This is a false narative

This is a false narative.
Truth is not the acceptance of EVERYTHING around you but the understanding of how your surroundings impacts your understanding and behavior.
We are all like cells in a body where who we are and what we are depends on our interaction with our surroundings. The function of the cell wall is to provide us with a definition. Without that barrier we become nothing. Yet we need the positive intereraction with the surrounding cells to provide us with nutrition and the barrier of the surrounding cells to protect us from toxins.
The benchmark of the cell wall is its allowing nutrition while blocking toxins.
Knowing where we are and how we function as a cell also allows us to understand the interaction of the rest of the cells in the body and allows us to have a higher (4th dimensional) understanding of our environment.
Those "negative distinctions" are essential for our survival.

To commenter #2

I think the narrator was trying to tell us to look beyond the surface. Of course there is negativity in our environment, but sometimes an outward appearance can be deceiving.
