Why The World Hates The Jews

Recent events in Israel show that antisemitism is rife not just in Gaza, Akko, and Jerusalem but in the civilized capitals of the world. Why won't anti-Semitism go away?

I believe that God chose the Jewish people, so that through them the rest of the world would know how they are to live. The Jewish have so much to offer rest of the world. The world can really learn from their culture and religion. This is why God chose them so through the rest of the whole world could learn from their example.ant-semtism is such a unfortunate thing.

If we really want to understand

The Torah, in Deuteronomy 28, is abundantly clear.
If we obey we will be blessed. 14 verses of blessings.
In (JPS translation) verse 13, Moses wrote, The Lord will make you the head, not the tail; you will always be at the top and never at the bottom-if only you obey and faithfully observe the commandments of the Lord your G-D that I might enjoin upon you this day,
and in verse 15 a fearsome warning.
Then Moses wrote 53 verses of curses for disobedience. Horrible, awful, dreadful curses that have all come true, and are still coming true today.
Let us do what Lamentations says in 3:40; Let us search and examine our ways, And turn back to the Lord;
Let us lift up our hearts with our hands to G-d in heaven.
And the prophet Hosea wrote in 6:1-2 about our distress and our healing.
The third day is near. Please, Lord our G-d, bind us up and heal us soon!
Amen and Amen

Ohr lagoyim

Thank you for publishing the video. It is sad to see antisemitism is still alive a few decades after the holocaust. As a non Jew, I am appaled to see the intensity of hatred generated by these haters and pray for your safety. However, in response to the message of the video, I would like to ask the Jewish readers here-  What does it mean for you to be light to the Gentiles? I do agree that the message of the Torah does not bring peace . On the other hand, the light of the Torah is not designed to be enjoyed only within the Jewish community. No one lights a lamp and put in under a basket, but in an open place where everyone sees it. It is stated in the Torah that God created man in His Image.Does being light to Gentiles requires you to bless God every day for not being created as one? It is stated in the Torah, love your neighbor as yourself. Is this command understood to apply within the Jewish community, or to everyone? It is inevitable that being chosen as light to the Gentiles will invite hate. However confining that light and not sharing it with the world may also invite hate. Thank you.

We are the nation that will not let the world live in peace?

בס''ד בל''נ
Dear Rabbi Sinclair, shlita, My biological brother is so anti-Semitic he has "stopped" my inheritance by giving me shares locked into a private family company that he and his wife control, when I last spoke with him on the telephone I asked where is my inheritance and he told me "You have received your shares!" I could hear a sadistic laugh in his voice - my shares are valued at around 1MGBP - I have only "H to rely on. My name means peace and for 3 1/2 years I have sought peaceful means with my brother and his family I have told them about righteous gentiles that help Jews - last Shabbat I read in Chumash Berashit commentary of Rabbi S. R. Hirsch of the meaning of "Zeher Amalek" to blot-out the names of anti-Semitic people - the opposite of this is making lists of all the haters of Israel thereby making them into anti-Israel "heroes", even being on these lists they have "achieved" something with their life - but our mitzvah of "Zeher Amalek" is to blot out their name - I literally pray that my biological brother and his family's name be blotted out "Imach Sh'mo"! We learn in Parshat Toldot Berashit 27 v.40 Yitzhak Avinu told Esau "And by thy sword shalt thou live and thy brother shalt thou serve and only when thou humblest thyself shalt thou loosen his yoke from off thy neck" - I understand this possuk to mean 'H has created the non-Jews to serve Israel only we have become used to "Esau living by the sword" we practically expect Esau to be killing us Hass V'Shalom with pogroms and anti-Semitism and not serving us that we make lists of the names of those that hate us as if they were anti-Jewish "heroes" and all we need to do is remember 'H commanded us "Zeher Amalek" and blot out their memory. I believe we need to re-learn and re-align with the will of 'H for which we were created. I look forward to receiving your comment on my comment. Kind regards, Shulamit

Reverse Israel and the Palestinians in your comment and you'll be correct in what you say. Just now you've got it backwards.

Brilliant

Such a great name for an orthodox Rabbi and as a form of prophecy in this speech context: Sinclair when heard in French Means 2 words: Saint ( מבורך) Clair ( ברור, clear). Thank you for this smart, courageous and incisive reminding. Bless you

Great and true message. It's all abt wanting to do what we want without a conscience.

Great video

People

I understood your video and the information generated a cognitive question. What creates motives that become activated in people? Once their motives actually become known, a person can be guided to living in peace if one chose to accept. Most people have learned that it is easier to just be followers.

