Rabbi Andrew Saffer attended Mount Scopus College, and then studied Law and Information Technology at Monash University, anticipating a career in internet law at the same commercial law firm as his many cousins. A six-week Jerusalem Fellowship trip to Israel changed that. Andrew stayed on after the program ended, and after 6 years of full-time study at Aish HaTorah Jerusalem (while moonlighting as a graphic designer and events photographer), Andrew was ordained as a rabbi. He met his wife, Rachelle (also from Melbourne) in Jerusalem the very next day. They married and moved back to Australia, and now have four adorable children. Andrew spends his spare time listening to the same music your parents did.

Rabbi Jon Neumann grew up in Melbourne, Australia and studied Commerce at Melbourne University while concurrently working in Management Consulting in Australia and the USA. After six years of corporate life, Jon moved to Israel, and spent six years learning at Aish HaTorah Jerusalem. Jon also spent two years working with Aish International in Jerusalem and internationally to improve and expand Aish's outreach efforts. In 2006, Jon moved back to Melbourne joining Aish Australia to help teach and share the wisdom of Torah with the local community. Jon is married to Rivka and they have four children who ensure their parents don't have too much free time on their hands.

Rabbi Chaim Willis was raised in a secular Jewish home in New York City. He came to Israel in 1975, and learned with Rabbi Noach Weinberg in Aish Hatorah. Together with Rabbi Kalman Packouz, he started the first Aish Hatorah branch in St. Louis, Missouri in 1979. He is presently the executive director of Aish Hatorah South Africa in Johannesburg. He has recently published a book on Pirkei Avos, Sages Online: Ancient Wisdom for a Modern World.

Originally from Mexico, earning a degree in Software and Computer Engineering, and then a Master’s Degree in Talmud from Aish Jerusalem. After marrying Karen Ziskin (Rabbi Ziskin’s sister), they opened an outreach center in Brazil, and then founded Aish Mexico. In 2011, the Pilatowskys joined Aish in Johannesburg. Rabbi Pilatowsky teaches a variety of subjects including Talmud, Personal Growth, Kabbalah and Jewish Philosophy -- and he is an avid drummer and Israeli folk dancer!

Rabbi Chaim (Michael) Vegoda studied Management and Law at Leeds University, and earned rabbinic ordination in Jerusalem. Rabbi Gedalia Kauffman was born in the “Mile-High City” of Denver, Colorado where he learned to snow ski as soon as he learned to walk. He attended university in Boston, earning a degree in Middle Eastern History. Rabbi Kauffman then spent three years travelling Southeast Asia, and ended up in Jerusalem, where he spent nine years learning at yeshivas including Aish HaTorah. In 2005, the Kauffmans were lured to Aish Johannesburg with promises of a maid and a swimming pool.

Rabbi Yisroel Ziskin grew up in a “traditional” (pepperoni pizza in the driveway and vegetarian in the house) Jewish home, on the northeast coast of the USA. He studied Psychology and Political Science at Emory University in Atlanta, and accumulated three years of experience by counseling teenagers in a private psychiatric hospital. After engaging people on trains and in youth hostels throughout Europe he used his last dollars to jump on a boat sailing from Athens to Israel. In 1998, Rabbi Ziskin chose to leave his teaching/counseling position at Aish Jerusalem to share his knowledge and experience with the youth of South Africa. Rabbi Ziskin likes junk food and basketball.

Pretoria-bred Rabbi Shlomo Karpes was a competitive equestrian show jumper for 16 years. Through his growing involvement in Aish SA, Rabbi Karpes ventured on the famous “Fellowships Tour” to Israel – and he hasn’t looked back since. After the tour, Rabbi Karpes decided to spend three years at Aish Jerusalem. Rabbi Karpes now keeps a busy schedule at Aish by teaching high school and varsity students in Johannesburg, giving personalized lessons and fundraising. Rebbetzin Gabi Karpes teaches marriage preparation classes for brides-to-be, that is when she’s not busy cooking delicious Shabbos meals or nurturing their five adorable children.

