Why the BDS Campaign against Israel is Dangerously Wrong

Beneath the surface it's an attempt to delegtimize Israel as a prelude to its elimination.

There is something dear Rabbi should consider:
Most of those non-Muslim BDS supporters are illiterate, uneducated people; the emotive mob; very often they don't even know where Israel is, or what all of this problem about; so all what they need is to get some catharsis, to empty their minds from their aggression and other emotional burden. For their Muslim masters-commanders too, the Palestinian "cause" is nothing more than a warmongering and moneymaking business--how much the "cause" brings to them in cash every year?

no to Palestinian state

A Palestinian state would be a terror state. If it is our land it would be a betrayal of Gd.

Brilliantly Done

This is, by far, the best piece I have seen recently that explains the conflict CLEARLY and FAIRLY. If only the college students being brainwashed could be exposed to this short video they would understand what BDS truly is - and I include JEWISH students in particular because too many of them have been swept up in the religion of "tikkun olam" and convinced that Israel is to be blamed for the failure to reach a peace agreement with the arabs. Jewish professors are among those spreading anti-jewish venom disguised as 'human rights' concerns - Thank you, Rabbi Sacks, for delivering the truth so well (the cartoons were really good, too!!).

The elephant in the room

I've been following your site for six years. I've contributed, not enough, but as I'm able. I'm (painfully) learning Tanakh Hebrew & when I enter university as a senior citizen, I plan to major in Hebraic studies. Just a brief note to say that I am pro-Israel. However, the question of Jewish settlements on the West Bank must be addressed, and I would dearly love Israeli input on this topic. Thank you so much for your time.

Little Known Fact

In the 1970s the Israeli gov't. built about 6-7 housing complexes, each a short distance from the "captured" refugee camps and offered these houses - all mod coms, as the saying goes - to the Palestinians to live in. Arafat issued a pamflet threatening to kill any family - meaning the extended family: brothers, cousins, etc. - that moved into the housing complexes. Thus they remained emply until the mid-1980s, when the Isreali gov't opened them as "development towns" to all Israelis. (I guess they got tired of waiting, and wanted a return on the investiment.) The prices were attractive and rates cheap, so many Israelis, especially new immigrants, moved into the housing complexes - or new towns, as they became. That is the origin of the "settlements" and why some of them are so close to the refugee camps.
Once the area was opened, some people - Jews and Arabs alike - took unfair advantage, building jerry-towns without permission. Those are the "illegal settlements" - by Israeli law, at least - and the Is. gov't generally obtains an court order and demolishes these jerry-towns - Jewish and Arab alike.
Those who rail against "settlement" rarely differentiate between legal and illegal towns and villages, calling all illegal that are Jewish, and ignoring completely - or encouraging - the Arab. And that is how things stand currently.

about the 'West Bank"

As the video showed - when Israel left Southern Lebanon it was replaced by terrorist Hezbollah who armed themselves with tens of thousands of missiles threatening Israel. When Israel left Gaza the PALESTINIANS responded by firing tens of thousands of missiles at Israel. These people can not be trusted to live in peace - they seek to destroy Israel and make the whole region Moslem only. In the West Bank the Palestinians Never Stopped Inciting to kill Jews and even name streets after their killers! to the World the West Bank Includes The Western Wall and the Jewish Quarter of Old Jerusalem as well as Rachels Tomb and Cave of the (JEWISH) Patriarchs and Matriarchs. There are hundreds of thousands of Jews living for DECADES in East Jerusalem and Hebron and elsewhere. Shall they all be made homeless and Jews abandon their holiest sites and graves of their ancestors to those that lust to kill them?!? Look at a World Map - I think the Arabs do not have a "No Room For them To Go" problem. But there is just ONE Jewish state - in Historical Jewish land.
