Shabtai Tzvi: The False Messiah who Betrayed Judaism

When the charismatic and popular messianic figure was told to convert to Islam or die, Shabtai Tzvi converted, changing his name to Aziz Mehmet Effendi, creating an embarrassing stain on Jewish history.

Let our prayers soar upwards; but keep our “feet” planted but running to do mitzvahs

Let our prays soar heavenward; but keep our “feet” panted but running to do mitzvot

Very interesting article about Shabtahai Tzvi (excuse my spelling). I knew some of his story but not all. It's amazing the persecution we Jews have undergone and are still undergoing. I won't tolerate any of it!

Thank you for sharing!

I heard it and Rabbi Levine's shiur added a lot of perspective.

This video is speaking heresy in the name of the Arizal, rav Yitzhak Luria. No portion of the essence of HaShem ever fell nor fractured.. we know nothing, absolutely nothing about the essence of HaShem.
If it’s talking about the shattered vessels, it has nothing to do with HaShem ‘s essence. Please learn your facts!!!

A Lesson From Quantum Mechanics

I think Rav Luria’s language is highly symbolic and not easily understood. But perhaps an analogy from Quantum Mechanics is relevant: particles that were once in contact remain attuned to each other even when later separated. So the “sparks” are both part of and away from the Creator.
