Sewing Clothes on the 9 Days

Are we allowed to sew during the Nine Days?

The Aish Rabbi Replies:

The common custom is that we do not make or alter new clothing during the Nine Days (even if we plan to wear them after the fast). We may however, mend old clothes, not to make them appear new, just so that they can still be used.
