Jtube: BDS'ing in Ireland

Irish shops are boycotting Israel but welcoming goods from Iran, Sudan and North Korea. Anti-semitism? You be the judge.

aliyah to israel

I'm beginning to understand how so many gentiles living in occupied territories under German rule in WWII collaborated with the forces of evil.
I t's high time all Jews of the diaspora made aliyah. The people interviewed don't even try hiding there antisemitism. They would rather support evil regimes supporting Genocide , than sell products from the only true democracy in the middle east . MIND-BOGGLING!!

Boycott? Simple-Minded?

Am I being simplistic here? This isn't a "few" stores but a national boycott. Boycotts are political and economic sanctions based upon values that a country holds.

Boycotts indicate a POV, right or wrong that a country holds reflect "punishment" often for protection or principles.

I can't comment about whether the average Irish citizen is anti-Semitic, but certainly the boycott is anti-Israel.

don't agree with the video's conclusions

All you can say is these people felt comfortable offering an anti-semitic posture to a stranger - and they probably do believe that. But any other conclusions are unproven:
Do they agree that Iran is eco-friendly, or did they just not want to argue with this stranger?
Are they going to eagerly buy from this Syrian supplier, or toss his solicitation in the garbage?
More likely, they don't care about the ethics of any of their suppliers, except perhaps Israel because they believe in some aspect of BDS. It's wrong, it's even stupid, but I don't believe it proves the hypocrisy trying to be proven here.

I do definitely agree.

The producers of this video are trying to plant a needle in a haystack ... not find one. The Irish are really a humanitarian people, they like to celebrate the best in people, though the truth is they are subject to the general political backwater of UK politics because they have such close political liason with them. They mean to please and to help tourists enjoy their open heartedness and nothing more ... only skin deep polotical correctness. I feel the producers have not dealt honestly with the Irish merchants interviewed ... they have simply shown their gullability ...

perhaps Melanie and Melissa can be our emmisaries

to Ireland? to be honest in irelend me thinks it would be a buig struggle as there are about 1000 Jews and 40,000 Moslems AND The IRA was an ally of the PLO (terror groups helped each other) So first one needs to point out the IRA fought to get British out of Ireland and the Jews to get the British out of what was designated by the UN to be the Jewish homeland. And of course the history and facts. Perhaps people like Melanie and Melissa can be good emmissaries for Israel?

You both got it WRONG

Melanie, it most certainly does prove the HYPOCRISY - the merchants boycott Israel based on the lies told about human rights abuses; the filmmaker enumerates the human rights abuses committed be each of the countries in question and nobody even blinks an eyelash.
Melissa, Irish people are free to speak their minds and their hearts and, clearly, they have been polluted; I don't know what the Catholic church is teaching today but you can be damn sure that all those "humanitarians" boycotting Israel were easily swayed because their minds were already poisoned. No needle in a haystack here - just the one to break the balloon of your fantasies regarding them to have "simply shown their gullability" - WHAT BLARNEY

Tourists need to think twice

With so many countries to visit why should Ireland be on any tourists list? Since boycotting Israel is on their agenda --- boycotting Iteland needs to be on ALL tourists list . Believe you me there are many other countries to visit and currency counts from the world wide tourists. Let's all spread the word! P:S One can get shicker(drunk) without the help of Ireland !

Well said, Gail!!

I won't go to Ireland, even if the mayor of Dublin is Jewish.