THE RABBI HAS SPOKEN THE TRUTH ONLY TRUTH

We are the conscience and envy of the world

We are the conscience and envy of the world. We are both a moral conscience of the world and a world that is Consumed with self, confused about nature andGod-given attributes, and a world that is increasingly self-absorbed and decadent. A world that does not want to be reminded of good and evil morality etc. Combine that with an intense NV and jealousy for what the Jewish people have accomplished which makes other nations feel inferior and that hate us

Ruben, August 29, 2021 8:53 PM

I really agree with your comment.I believe that God gave the human race the Jewish people so that through them human beings would know the difference between right and wrong.During the time of the old testament God was very strict with them so that they would learn right and wrong. Now we -humans living today can follow their example.

Jews against anti-Semites

Forgive me for approaching the issue from a different angle. Firstly, I agree with the observation regarding the cowardly self-hating Jews in prominent positions in politics, economy etc. Concerning the revival of anti-Semitism it took 70 years since the founding of the state of Israel for the scum to raise its hatred again. the 20th century was for us the era of the Zionist advancement with the arrival of the "Muscle Jew" who responded to enmity and physical threats with equal retaliation. The Zionist movement was, in part, built on this attitude. With all due respect to Rabbi Sinclair, the times of Jewish superiority in moral, brains and understanding to combat the vicious assailants is no longer sufficient to defend ourselves. WE need to respond with equally brute force, whether in synagogue, in kosher establishments or even on the streets.
I would suggest that every Jew, whether Haredi, Chassid, reform or secular, obtain a license to carry a concealed weapon or at least train with a laser gun. Furthermore, our Israeli army has devised Krav Maga as a mean of self-defense for any woman or man. Involving oneself in these methods strengthens the confidence and resolution to teach these thugs a lesson.
Shabbat Shalom!

Jews against anti-Semites

With all due respect, the overwhelming majority of Jews in the West are in the reform, conservative or secular camps and typically subscribe to "progressive" positions, which include severe restrictions on gun ownership. They would never support your suggestion .... until it were too late.

Rabbi Sinclair’s potent words need to be broadcasted to all platforms and stations!

I have been an avid reader of Rabbi Asher Sinclair’s Divrei Torah in the Bayit’s (Thornhill, Toronto) Torah on Line weekly Parsha bulletins for many decades. His clarity and vivid examples like this video’s message make the message easy to understand and comprehend! This message fits hand-in-glove with our challenge to “be a light unto the nations”!

Morality

While this might be part of it. Many anti semites will say they hate us for "moral" reasons. Like an "occupation" or "genocide". Heck, I've seen them actually blame Abraham.

Jews being hated - People don't like those who are different

Why are the Jews hated?

There is really a very simply answer to why Jews are hated and it resides in something which is at the core of Human nature, and you can see it in very young children. In general People don’t like others that are different from them.

Jews see themselves as the special people chosen by God and they separate themselves from everyone else because they feel that they alone are trying to follow the Ways of The One God. It is this barrier that often creates both sides from holding out the hand of friendship in an open and gracious way.

From the inside Jews think they are hated and are therefore afraid whereas from the outside people see Jews and not being approachable.

Gary, May 21, 2021 7:16 PM

Re Jews being hated - People don't like those who are different

Your explanation seems logical until you look into the history of the Jews and you see that it doesn't hold up at many points in time. James Parkes was an Anglican clergyman who wrote numerous books on and in support of the Jews. He noted that, despite the anti-Jewish writings of the early Church fathers and the attempts of their successors to encourage their congregants to not mix with Jews and the secular authorities to pass laws in support thereof, there wasn't widespread hatred of Jews during much of the early Middle Ages. He surmises that people looked at Jews as simply having a different faith and customs from them, but essentially easy to deal with in the market place. They even mixed socially in certain circumstances. He suggests that only after centuries of aggressive anti-Jewish sermonizing, the final domination of Christianity over the remaining pagan areas of Europe, and the call to the Crusades, that anti-Judaic fervour really took off. In the modern era, since the Enlightenment, Jews have willingly assimilated, intermarried, even converted like never before in history. According to your logic, then, anti-semitism should have become all but extinct, only directed towards those Jews who maintain their distinctiveness in obvious, noticeable ways. But, as we see, that's not exactly the case.

Love your Jewish neighbor

I think he is correct about antisemitism from Sinai but while believing all humanity is created in Gods image loving your neighbor as yourself is a very difficult bar which is commanded only of Jews to each other not towards others. It's often misunderstood but if someone says they love their own family not the same degree as they feel towards their friends family people get it or should

A perfect video by Rabbi Sinclair.

The words that the brilliant Rabbi Sinclair express are second to none in intelligence. It's just shameful that this issue has to be asked and explained time and again.
The intonation and elocution are awe-inspiring, as only Rabbi Sinclair
can convey.

(1) Alan S., May 20, 2021 3:27 PM

Perfect commentary by Rabbi Sinclair.

Eloquence, beauty and intelligence all in one video. Only Rav Sinclair could manage such a feat. With inflection and intonation that keeps a viewer spellbound. And of course the commentary is peerless.
