Check Please

One year around Birthday time for twins Ephraim and Yael Schiff, their mother Shira decided that she was no longer going to remind her kids to write their grandmother thank you notes after they received their birthday presents.

As a result their Bubbie never received acknowledgments of the generous checks she had given.

The next year things were different, however.

"The twins came over in person to thank me," Bubbie Schiff told a friend triumphantly.

"How wonderful!" the friend exclaimed. "What do you think caused the change in behavior?"

"Oh, that's easy," Bubbie replied. "This year I didn't sign the checks."
