Monica Pollans' Pride For Her Father Is Fully Justified

I knew Monica when I was growing up and met her father, Shorty Levin. I did not know until I read his obituary many years later that the Exodus had been his ship. Now I know why I didn't know. Shorty had taken great risks doing what he did. All Jews should feel great pride in Shorty and consider themselves very fortunate indeed that he was one of ours in our hour of need.

My father owned the President Warfield which became the Exodus

My late father, Louis "Shorty" Levin, and his brother George Levin, owned the old excursion ship President Warfield which was purchased by the Aliyah Bet and then was refurbished to become the Exodus. My father was a hero --- he could have gone to prison for defying the US embargo against such transactions which was in effect at that time. I honor his courage and treasure his blessed memory --- Monica Levin Pollans, proud daughter of Louis "Shorty" Levin.

brutality of those who call themselves " civilized "

The British Empire that could better be called Vampire all through twentieth century done so much harm to so many people, one example India, Iran, Africa where thousands and thousands been killed by the hand of murderers like General Dyer. The story of Exedus is a sad example of how this Empire intentionally disrespects the life of the people, those who survived the German camps ended up in British camps which was not much better. Jewish people should be proud to survive all that was done to them be Russians, Germans, Italians, Arabs and the British. This is why Israel is for ever to stay. Keep you pride up, no one's going to harm you even that Monkey Ahmadi Nejad of Islamic Republic. behrouz kia
