I am over 70 and am engaged to God-willing marry a woman of similar age. This is a third marriage for both of us. Is there an obligation for her to go the mikvah before the wedding?
Yes, she must go to the mikvah once before the wedding even if she has reached menopause. (The reason for this is a concern in Jewish law that the excitement of getting married may cause some unnoticed spotting, even in an older woman. See Shulchan Aruch Y.D. 192:1, Pischei Teshuva 2.) This would include checking herself for the seven clean days beforehand. (Some check only one time during the clean days (after the initial inspection before the seven days begin; see Toras HaShlamim Y.D. 192:2-3). You should ask you rabbi what practice he recommends.)
