Thoughtful advice, Rabbi. I agree anger is just the worst. When one person is angry the entire famiiy suffers. Modeling is great. Do what I do happens more than do what I say. All of it together makes happy families. Meals, Laughter, Count your blessings. Thanks for your insight.

great advice but..

you need to consider that not everyone can just decide never to allow anger to enter their environment again. And what if the spouse is not capable. No doubt about it, anger is damaging, but if someone still has to work on that, does that mean they should never have a family? Obviously all the tips are worthy, but not everyone can achieve the perfection you describe.

Tip on Implementation

I agree that one can't always control the feeling (nor is it healthy to supress or deny anger), but one can control how one acts. Give oneself "time outs" to calm down before confronting the source of the anger. One can then acknowledge the anger and deal with it practically rather than emotionally.
