry used by these so-called Palestinian "peace activists". Even on the Daily Show with Jon Stewart, he forgot to point out that there were in fact weapons on board of the flotilla, and jokingly said with the "aid" the ship was bringing, one of the only weapons was the "crutch-a-pult", which is a sling shot between two crutches and a wheelchair. But, the bottom line is that the flotilla heeded the IDF's directive on the radio to dock at the Ashdod port. Instead, the "peace activists" were spiteful and confrontational with the IDF. All in all, we must attempt to spread the truth of the situation regarding the flotilla heading toward Gaza faster than the anti-Israel lies and propaganda, given that this political stunt was another attempt to make Israel look bad in the eyes of the international community. Furthermore, I'm getting tired of hearing the mantras that Israel is "occupying Palestine" and is an apartheid state. However, what people want to hear is like an opiate and they're not really interested in the opposing side except to "counter" it with their own political spin, when we try to reason with them on the actual circumstances of the situation, particularly in regards to the Israeli/Palestinian conflict.
June 4, 2010 1:08 PM
How can we publicize it ? I think we need a lot more like this one to "educate" the world. Sadly, I also think that the hatred towards Israel is greater than the ability to listen to the voice of truth and reason.... Nevertheless, it should not stop us from "fighting back" and screaming the truth. Thank you, Rabbi Simmons.
June 4, 2010 1:08 PM
Israel has my support
@ Eyal, not all of us in the states were fooled by the media blitz blaming Israel, common sense tells me a ship going thru a blockade is risking much, and what for? Surely not as a innocent supply ship. You are not alone, you DO have support and voices, I do think Israel was set up to look bad, but not all are as foolish as to believe the media. G-d Bless, stay strong, and know that there is many of us who do what we can in our small way to support you.
June 4, 2010 12:54 PM
this says it all
Thank you for showing the truth. There is so much that is lies, and it's hatred that obfuscates truth, and it does seem, the media is quick to jump and say, The Israelis are cruel and did wrong. I think it's so obvious from this reasoned video, what is happening: the Truth.
Sadly, GAZA has been the source of such painful lobbing, and back and forth, stabbing. When will they ever learn? If peace is truly what's needed, and if murder is what it is. Religion being what it is, being fought to die for such a cause, to murder? Well that doesn't make sense and maybe the world has become an illogical, insane place, that people speak this way.
There is nothing truly sacred in laying down a life in order to murder countless others. Where is ever, the gain. Just pain. More pain. More anguish.
Yes to this video and Thank You for telling it, truly, like it is or just, was.

More facts to consider.
June 4, 2010 12:33 PM
I am ashamed to be associated with South Africa. The so-called democratic government of South Africa is one of the many countries condemning Israel due to pressure from their Islamic "friends".
Israel has the right and obligation to protect her citizens and people inside her borders. The world knows it, but still choose to believe and accept a lie, just to keep the Arabs (and oil supplies) happy.
AM ISRAEL CHAI
June 4, 2010 12:27 PM
The world all must see this video, the truth
Wonderful exposition dear friend.
June 4, 2010 12:25 PM
Obviously correct, Rabbi!
The tragedy is that so many people are so determined to ignore reality and buy, without serious question, the Palestinian narrative.
June 4, 2010 12:11 PM
Thank you for great analysis
Thank you for providing great insight and context into the situation. I don't understand why Israel always seems to be caught on the back foot in the Media War - and then lands up justifying or defending its actions on the International stage. Why do it this way, when Israel has a perfectly good case to put forward in the first place?
June 4, 2010 12:09 PM
Destroy our enemies
It has been long overdue for the gloves to come off.If the Israeli Navy was allowed to do its job properly and sink all vessels of the flotiila sending all 700 terrorists
to the bottom of Davey Jone's locker then imagine how many more innocent victims of terrorism would live in the years to come. We are at war with iinternational terrorism. The object of war is to inflict as many KIA on the enemy as possible. Lets get to work.
June 4, 2010 11:56 AM

