Click here for Aish.com's new online Jewish Calendar.
(For Windows Only. This program will not run on a MAC.)
This user-friendly software program is a Jewish calendar covering thousands of years, giving you dates of holidays, weekly Torah portions, candle-lighting times -- plus lots of other fun gadgets. It even lets you add birthdays and yahrzeits of loved ones, with a reminder for every year.
"Kaluach" converts Hebrew dates to the civil calendar and vice versa. Plus it switches from English to Hebrew.
"Kaluach" covers hundreds of cities throughout the world. Simply set the location for anywhere in the world and all times are automatically adjusted.
Instructions: Click the link and save the file wherever you like. To run the program, simply click the icon. Shortcuts can be made and placed wherever you like.
"Kaluach" is a free download from aish.com, courtesy of Yisroel Hirsh, the creator of Kaluach.

An outsider who wishes to learn a little more
Aged 77, baptised in to the Anglican Church many years ago, I am interested in "religion" and the wider issues of "why we are here", and "what Life is all about". In my younger days I encountered many Jewish friends and would now like to know more about the religion, beliefs and legends that gave us what we seem to call Christianity. I am distressed that so many British children seem to know so little about the Bible, whilst admitting that the "facts" set out by that collection of writings are not the sole target of any enquiry and I would like to enhance my wider knowledge - at least to start with - by understanding a little more of Jewish legends, folklore, teachings, festivals (in particular), holidays and beliefs. If there is a simple starter volume of summary and explanation that might be understandable to such a "lightweight" as I am I would be gratfeul to learn of it. and for your guidance.
Thank you - John Hamp

I need to contact the creator of kaluach please.
Do you know how to contact him. I need to use the program in a different way. I would like to pay him or someone else to modify it for my needs. I would be happy to get his mail address to my mail. It hopefully will bring lots of chizuk to many people. Thanks.

Re: Not compatible with Windows 8
I have encountered the same problem, and solved it like this. Right-click the executable and select properties. Go to the compatibility tab, and click the button for Troubleshoot compatability. use the default settings and test it. It installed fine. This should work well for you also.

Jewish Wedding Date Calculator
For anyone who can help: It would be wonderful if there was a Jewish wedding date calculator for interested parties, where a secular date (month/date/year) could be entered (even possibly, local hour/min. of ceremony location) and get results to see if there are any religious prohibitions for that date/time (and again, if provided for specific location). Please forward if you know of someone/an organization who can help. In advance of this, THANK YOU for those working toward this endeavor. Thank you again.
(84) , July 26, 2010 2:47 AM
This downloaded so easily and the icon on my desktop allows me to look at the calendar at will. Thanks for this so much, I have been looking for a Jewish calendar... some are so beautiful as I had in the 90's at least for one year. I still keep it. The art work alone is worth holding on to it. Kept long enough... it rolls back around again. It's wonderful!

Necessary for the 21st century and beyond
When my hard disk crashed after a lot of hard use, I was unable to check for candle lighting times for Dallas, Texas. Once replaced, I downloaded your calendar both to disk and to my new hard drive. Now, I'll be able to light candles and check yartzeit dates by using the Gregorian part of your calendar to check for the correct Hebrew date. Thanks.
