we can only forgive a certain amount of times
If the person keeps continuing with the offending behavior, I feel itis not wise to keep forgiving!!! At a certain point, you must leave to protect yourself.

Yes, protect yourself
You should always protect yourself against others who do you harm. At the same time, for your own well being, it helps to let go of the resentment. I was told once that obsessing over what someone had been doing that was harming someone I loved was like drinking poison and hoping the other person will die. Forgiveness is for your sake, not for the sake of the offending person. You can forgive and still act to protect yourself and those who are dear to you.
