What is Zionism?

The connection of the Jewish people to the Land of Israel has been an integral part of the Jewish story for at least 3,000 years.

Accurate historical facts, but misleading

I wish to clarify, since it seems that the video did not explain this at all, that the focus and central factor of Judaism is the Torah, and not the land of Israel. The Torah was given to us on Mount Sinai, in the desert, what was no man's land in that time, and not in Israel. The Torah makes us Jews, not the land of Israel.

Israel definitely played a central role in our ancient history. The many years we spent in its borders was a privilege, but we were exiled from it as a result of our sins. Only by keeping the Torah faithfully were our forefathers able to reside in the sacred land. Let us not forget that Israel is the palace of the King, G-d, and living in it is a privilege and a call of duty to serve Him on a higher level. It's a great responsibility, one which we must be aware of at all times.

I support and stand for the State of Israel in the international arena, where Antisemitism plays an unfortunate part in today's politics. However let us not be so naive as to get confused by the people who are trying to push their own interpretation of the facts onto us, in order to further their own agenda.

Modern Israel is to be admired for its many achievements and the great strides they've made since their establishment in 1948, however, unlike the portrayal in this video suggests, Israel is not the bullseye, or revolving factor of Judaism. God and the Torah are.
