wearing of kippah
If kippah wearing "acknowledges a higher authority" and proclaims "I am a Jew" why do women not wear?

Right on!
I put a kipah on in tenth grade in a school that, with a student body of about 1,400, had a grand total of two Jews. Why? Because I'm proud of my past and proud of our future. I didn't know much about practicing Judaism, and felt guilty that I wasn't representing how a Jew should behave. There may have been some validity to that, but a girl told me that I changed her perception of Jews. She said that she thought that Jews just sit around and cry about the holocaust all day and that I showed her that we have a zest for life and we care about others. I keep striving to grow in my Judaism now. How can I continue being a light unto the nations?