Yoni Kayman was born and raised in New York. He always dreamed of moving to Israel and came to study in Jerusalem in 1999. Three years later he married Batya. In 2003, Yoni began studying and teaching at Aish Jerusalem, and led a group of students who came to Israel with the Jerusalem Fellowships and Birthright program. Yoni has also worked in the financial sector, receiving the SEC Series 7 authorization. He later worked in real estate investments and money exchange, representing the Forex Israel VP Company. In 2009, Yoni joined Aish Tel Aviv, where he lives with his wonderful family.

Shaul Rosenblatt grew up in Liverpool and still supports the best team in football. He earned rabbinic ordination at Aish Jerusalem where he met his first wife, Elana a"h, who passed away in 2001 after a long struggle with cancer. They had four children together, and Shaul has another two with his second wife, Chana, who he married in 2003. Shaul’s book, Finding Light in the Darkness, explores the issue of facing hardship in a positive way. Shaul founded Aish UK in 1993 and Tikun UK in 2006.

Julian Fraser was born in London, grew up in London and currently lives in London. Rabbi Naftali Schiff is Executive Director of Aish UK. Raised in London, Naftali studied at Yeshivat HaKotel in Jerusalem's Old City prior to graduating from LSE with a degree in International Relations. He made aliyah and joined the IDF's Givati unit. In Israel, he received rabbinic ordination from the Jerusalem Rabbinate and a Diploma of Education, before assuming the role of Director of the Jerusalem Fellowships. In 1999 he returned to London to head Aish UK. He is also the founder of independent charities GIFT (Gift it Forward Today) and JRoots – an educational organization that facilitates Jewish Journeys Connecting Generations.

Rabbi Moshe Mayerfeld is Managing Director of Aish UK. Born in New Jersey, he moved to Israel at age 17. Moshe received rabbinic ordination at the young age of 22, as well as a B.A. in Jewish Philosophy. He worked with troubled and at-risk youth, gaining experience in drug and alcohol abuse counselling, and helping teenagers from broken homes. Israeli born and American raised, Rabbi Shlomo Farhi was brought up in the Syrian community in Deal, New Jersey. Rabbi Simon Silver is head of Young Professionals and Strategic Development for Aish UK. Simon studied history at Bristol University and graduated with Honours in 2000. He lived in Japan, working for the Japanese government to improve international relations and understanding of different cultures. In 2002 he moved to Israel to study at Aish HaTorah. Following a year at St. Johns Wood Synagogue as Director of Programming, he received rabbinic ordination in Israel in 2008. He has been with Aish UK ever since.

Rabbi Rowe holds a BA in philosophy from University College London (UCL) and an MPhil in philosophy from Birkbeck College. He was a tank driver in the 401st Armoured Brigade of the Israel Defense Forces. Rabbi Rowe studied for almost a decade in Israel in various Talmudic institutes and is considered one of the most dynamic Jewish speakers in the UK, teaching in campuses, communities and schools across the country.
Rabbi Rowe has worked together with Rabbi Schiff since 2004. During that time Rabbi Rowe has been Educational Director of Aish UK, and has overseen our cutting edge educational initiatives that have played a crucial role in enhancing Jewish identity and commitment amongst teens and students across the country. In February 2016 Rabbi Rowe became Executive Director of Aish UK as Rabbi Schiff became the head of the Jewish Futures group of charities.
In addition to his work at Aish, Rabbi Rowe has been responsible for the creation and development number of programmes including the Forum for Jewish Leadership and the Aleinu Conference, together with the JLE, Seed and the RCUS. He also played an instrumental role in helping bring Aish and JLE together on campus for the Genesis Programme. Most recently, alongside his responsibilities at Aish UK, Rabbi Rowe has served as Coordinator for the Chief Rabbi’s Shabbat UK for the last two years, playing a leading role in in the initiative which saw over 120,000 people taking part in community events across the UK in 2015.