Israel and the world
More and more Israel is on one side and the world is on the other side. The hatred of the muslimwprld , the compromize of the EU. and the falling of support from USA, makes Israel more and more alone. But...not really because on the gorund of the Covenant of Sinai G-d is on the Israel side and this shows the need of being strong in G-d by the Torah and mitzvot. Israel will then be here then all the others has gone.
June 4, 2010 11:52 AM
I read that they disabled all the other 5 small ships but decided that this one was too big and may cause humanitarian problem if it floated out to sea.
June 4, 2010 11:34 AM
The "peaceniks" are lucky I'm not the PM of Israel. I'd warn the UN that navy has orders to blow blockade runners out of the water.
June 4, 2010 11:31 AM
Keep them in Gaza!
An Israeli Arab friend of mine had a good solution. Why didn't the Israelis impound the ships, check the goods (obviously discarding all the weapons they found on board) and send them by road WITH THE ACTIVISTS, to Gaza – and then ensure that the activists could not leave Gaza indefinitely, as they had no permission to enter or leave Gaza! Living in Gaza should be ample punishment!
June 4, 2010 12:25 AM
Thank You Rabbi Simmons well spoken and extremely clever.
However isn't it ironic that this story should develop and take place at a time of internal strife in israel? we believe that "Eisav hates Yaakov" and always will until we merit the coming of moshiach. The Gaza story is the excuse - not the reason - for the anti israeli semitic atttacks on jews.
June 3, 2010 10:25 PM
You got it backwards
Of course this was a media set up...It was obvious...Israel should have seen it coming. The media didnt fall for it Israel did...Israel gave them the story they wanted on a silver platter. Why not disable the ship without boarding and tow it to harbor in Israel, then allow them to come off the ship when they are good and ready? Thereby enforcing the blockade and avoiding escalating confrontation. Israel needs to learn "Jew-doe" the gentle way or "indirect application of force to defeat an opponent. More specifically, it is the principle of using one's opponent's strength against him and adapting well to changing circumstances".(Judo-Wikipedia)
June 3, 2010 9:09 PM
Please distribute this!
Rabbi Simmons has not only brilliantly and succinctly refuted media claims of "Israeli aggression," but also given us the motive behind the violence of the activists. Bravo!

Israel needs to defend her borders, regardless of what the media leads one to believe. Doing politically correct moves only hurts the Israeli people and the government. If the government wants to know about protection of their people, the need look no farther than the Torah.

An excellent video explanation. It should spread world wide
I'm an Israeli, and have no one out of Israel to send this video to. The explanation is very sharp. Therfore it must get to as much people as it can, outside Israel.
The feeling here is really bad. Personally I feel now like there's no one in the world except few jews and pro-israelis that support us and don't fall into the anti israeli/jew misleadings. Alone at the battle. Only three countries refused to condemn Israel. That means almost everyone got biased and no longer seek the truth and/or afraid of the growing threatening muslim minorities (minorities? not for long). Do all humans got blind?!
I'm pleading you people! Go out to the streets and rise your voices to the sky! We all know what is going on. The events of the last few days are only triger, symptom to the real issue, and yo know it!!
Israel is under massive attack in a new field - media - with a main weaponary called lies and propoganda. I don't know when it exactly began, but for sure it is around us for several years. Out of israel, I think there might be few millions. If each of these (and you among them) start working on reveal the lies and spreading them, our situation could be better.
This is about justice, my life, your life, and at the end, the rest of the non muslims lives around the world.

IDF needs to be Praised for the good job they performed
The IDF soldiers did such a great job in protecting all those people. I'm very proud of them and handling that situation quickly, before more lives could of been taken.

I think that the Media are wrong
I think that the Media are wrong. I have seen many videos on the news. I don’t understand how they can still say that Israel is in the wrong. Even when the video evidence shows that when the Israelis came on to the ship they were immediately attacked, its like they don’t care what the truth is they are sticking to their opinions to always show that Israel is in the wrong.

i think that its all disgusting
I think that the Medias are wrong. I have seen many videos on the news. I don’t understand how they can still say that Israel is in the wrong. Even when the news says the Israelis came on to the ship and were immediately attacked, its like that they don’t care what is the truth they are only sticking on what they think is the best and to always show that Israel is in the wrong.
