Is Zionism a Form of Colonialism?

Rooted in the word for the Land of Israel, Zion, the word Zionist may not actually be as “modern” as you think! In fact, Zionists have been around for thousands of years.

The problem with this documentary

Well-made and excellent video, BUT there is a problem: The video focuses on the important Ashkenazi Jewish history of being exiled to Europe and then, finally, returning home to Israel, BUT it leaves out the crucial story about Sephardic and Mizrachi Jewish communities. It is crucial to stress that not only are Jews indigenous to Israel and the Middle East, but many Jews never left the Middle East, never entered Europe, and were living there when Arab imperialist colonizers invaded and set up their new regime in the 7th century. In fact, a majority of modern-day Israeli Jews are Mizrachi and Sephardic. Israel not only returned an exiled people back to their ancestral homeland, but it also restored sovereignty to an indigenous population that had been reduced to an oppressed minority in their own ancestral homeland, by Roman, Arab, Turkish Ottoman, British and other invaders.

More To Come

It may be dealt with in a future episode. Patience.

Where do I find the rest of this series? I really want to understand the origins of the problems in Israel and it’s so hard to find clear information.

Jews are middle eastern people from the Levant

We Ashkenazi Jews have been forced to think of ourselves as white Europeans by the colonist rulers. We are not! We are Middle East Jews from the Levant and the land of Canaan/Israel biblically and historically Jewish land. The Arabs are the occupiers!

Excellent explanation / overview of the connection between the Jewish people and the land of Israel, and how it differs completely from any notion of colonialism.
Should be distributed to every Jewish college student and community.
Thank you!
