I have heard of a few, and there may be more, children of Holocaust survivors who found out via the Yad VeShem database that their parents had families before the war. These children of Holocaust survivors were completely taken by surprise that they had half-siblings who were murdered in camps.

For the past three or four years we have been reprinting RAbbi Sach's Shabbat Devre Torahs and to me that has been the reading material that I looked forward to reading more than any others, His death has affected me so much. We all just must realize what a treasure we had, for not long enough. His life has impacted thousands of people and with technology, I'm sure his inspiring words will continue to ring our and can live on forever. We have been blessed to live during his lifetime. May his memory be a blessing.

Chaya means life!

I had to watch this video twice to realize that Chaya Holtzberg who the granddaughter was named after was Chaya Goldberg. I am amazed at the research and and the details that the Yad Vashem does. The detective work the son did was awesome.

Wow, what a story.

Thank you to, Yad Vashem and the Goldberg family for bringing us a sad yet beautiful story. The linkage is poetic, as the Nazi's could not snuff out future generations.
