Very nice

The levels of meaning behind who "sam" is are many!On Shavuyous we need to FEEL our connection with The Holy One through the "great gift" that HE gve us of the Torah.

This made me think about marriage more deeply

"Shavuot is the wedding day of the Jewish people with the Almighty, when we forged an eternal bond that cannot be broken."
This is such a beautiful and deep reality. It has been said that human marriage is meant to be a reflection of God's marriage to His people, and to lead us to learn to be more like Him. So it seems that we are dishonoring that reality, and His commitment to us, when we break human marriages by divorce. That's not to say that sometimes separation is necessary. But if we read the Bible carefully, whenever God separates from his people (for example, allowing them to go into exile), it is only temporary, and always for the purpose of eventually bringing them back, through realizing that they need Him. It seems that He is teaching us, through His own eternal faithfulness to follow His example. So why is it considered just a given that it is ok to give up on marriage, when God never ever gives up on His marriage?

Reading the Torah more than once

I have read certain Torah portions more than once, and have gotten different perspectives each time I read these parshat. (I hope I am using this word correctly.) The Torah is classic literature, IMO.

Thank you

How wonderful to understand that everything comes down to understanding G-d.
