Before watching the video Google Exodus (by as a class:

  1. On a piece of paper (or on or, draw what Moshe’s Facebook page might look like. Remember to include his friends list, wall posts, location, and more. Then watch the video to see what someone else envisioned.

After watching the video:

  1. Have students search for the related verses in the Exodus story in the Torah. For younger kids, prepare a source sheet and have students match the sources to scenes in the video.
  2. Make a mind map of the plagues using
  3. Write a newspaper article about events in the Exodus, as seen in the CNN World news scene in the video.
  4. Answer Moshe’s Yahoo Answers question: “Why is the bush burning but not being consumed?” Then have each student write another question Moshe might have for Yahoo Answers. Students exchange their questions with a partner and answer the other student’s question as if they were Yahoo Answers.
  5. Use Google Maps (or Google Earth) as Moshe does in the video. With your students, see if you can locate the pyramids in Egypt.
  6. Which students in your class would be a member of the Google Group First-Born Club? Why do the members of the Egyptian First-Born Club disappear one by one, leaving only Pharaoh? Remind students that first-born Israelites did not die in the last plague.
  7. Create a virtual message wall on as if you were Moshe’s Facebook friends posting on his message wall.
  8. Ask students: What other technologies or websites might you have included in this video?
  9. Ask students: How do you think Moshe really communicated with Pharaoh and the Israelites before cell phones, e-mail, and Facebook?