Rabbi Yitz Sandler is Director of Aish Edgware. He was born in London, educated at Haberdashers Askes, and received a BA Econ Hons from Manchester University. He worked as a Management Consultant at Coopers and Lybrand and then studied for six years in Israel where he was awarded rabbinic degrees from three authorities including the Jerusalem Rabbinate. Yitz pioneered the first southern hemisphere branch of Aish in Johannesburg, South Africa as Educational Director. He returned to London to set up and direct the Aish Edgware branch.

Rabbi Shimshon Silkin is Director of Chazon UK. Shimshon is a dynamic and sought-after British-born lecturer and speaker. He was instrumental in directing the highly successful DTI programme in Dallas, Texas, whilst also hosting a national radio talk show. He moved back to the UK where he has continued to educate and inspire hundreds of students and professionals, both as Aish UK educator and as a keynote speaker at various educational events and seminars.

Ora Goldberg is head of Female Education for Aish UK. Born and raised in South Africa, she studied in Beis Yaakov in Johannesburg. Ora graduated with a BA in Psychology and English through UNISA, obtained a Drama Teachers Diploma, and studied in BYA Seminary in Israel for a year. Ora worked for three years for the Division of Informal Jewish education in Johannesburg for King David Jewish Day School. She moved to London to work for J*Link teaching in non-Jewish schools, and is currently coordinating programmes, teaching, and responsible for coordination of madrichot.

Rabbi Joel Padowitz, MBA CFA is a successful entrepreneur who has been involved adult Jewish education for nearly 20 years, specializing in the interface between traditional Judaism & modernity. Rabbi Padowitz is the founder and CEO of New York-based investment bank Palladium Capital Advisors, which is one of the top-25 most active placement agents in the USA. In 2009 he founded Jew IQ which develops mobile applications, content, and curricula for Jewish education and travel. He is also the author of Triumph and Tragedy: Journeying through 1000 Years of Jewish Life in Poland. Rabbi Padowitz gives regular classes in Talmud, Jewish thought, and Jewish law, and previously served as rabbi for Aish HaTorah’s young professional community in London. He is an award-winning speaker and writer whose articles have been published widely in mainstream Jewish media. Aside from rabbinic ordination, he received his MBA from Bar Ilan University where he finished first in his class, holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation, and was honored at the White House by President George H.W. Bush for outstanding achievements in science.

Rabbi Saul Kelly is Director of Campus Department for Aish UK. Saul attended Hasmonean High School, Yeshivat Hakotel and Imperial College, London, to study mathematics and computer science where he received BSc (Hons) ARCS GIMA. Inspired as a madrich on Fellowships, he founded "Od Avinu Hai", an outreach organisation aimed at the Sephardi community in London, which attracted over 700 members within its first year. Saul went on to Israel for a further four years of full-time learning, firstly for a year at Yeshivat Darche Noam (Shapells), then a year at Yeshivat Mir, followed by a final two years at the Jerusalem Kollel headed by Rabbi Yitzchok Berkovits.

Rabbi Daniel Sturgess is head of Aish Birmingham. He was born and raised in Essex, graduated with a BSc Mathematics and European Study (Spanish) from University of Exeter. Daniel’s career includes employment as an Actuary for the Prudential, and as an Analyst for IDT Europe. He attended Aish Yeshiva and Yeshivas Mir in Israel for 6 years, and graduated from the Ner LeElef Kiruv Training Program. He moved back to the UK to direct the Aish Birmingham branch.

