Israel

If Israel would be treated as a normal democratic country and not these lies and halftrues in media it imho will be easier to be a jew. I am not a jew but judaism and Israel is very important for me,

Let's make our simchas b' simcha not with loans & debts!

$$$$.....it's absurd that we, us Jews, spend astronomical amounts for a simcha ....esp a wedding! It's a 5 hour party....we need $400 floral arrangements? I think not. And I think it's putting people in debt...& even if it isn't i think I think we need to re examine our priorities in how we spend our money. There is a concept of tzniyut in how we show our money to others.

Anti Semitism! It's amazing that we are still shocked to see a swah sticka painted in a train station in Long Island. "Esav soneh et Yaakov".... No commentary needed!! This is not our Homeland....we are just invited guests....maybe our invite has expired.

Terrorist....ISIS....they are on our precious land....& they were not invited. The amount of Muslims is frightening! KKK has now made their way up North. I think it's a very scary world for us Jews!

And the way we treat each other....esp if we label ourselves orthodox...oy, is all I can say! How long can we cloak ourselves in Judaism?

Doing something is better than doing nothing at all.

I was raised in a Secular Jewish home, but have slowly become more observant over the decades. My husband and I always encourage our young adult son to marry within the religion. He is not interested in getting married right now, as he has had his heart broken in the past. Each week I read the Torah portion from my Stone Chumash. I am also learning to read Hebrew, and I light candles every Friday night. My family also sees me walking to services on Shabbat. Am I perfect in my level of observance? No, but I am doing the best I can. I am very curious to read what the other commenters have to say.
