It started with the anti-Israel bias: believing and printing stories that accorded with a preconcieved idea without further reseach. Now the lack of verification atitude is speading insiduously to other aspects of journalism. Is it really so unexpected? I only wish the lies about Israel would be exploded so publicly!

If it sounds too good to be is!!

If it sounds too good.....RUN!! We must learn that there is no way to make a quick buck!! ( maybe just with the Aish Raffle!!)

However there will always be those that fall for a money scheme!

Rabbi Solomon a simple message but profound

Be aware of the person who says this a terrible book I forbid you to read it or "you mean you don't trust me?" Check it out.

BUT WAIT, we don't WANT to find out anything about christianity, that is why we don't check it out!

have our cake and eat it too?

"You need to check it out, don't rely on anybody else." Hmm? So what about Rashi's "even if the sages say 'left' is 'right' we're to follow them"?
Judaism has a whole list of taboos in doing "research on your own", which even qualified rabbis won't touch.

He means those who are in a particular group should learn and research their own group. Us learning deeply about our faith, while others doing research on their own faith. So we have an understanding instead of just doing things

Gullible? Never.

The ones who ran the story weren't gullible. They were greedy. They wanted the scoop, they wanted it first, wanted the headlines, the too good to be true story, because they were greedy. They knew the story would sell, and they knew the retraction would, too.

Ponzi schemes, Greed. Insider trading, Greed. Gambling on the stock market, Greed. Greedy people deserve what they reap.