Alli Sturgess was born in London, attended Bancrofts' School, graduated in Psychology BSc from University of Wales, Swansea in 2002, and worked as a Housing Officer for the homeless in Cardiff whilst qualifying in Drugs Awareness Training. Alli studied in Neve Yerushalayim Seminary for 7 months, returning to work as Education Coordinator for Aish UK. She moved back to Israel and trained in Life Coaching teaching 'Leadership Training and Life Skills' in Be'er Miriam and Meor Hatorah Seminaries. She worked at the ImaginAishions Dept in Israel, assisting in marketing and coordinating programmes and films. She taught in Michlelet Esther and Neve whilst training as graphic designer. She then moved to back to England to run Aish Birmingham with husband Rabbi Daniel Sturgess.

Rabbi Aaron Kampf is Senior Educator for Aish Manchester. Raised in London, he attended Talmudic colleges in Gateshead and then spent 8 years studying in Israel. Zev has a business background as a senior partner in an advertising and marketing company, and part owner of chain of restaurants. Zev received rabbinc ordination at Aish HaTorah in Jerusalem, where he directed the Executive Learning Centre for three years, prior to taking directorship of Aish Essex.

Rabbi Dani Smolowitz is Co-Director of Aish Essex. Born in South Africa, he Attended Torah Academy High School, moved to Israel and finished initial two years of study at Yeshivat HaNegev. He completed a Business Diploma in Accounting and Business Law and studied in Kollel Meor Hatorah. Dani joined Aish HaTorah, studied under the guidance of Rabbi Yitzchok Berkovits, and received rabbinic ordination. He moved to the UK and joined Aish UK's Essex branch.

Rabbi Benji Landau attended Hasmonean High School and achieved a BA Business Studies from Westminster. Benji spent seven years studying in a variety of yeshivas, including Yeshivat Hakotel, Mirrer and Aish HaTorah, where he received rabbinic ordination. Benji moved back to the UK to direct J*Link.

Aviva Landau attended Hasmonean High School and completed the overseas programme at Michlala College for Women in Jerusalem, earning a teaching certificate prior to graduating with a History BA at University College, London. Aviva moved to Israel in 2005, where she worked for Jeff Seidel's Student Center at Hebrew University as an outreach worker, and oversaw the women's learning programme. She taught and mentored students at Aish HaTorah’s Jewel for Women programme in Jerusalem. Aviva moved back to London to join Aish UK and work for the J*Link team, as Schools Educator and DofE Coordinator.

Educated at the prestigious City of London School. Spent two years in Yeshivat Kerem B`Yavneh before returning to England to study at university. Successfully completed degree from the London School of Economics in Government. Spent over 5 years studying Yeshivas Mir and the Jerusalem Kollel. Founding member of the Beit Midrash programme (originally based at LSJS and later moved to Ner Yisrael). Worked part time for Aish UK as a student fieldworker before moving back to the UK to work full time for Aish. Author of a number of Halachik works including Yonas Eliem on laws of mourning, Yonasi Tamasi on preparing bridegrooms for marriage, Kitzur Dinei Shmitta and Shiurei Halacha on the laws of Shabbos and Yom Tov.

Yael Roodyn handles Aish UK’s Campus Follow Up for Women. Educated at Hasmonean High, she spent gap year at Seminary Yerushalayim. Yael graduated from the LSE with a BSc in Management Science, and is a founding member of 'Pal' (teenage mentoring organisation). She interned at NatWest Group Risk & Israel's Har Hotzvim centre for hi-tech, and obtained a Research Masters from UCL in Computer Vision. Yael moved to Israel embarking on actuarial training at KPMG, Tel Aviv. She took positions in formal / informal Jewish education at Hebrew University Student Centre & Midreshet Tehilla & Ba'er Miriam seminaries. She established 'Aish UK in Israel', recruiting and educating yeshiva and seminary students, before moving back to London to work for Aish UK.

Liat Mayerfeld is Women's Educator for Aish UK. Born in New York, she earned teaching qualification and degrees in Jewish studies and special needs education from Michlala College for Women in Jerusalem. Liat spent 2.5 years working for Israeli military intelligence, before moving to the UK with her husband and family. She joined Aish UK in 2000 as Women's Educator working in schools.
