What a beautiful portrayal of who we are!

That was simply a wonderful overview of the Jewish journey. Thank you Lord Sacks.

I do not understand what Rabbi Sacks means when he says " and though we have loved G-d with an everlasting love, we've never stopped wrestling with Him, nor He with us" (at the 5 minute mark in the video) Can anyone explain this? Thank you!

Israel means he who wrestles with G-d

I was born Jewish but couldn't understand after I saw a movie about the Holocaust why someone would want to remain Jewish knowing that they could die because antisemitism repeats. I asked my parents why I should remain a Jew knowing that it is possible with the history of the Jews that someone would possibly come after them again and again and they couldn't explain except to say that being Jewish is in your blood. As I got a little older and explored other religions in order to understand the world around me and finally explored my own as well I finally understood why I am a Jew. However, your short video touched me very deeply and explained all my questions from so long ago in just a few minutes. I thought it was deeply moving and very inspirational and will continue to share it with others. I only wish you had this video in a russian translation as well. Thank you with all my heart.

Wonderful. Simply states the tenets of Judaism without being preachy.

Very well written and produced. Sent the right message simply without sounding preachy.

Does anyone know where I can get a written copy of the text of Rabbi Sachs' "Why I am a Jew?" video?

(11) Lisa Daniels Gonzales, September 11, 2015 8:49 PM

Beyond words. Watched over and over.

Inspiring and helpful. After a tragic loss I had asked myself who am I? After some research I discovered a Jewish heritage that had been kept secret. I embrace being Jewish with heart and soul. What an amazing journey this has been!!! Peace at last.

Rav Sachs sums up 4000 years of Jewish history so well. I have always been proud to be a practicing Jewess, and live in the State of Israel among my own people. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us.
